Its the perfect from which location to explore Zanzibar island - enjoy nearby Marine Turtle Sanctuary, Jozania Forest to see Colobus Monkeys, Spice Tours, Blue Lagoon snorkelling, Village Walks, Stone Town shopping trips.

At the Paje/Jambiani intersection, turn left and follow the signs to Bwejuu village.

Airport Transfers can be arranged at USD70 per vehicle (7 passengers max) one way.

  Saffron Villa is right on the beach, no strolling through town or alleys to get the beach...just roll out of bed and wander 20 feet and there you are...your own private beach front! The Villa is large, with 2 large comfy beds and gorgeous bathrooms. Lovely sitting areas inside and out with a kitchen as well if you feel the desire to cook...but no need as Crazy Mzungo's bar is right next door for food and bevies! Lovely staff, great food and again right on the beach. The place is decorated beautifully, really the perfect place to chill while enjoying the vibe of Zanzibar. The staff are very helpful and have some great suggestions for activities while on the island. We had a lovely relaxing time here, would highly recommend it for your next adventure to Zanibar!

  Saffron Beach Villa is a real gem on the East Coast of Zanzibar. It was my first time on the island, so I wasn't sure what to expect, but staying in this beautiful villa certainly played a big role in making my short holiday an unforgettable experience.
  
  It was impeccably clean and tastefully decorated in authentic local style, with awesome views of the ocean and the beach, which was just a few steps away. The staff - Gerard, Abede the chef, Ana and Muhu - were at all times very friendly and helpful, without being intrusive. The villa offers enough privacy to chill and relax on one's own, but I also spent much time at the very charming Crazy Mzungo's beach lounge next door. Of course I could not resist abede's delectable dishes!
  
  My primary aim was to unwind and relax, and in this regard, Saffron Beach Villa met all my expectations. I couldn't have asked for more and was very reluctant to leave. I would recommend it wholeheartedly to any of my friends and acquaintances wanting to visit Zanzibar.
  
  A huge asante sana to Matt and Michelle and all the staff - I will most definitely be back!!

  My experience of Saffron Beach Villa (SBV) was enhanced by the stupendous service that I received from the hosts Matt (Boss Kazi, aka the Crazy Muzungo), Mich (Mama Michi) & the amazingly dedicated staff of SBV and Crazy Muzungo's - Gerard (Mr G is a breathe of fresh air and has the best can do attitude ever!), Anna (with a caring touch to her housekeeping duties and provider of the tastiest honey), Habedi (Chef humble supremo who tantalized my culinary buds at every meal time) and Moohoe (delivering service at all hours with the most radiant smile). Sbv is modern and comfortable with uninterrupted views of beach and sea. I was priviledged to have seen a few breathtaking scenes at full moon and many starry starry nights. Its location in Bwejuu on the East Coast means that it has the added advantage of being away from mass tourism and the commercial element, whilst at the same time it is situated next to Crazy Muzungo's Bar & Restaurant (also a Vanilla arches enterprise) which offers a delectable array of fresh, creative dishes (some of the best food I have ever eaten (!!!) but unpretentious and very affordable) and seasonal entertainment on this strip. A supermarket in close proximity allows for provisions and other resorts can be reached on foot or by prearranged transport should you wish to experience other settings on the Island. What I liked about SBV was that I had tranquility and comfort together with the exposure to the humble culture of the native islanders, and I could socialize with like minded people when the need arose.

  Great location and tasty local food ,ice cold beer. prices are comparable to Sa , hence good for being in paradise. We were checked on daily by David to ensure all was good, would have liked access to bicycles (which are popular on the beach) in order to venture a little further than the bar. As it was our first trip to Zanzibar we wernt sure how to make the most of the time we had within budget ,felt that tours and excursions were pricy, but as we will be back we'll work on that.

  With regards to the comments on activities, we are investigating more organic and Direct Impact Tourism offers that eliminate the costs of agents'commission and give more to the communities involved.
  
  It is possible to hire Bicycles, it just depends on our guests level of comfort and conditions on the day.
  
  We have alo been exploring more affordable Safaris close to Zanzibar to offer guests more value for money.
