This luxury studio condominium is located within the renowned, high-end, beach-front Ocean Dream residential resort. Ocean Dream is located very close to the center of Cabarete, on the North Coast of the Dominican Republic.

You have access to a beautiful garden with its swimming-pool and you are only steps away from the beach. The ocean in front of Ocean Dream is great for swimming in the morning and perfect for kiteboarding in the afternoon. It is at the exact spot where the famous Kiteboarding World-cups are held.

LX stands for "luxury edition". The studio comes with extra bells and whistles compared to other rental studios in... the building. To mention a few: Mezzanine (extra 17m² / 180 sq.ft. for the sleeping quarters); private balcony (most other units have to share the balcony with another studio); private high-speed Internet (no sharing with others); 32" flat panel TV with over 80 channels + Netflix; house-cleaning included twice a week, sleeps 3 people (however please note that the studio is one open space and the 3rd person's bed is the sofa and not a real bed - it's great for visitors for a few days).

The Studio

• 67m² (720 sq. feet) living space

• Mezzanine: an extra 17 sq.feet (compared to neighboring studios that do not have a mezzanine)

• The sleeping quarter is in the mezzanine: Queen-size bed with a semi-firm to firm mattress

• The mezzanine allows a much bigger and more comfortable living-room

• Air-conditioning

• High speed WIFI Internet (private: you are not sharing with other users - it's always fast)

• 32" Sony Bravia flat-panel LCD TV

• Cable TV with over 80 channels. Lots of US channels (CNN, Fox, HBO, Disney just to name a few) but also many international channels

• AppleTV: you can watch Netflix (account is provided), and you can also see movies from the iTunes Store if you have you own Apple account

• Sony over-the-ear headphone (in case your partner wants to sleep in and you don't want to disturb him/her)

• Fantastic speakers for the iPhone/iPod/iPad:

• Fully equipped kitchen (all the usual stuff plus many things you do not get in other studios including a microwave and convection oven)

• house-cleaning twice per week

FAQ:

Q: How far is the grocery store?

A: The closest one called La Rosa about 300 meters/yards from Ocean Dream. This you can easily do on foot. There is a bigger one (and less expensive too) about 1.3km (0.8 miles) on the other side of the center of Cabarete. You'd usually go by moto-taxi that costs about 50 cents per person each way.

Q: Are there any restaurants around Ocean Dream.

A: There is certainly not lacking. Just to mention a few... You also have several great and inexpensive restaurants within 50 yards from Ocean Dream. A great TexMex, the best real Italian pizza ever, fantastic Sushi, an American fast food (hamburger), a very fine Italian-Caribbean fusion restaurant called Bliss: I highly recommend that one. On the beach there is another fine, up-scale restaurant at the neighboring Millennium Resort. And, of course, several Dominican cuisine restaurants. All within a 50 meter/yard radius.

Q: How far is it to the center of Cabarete where the famous beach restaurant and bar scene is located?

A: Just far enough so you do not hear any of the noise that comes from there at the studio. But also very close: It is easily accessible by walking on the beach (5 to 10 minutes: 500 meters/yards). Or you can take the moto-taxi for 20 pesos per person (about 50 cents).

Q: What about laundry?

A: There is a laundry service on the second floor of building. It operates Mondays to Fridays (times change so I rather not give you precise hours). A big load costs DR$250 (about US$6.50) - a nice guy does all the work for you.

Q: Is the studio located ocean-front and/or does it have ocean-view?

A: No, neither. The studio is located within an ocean-front complex called Ocean Dream but the studio itself is not in an ocean-front building, nor does it have a view to the ocean. Neither will you pay the price for such a luxury. However, as you are within the ocean-front complex you do not have to cross any road, you can go shoeless or with your kite-gear to the ocean without any problems. Cabarete is a small, dynamic Caribbean beach village located only 20 minutes away from the Puerto Plata International Airport on the northern shore of the Dominican Republic. It's a perfect tropical vacation spot. The village of Cabarete is spread out across the center of a gorgeous, semi-circular beach of golden, sun-soaked, sand. Just behind, limiting its size, lies a tranquil lagoon, backed up by richly verdant hills overflowing with luxurious tropical vegetation.

These make Cabarete an exceptional location not only for water-sports such as kiteboarding and windsurfing, but for regular surfing at El Encuentro beach as well.

Cabarete is also the perfect place to just lay back to work on that perfect tan. It's the best thing to do when you're not out gliding over warm Caribbean waters, or participating in some other fun adventure sport such as mountain-biking, scuba-diving, wakeboarding or cascading.

And Cabarete's nightlife (restaurants, bars, discos and casino) is legendary.

  I have stayed in Ocean Dream before (my favourite resort in Cabarete) and LX is amazing (for up to 3 persons).
  
  Service:
  Booking was a breathe. The owner sent us a FaQ list that answered every question we could think of and more (we already knew Ocean Dream - but for those that don't, it's a big +). The service by the manager alex and the maid is also unbeatable. From the check-in to check-out, and everything in between. You can call him at any time and he speaks 5 or 6 languages (amazing guy). The owner wrote a "super convenient" instruction manual for just about everything that would need it in the studio. I wish I could give 6 stars for the service.
  
  The Studio:
  Well, it's not called LX for nothing: this place is full of little luxuries. Of course, what stands out is the mezzanine. I just love it. To retreat to the mezzanine to sleep... I think it is far better than a 1-bedroom apartment. Nice TV, more channels than you could ever afford at home, Netflix (on appleTV), amazing speakers for iPhone/iPad (I bought myself the same system as soon as I got back home), super equipped kitchen, the sofa is extremely comfortable, everything in that place is just great. Another 6 stars.

  The studio itself is on the top floor (which allows for the mezzanine) of Ocean Dream (OD). I love OD. Why better than Ocean One which is much more crammed. Od has a very low density. It has become like a second center of Cabarete. There is so much going on in terms of restaurants and shops all around OD. We liked it so much all around we only went once to eat on the main restaurant strip on the beach. And, of course, it is the place where all the Kiteboarding World Championships take place. Right in front of OD. Oh, and the swimming pool: great for grown-ups and kids.
  
  I will definitely come back to LX. It is now my home away from home. I've booked my dates twice per year for the next two years.
