BrisbaneGreat place to get away
Left on 05/01/2013 for a stay in April 2013
We recently spent a couple of days at Slowdance. The house is very nice and well equipped with great access to the beach. The sub-tropical setting of the garden and outside areas are great for relaxing and getting lost in the sounds of the sea and local bird life. We had a great time and will be going back regularly.

BangkokComfortable, peaceful and a great spot on the beach
Left on 04/26/2013 for a stay in April 2013
Our family stayed here for a family reunion and the house was better than we expected.Spacious, comfortable, clean and tidy. The kitchen had most things we needed as we like to cook, and the BBQ was out to good use. The walk to the beach is about ten seconds long and the beach is stunning. We would definitely stay there again.

AdelaideOver exceeded expectations!

We booked Slowdance on a last minute whim for Easter '13. We were surprised and delighted that there was availability and the process from Trip advisor search, to arrival was seamless. the only unanticipated surprise was that the accommodation and facilities were so much better than we could have imagined. Certainly it seems impossible to be able to present all the amazing features on the website. The location suited us perfectly as we had 2 teenagers, a toddler and parents (7 of us), so proximity to the beach, shops, and local playground were ideal and it was so quiet and peaceful. I cannot wax lyrical enought about the house, especially the upstairs facilities. It is huge! There is a beautiful master suite, a lovely bathroom, another double bedroom, a queen bedroom downstairs, 2 family rooms downstairs (huge), an open plan dining area, a private retreat adjacent to the master suite (upstairs) and an amazing number of outdoor relaxation areas (including a hammock in the garden that delighted the children). Slowdance is on the beach, I mean, you walk down a delightful, short, shady, sandy path and you are on the beach...not just any beach but a stunning, secluded, enormous beach populated by dog walkers and kite surfers (Tallow). Always something to look at and beautiful Pacific with waves (toddler fine though). Outdoor shower reminiscent of Bali resort...in fact the whole place had a feel of an exclusive resort. the only thing we would do differently is put all the children downstairs next time and put the adults updtairs as the bathroom much nicer and the carpet made it cosier. Downstairs felt more like a teenagers retreat - in fact perfect for that (although the most stylish version I have seen!). It would comfortably sleep 8 and sleep 10 + baby/toddler quite easily. The little things like condiments in the cupboard, huge DVD selection, hats, childrens beach toys etc made all the difference. We would love to visit again. Thanks again for a lovely stay. Kelly

I have just returned from a four night girls weekend at beautiful Slowdance. The manager, Michael, left us fresh fruit, excellent local coffee and a bottle of wine; he was extremely helpful - the house was easy to find, quiet, clean and well maintained. We loved the location - on the beach - we could hear the waves from the bedroom, a short walk to great coffee, a ten minute drive into the "big smoke". The house is extremely comfortable - with lots of quiet nooks, to read, and plenty of room to be social. The established garden looking into the dunes is a real highlight, as was the big bath, lots of dvds and books. We all decided we would definitely come again!

France1 Week in Paradise
Left on 02/19/2013 for a stay in February 2013
We spent 1 week in this house with my family ,we are french , we were 8 it was just perfect!
The house is great, fully furnished (even coffee, tea) a bottle of wine was waiting for us :) , spacious, great BBQ, at the end of the garden you ll find the see with a private access to Tallow beach where we had jogging and long walk on the beach to the light house as well.
The house is far from the noise but not isolated at all.
The owner is very nice , he explained all to us, you ll need a car , scooter or bike to go to the center it is around 6 km.
Golf is like 3 km
Yes it was Paradise !

San FranciscoPerfect beach getaway
Left on 01/03/2013 for a stay in December 2012
Possibly the ideal relaxed beach house for groups around 6-8 desiring a quiet and luxurious beach vacation.
It's all about the balance...
1) Close enough to Byron for convenience - but far enough to be away from the crowds.
2) Right on the beach - but with a small bush corridor to ensure total privacy.
3) Beautifully landscaped - but still feels properly tropical, with a nature peeking around the edges.
4) Very well maintained property - but you don't feel like it's a showroom that can't be lived in.
5) Beautiful beach - but not one swarming with tourists.
The house has a great layout for dining, entertaining and relaxing - with many separate zones in the house where groups, couples or singles can have some space. Tallows beach is ideal for surfing, swimming, running, walking or just chilling out. Will definitely be back. -

A beautifully managed property to stay for any length of time in a lovely, quiet area which is not too far, nor too close to the Byron Bay action.
Huge place with plenty of options for lazing on ones own or being with friends/family and the kids loved it too!
Would highly recommend Slow Dance for family holidays, friends gathering etc (especially as have been there visiting friends in the past as a couple and now returning there with family).
Direct access to the beach, walking distance to all essential shops (supermarket, pharmacy, best bakery in Oz etc), kids playground around the corner and 10 minutes drive from everywhere you could possibly want to go in the area.
Very hard to leave after two weeks of bliss!

"We stayed in Slowdance Beachhouse in winter and it wouldn't matter what the weather was like - because you step through the door of that house and your holiday begins. Slowdance shows how architects can create joy. The inside and outdoors flow easily. The garden designer provided food flavours for garnishes: marjoram, oregano, mint or rocket to pick. Open the cupboards and the food blender's there - the kinds of things you don't pack in the suitcase. It started me on home made soup... or maybe open the games cupboard and convince some players to take you on in scrabble.
Enjoy watching the bush turkeys wander into the lush gardens and if you're 10 - maybe you'll softly follow behind and track it to the nesting ground. Watch the sunrise if you want - in the eastern facing main bedroom. To chill there's a hammock for reading; three shelves of excellent video choices for the big screen; then getting the laptop out for work there's so many spots with choices of decks from all the bedrooms.
The back gate takes you to a stretch of beach for early morning fitness or afternoon strolls - it's length as far as the eye can see. Ready for the cuppa? It's a short walk to get the papers and milk. Practical comforts are part of this holiday - fresh fruit in the bowls when we arrived; there's gas outdoor barbecues and gas indoor heating if you want it.
Slowdance on Tallow Beach is a few minutes by car from Byron Bay to tap into the vibe of this thriving town. We've brought back an african drum from Byron Bay to remind us of the Slowdance Beachhouse tempo." -

BrisbaneWe come here twice a year!
Left on 06/25/2012 for a stay in June 2012
A unique house which gives the potential to be enmasse with friends or find your own space in one of the many comfy hidy holes, inside or outside. Hot shower off the beach is brilliant and saves cleaning the endless sandy feet off the beach...which is only a hop skip and jump over the dunes away. A great DVD collection, wireless internet, and fully appointed kitchen means you can entertain adult style, or family style. We have stayed with 6 adults and 3 kids before, and it handled us with ease.

StockholmA Slowdance in Byron
Left on 06/15/2012 for a stay in November 2010
There is no better place to go and let life slowly dance its way back to you.
I live in Stockholm, Sweden (as far away as it gets...) and stayed at Slowdance in February 2009. Right there and then I decided to return and so did in November 2010. I will return again as soon as I get the chance.
At Slowdance Beachhouse it's constantly Friday afternoon. The wine is smooth and the people in Byron Bay are smiling. The burden upon ones shoulders somehow becomes less. There's no deadline dead enough to skip a good surf, and no clouds cloudy enough for the sun to yet caress you with a tan.
The only bad thing about Slowdance Beachhouse is that it's so hard to leave and return home...
I truly wish everyone got to experience Slowdance Beachhouse in Byron Bay.And you can.
