We stayed at the Castillo over Thanksgiving, and couldn't have asked for a better experience. Normally we are the type of family that ventures out to restaurants/bars and the like during vacations, but the Castillo was so serene, we found ourselves hiring a chef every night. We were cooked amazing local fare (and our catch from a day of fishing out of a marina only ten minutes away), at a price cheaper than any restaurant! It is right on a gorgeous, private beach with warm, swimmable (undertow is a bit strong) water. Huge, comfortable beds. We have a 3 year old daughter who was in absolute heaven. Between the pool, sand, and sea shells, it was clear she never wanted to leave. The only issue is the drive into San Jose. It is a slow, winding, road with many potholes from flash floods. But why leave the grounds! Sun Cabo is a wonderfully attentive company, there to cater your every whim. Leslie was there to answer any question, and ensure our trip was perfect.

Oakland, CAPerfect beachfront house, amazing outdoor pool area, fantastic e

Just returned tonight from 5 beautiful days at the Castillo Escondido. The house is a perfect 4 bedroom house w/ ocean views from every room. The outdoor living space is what this house is all about. Infinity heated pool , ocean front, hot tub, fire pit, palapa living room, & terraces off the bedrooms. There is a family room / open kitchen that we loved. But the true gem is how everything can be done outdoors. The four bedrooms all have lovely pillow top beds. (none of those horrible hard mexican mattresses!) The Villa is run by two lovely people who are there to help you, run an errand and make you feel right at home. This is ocean front w/ beach access for runs, walks and sunning. Beautiful long beach. Give it 5 stars. Thanks Judy and Michael .. and of course Blanca.

We arrived at the airport and were greeted by our driver. He drove the 6 of us, which consisted of two couple, a one year old and a Grandma, to our destination. The drive took about 35 minutes. Mostly paved road but as we got closer, about 15 minutes from Castillo Escondido, the road becomes a dirt road.
The house is breath taking. It is extremely private and if you are looking for a place where you can lounge around, enjoy time by the pool or on a nicely secluded beach, then you can't go wrong by staying here. If you are looking to be close to town, it is a 15 minute drive from anywhere (San Jose Del Cabos) and a 45 minute drive from Cabos. Either way it is a wonderful place to stay. Very quiet, very beautiful and exactly like it looks in the pictures.
Every morning, the house keeper, Blanca, comes in. She is so kind and always had smiles for our little girl. I enjoyed getting up and saying hello to her in the mornings.
The owners are also very friendly. They live on the property in their own house and stopped by every now and then to say hello and see if we needed anything.
We stocked up on groceries for the days we didn't want to drive to a restaurant. we ended up leaving quite a bit of food behind as we ate out more than we expected. There were also plenty of condiments already at the house when we arrived.
Each room is very private. With the sliding glass doors closed you can't hear a thing, with them open, you hear the waves crashing against the shore.
The cost is pricey in my opinion. Although if you go with 4 couples it would be more cost effective. Really if you can afford it, this is the way to go. It surpasses any hotel experience you could find. No comparison.
All in all, we all had a wonderful time, and plan to return next year. By then there will be two more babies along for the ride, and probably another grandparent or two, tagging along.
Thank you to Mike, Judy, Blanca and Leslie for a wonderful time. -

This outstanding house - along with the wonderful services offered by
Sun Cabo - combined to create the "vacation of a lifetime" for our
family. It was the most beautiful place we have ever been on vacation
and the people at Sun Cabo made avery little thing just perfect for our
family. It was a very special trip for our family and we could not have
wished for anything more. The waves were a blast! It was one of the
best weeks of my life - I hope we are lucky enough to go back some
day. Honestly - a dream vacation. -

9 of us stayed in this perfect getaway location. The house was beautiful, clean and down right perfect. We had the house stocked with food, a chef, maid service everyday is offered and we had the spa co. come right to the house. The ocean sounded all night, sometimes too loud. The undertoe was strong even for grown men..so be careful w/ children. The front bedroom lower level gets stuffy at night, the other 3 rooms are perfect for sleeping. No exercise room. We would definately go back...Cannot go wrong here.

The house and the property mangers were wonderful. The views
stunning and the whale watching endless! Running on this very quiet
beach was an added bonus. A great get away for couples or a large
family with children 7 and older.
Although we had pre ordered the food in the house, sun cabo failed to
have this done but the property managers came through and helped
us solve the problem.
All and all A wow experience! A side of Mexico we've necer seen
before!
