You have uninterrupted views of Doubtless Bay and are only a few paces from the surf and golden sand of Cable Bay. Waterfront in Doubtless Bay Northland New Zealand. Here you can get away from the crowds and commune with nature. Minimal street lighting means the starry sky seems close enough to touch! his accommodation is a one hour drive North of the Bay of Islands with far superior beaches. Or flights to Kaitaia are a mere 20 minute drive away. Rental cars and 4x4 SUV are available for hire if needed, from Whangarei, Kerikeri or the Bay of Islands and from Kaitaia.
Doubtless Bay is a 4 hour drive north of Auckland or a 40 minute flight form Auckland.

We love this place so much we return whenever we can throughout the year! Large, north-facing deck overlooking Doubtless Bay. Whales and dolphins sometimes come in to play! Great service. Clean and tidy apartment. Accommodation suits small children well.The fabulous washing facilities make it a real holiday for Mum as well as the rest of the family. Large showers with plenty of hot running water.Great heating and air conditioning mean the temperature is always just right. Close beach proximity means Mum and Dad can sit on the deck, safely observe the children build castles on the sand only metres away and have a glass of wine while they watch the sun set. Plenty of local attractions to see and do but the beach and nearby rock pools keep us entertained for hours. We can never stay long enough.

What an awesome spot! Truly magical, can't get better than stepping out of a morning straight onto the golden sandy beach, apartments are well appointed we wanted for nothing, fish were biting, kids had a great time on the beach even on a cloudy day.
Hosts were fantastic, Rosemary, Brian and Rochelle thanks for your fabulous hospitality.

We spent two nights in Cable Bay and loved our accommodation. The two bedroom beach accommodation is right on the beach and next to a playground which was great for the kids (we have four !!). We also very much appreciated the interior design which is in the art Deco style. We met Rosemary and her husband briefly and they were very friendly and helpful. All in all a perfect place and we would definitely recommend it.

We rocked up, there was no messing arround opened up the deck chairs and started to relax with a pimms in hand.
It was like being at home but with the most amazing view.
I loved the bathroom so cool and I didnt want to leave the beds ,they were more comfortable than ours at home.
can't wait to come back next year. -

Golden Sand apartments on the water's edge at Cable Bay is our idyllic home away from home. We have stayed at the apartments 7 out of the last 8 Christmas'.
The apartments are very comfortable with great amenities.
The view from the front deck is awesome with the beach only meters away. We particularly enjoy sitting on the deck chairs and watching the moon on a balmy summers night.
Our favourite attractions in the area are; the many amazing beaches, from the red/golden sand at Cable Bay to the white, white sand at Puheke. Tokerau Beach is great for shellfish gathering, kite fishing, swimming etc. The calm waters on the East Coast and the surf on the West Coast provide plenty of variety.
The guys are passionate about fishing and there are many options and boat ramps available close by.
Our children have been coming here from young and are now in their teens, they love it here.
Nearby in Mangonui are fabulous restaurants and cafes, our favourites being, Waterfront Cafe, Acorn Bar and Bistro and Post Office Cafe. Another 'must do' on our list is the famous Mangonui Fish Shop. Karikari Estate Winery has amazing views, wines and food and is always a must for a 'girls' outing at least once each holiday (we sometimes let the boys come too).
Our hosts Rosemary and Brian are fabulous and have a great wealth of information about the area and fishing spots.

Beautiful and breath-taking spot being so close to the beach. Handy to other locations.
The appartment has everything you need.. ranging from the handtowels to the washing machine/dryer.
