  We didn't really know what to expect but we had heard that Sea Horse Ranch is the best place to stay on the North Shore, a much smaller and more intimate Casa de Campo. In fact we found the villa to be better appointed and the complex is so quiet and serene that we just relaxed the whole time. We only made it to Cabarete at the end of our stay so we will have to go back again because we had a private chef and we were so happy with the onsite restaurant as well that we kept postponing any outings! We did use the Beach Club pools for the kids as they have a great pool for little kids and the adults ordered mojitos from the adjacent restaurant. Speaking of the restaurant the owners or operators were so nice and accomodating and let our kids run around... we were not mortified at all, well a little when my nephew screamed through most of the meal! We will miss Johannie(spelling?) and her great disposition, she was our own maid for the entire week 8 hours a day! So nice not to pay extra housekeeping fees or anything and we left the villa upside down the day of departure...no rules about stripping the beds or anything, a great relief from other villa experiences but we have decided villa vacations are actually a great value with family. We ate fresh and healthy and did no dishes.
