Spacious clifftop house with 180 degree views over Doubtless Bay (far north New Zealand).
Sorella House can either be booked as an exclusive bed and breakfast, hosted by internationally known artist Rebecca Shawyer, or as a delightful vacant possession holiday home. This fully furnished comfortable 3 bedroom home is positioned on the cliff-tops directly above the breaking waves of Cable Bay. The accommodation can sleep 5 adults in 3 separate bedrooms; master bedroom with king size bed, queen bed bedroom with ensuite bathroom and a single bed room. Sorella House is a private retreat with amazing ocean views afforded by its location on the cliffs above the Cable Bay waters. At night the sounds of the ocean waves breaking on the rocks below the cliffs is a constant reminder of the magic of being close to the ocean.
Cable Bay is one of the premier beaches in holiday paradise of Doubtless Bay. Guests at Sorella House are only a 5 minute walk form the golden sands of Cable Bay.
A 10 minute drive brings visitors to the quaint historic village of Mangonui with art and craft galleries and cafes.
The region of Doubtless Bay is a 1 hour drive north from the Bay of Islands or approximately 300kms north of Auckland. Air New Zealand has daily flights from Auckland to the Bay of Islands.

We really enjoyed our stay at Sorella. The house is well equipped and spacious with unusual artwork and sculptures. We loved having Rebecca Shawyer, a very talented ceramic sculptress, on site and being able to visit her Unique art gallery situated on the drive apart from the house. As soon as you enter the house you are embraced by the wonderful views over Doubtless Bay and from the main deck area the views are breathtaking. We especially enjoyed the Wednesday night yacht race from Mangonui Harbour that sailed so close we could almost reach out and touch them!
We were blessed with fantastic weather and were able to sit on the main deck each night eating our BBQ before falling into bed to be lulled asleep by the waves on the rocks below.
If you want a quiet and peaceful getaway with really stunning views this is the place for you.

It was a privilge to stay in Sorella house.Every possible thing you could wish for was there.Beautiful views .Immaculate linen,amazing art work by Becky.Nothing was too much trouble.We stayed two nights and wished we could have stayed longer.If you require views,comfort and cleanliness this is the place for you.It would be difficult to pick out any one thing we liked and there was certainly nothing we didn't like.Bruce very kindly sent on some items I had inadvertently left behind.

Sorella House is situated in an idyllic location overlooking Doubtless Bay;a view that would rival anything we have experienced in Europe.
In 5 minutes one can walk to Cable Bay and a 5 minute drive takes you to Coopers Beach.There is a supermarket for supplies and the historic little village of Mangonui, complete with restaurants and pub is reminiscent of a French village.
The house is spacious, the atmosphere tranquil,and when you sit out on the decks with a barbecue meal and glass of wine you experience complete privacy as you overlook the vast expanse of Cable Bay.
The house is spotless and well equipped and if occasionally there is inclement weather you can listen to your music or read from literally the hundreds of books available.

Sorella House is a wonderful place to stay with its fantastic ocean views and very comfortable surroundings. The house is of a very high standard of comfort and spotlessly clean. The beds were so comfortable it was a bit of a struggle to get up in the morning but the great view did provided incentive. Bruce & Becky are just the best hosts you could wish for, nothing is too much trouble. I cannot rate Sorella House highly enough and we will most definitely be back as soon as time allows. Thankyou for a lovely time and every success for the future.
