It's a bit late in coming for this review, and better late than never. The Villa had everything we needed and we enjoyed sitting out on the patio best of all when not enjoying the many activities. The Villa was just as advertised, great location with a view that will last a life time.
Less than three days before we arrived in Cabo a very unusual down pour of rain dropped 40" from nowhere causing road ways and streets with much sand. They rain also caused the Villa's washer and dryer to short out so we were without them. The owner provided us with laundry picked up by Tino and his family. They had it ready the nest day just like clock work. Tino and his family were very helpful with any question we had and they done a splendid clean job every other day.
The only thing we had an issue with was the stairs from the street to the house. One of our friends that were with us had a bad hip which made it difficult for him to climb. This should be disclosed in the advertisement.
We are headed back for our second stay at the Villa in two weeks if that means anything to you, yea!

I recommend this villa to anyone! Was way better than we expected. Pool and hot tub were great. Could heat the hot tub up within 15 min anytime we wanted it. Had a laundry room that was nice. Cleaning lady was there for a few hours every other day and did way more than was expected. The walk into town and the harbor was very short, perfect location!!! Gated community where we felt very safe! Can't say enough about it, loved it! Cabo in general is now on our 'return to' list every year.

My husband and I stayed @ Villa Serrana Feb. 2013. Without question- this was the highlight of our vacation. Serrana isn't fancy- but comfortable and 'homey' with everything we needed for an enjoyable vacation. We loved the pool,jacuzzi,outdoor grill, and the beautiful view. We spent most our time there. The serenity of Pedregal gave us the relaxing time we were looking for. We did miss our king size bed but the queen was comfortable with nice pillows. All the staff (Nik, Victor, Tino, Maria) were efficient and accommodating to our needs. Internet however-off more than on. All in all this place is a 'keeper'. Thanks to all. We will be back.

This villa definitely has a fantastic homey feel to it with the additional benefits not often available in a home such as a pool, jacuzzi and more. Please keep this in mind when booking this villa, other villas and resorts in Cabo: Internet signal is not always at its best; this isn't specific to this villa. Villa Serrana is very relaxing...The Villa is in walking distance to everywhere. My sister and I walked everyday we were there and did not have to get a cab. This Villa is great for a small group. from the patio you can see a great sunset and it is very quiet in the evening. The pool is located outside of the bedroom,which made it perfect. There was nothing we did not like about this perfect place. Pryer to our arrival, there was a flood in the laundry room,which rendered the use of it, but this was not a problem. Tino the property manager picked up our laundry and returned them cleaned and folded. This is what we love about the Essv staff, they will always take care of any problems you have. the next time we have a small group,we will be staying at Villa Serrana (the perfect Villa)

This was our second stay at Villa Serrana. What a wonderful home! This time was for our second honeymoon. The villa is private and comfortable for a couple, close enough to the city center and waterfront for a casual stroll day or night to get you to and from the action, romantic restaurants, everything! Our first stay was with our young children, and we found the home very comfortable and inviting for our family getaway as well.
Victor, our concierge, saw to it that our advance reservations were in place, and he helped us get into a last-minute sunset dinner cruise too. He is very helpful and always pleasant.
We highly recommend Villa Serrana and Earth, Sea & Sky Vacations. -

This is the third time we have booked a vacation with cabovillas. Our stay at Villa Serrana was perfect. The house was beautiful and the atmosphere was perfect for a relaxing vacation in paradise. We loved the pool and patio.
The villa is a short walk into town. Cabo is a delightful town with great restaurants, night spots and entertainment. We walked to town every day and enjoyed the warmth and friendliness of this wonderful town. We always felt safe and comfortable. The Marina was always full of life; there is so much to see and do.
As for the villa and staff, we could not have asked for more. The maid is a delight. The Essv staff always helpful and prompt in meeting our requests. We pre-stocked the kitchen and everything was ready when we arrived. In addition, we did shopping at the stores in town; therefore, we enjoyed delicious steaks on the grill.
What a pleasure it is to have the professional staff take care of the arrangements. All you have to do is relax. We had requested "noodles" for the swimming pool. We knew they may be hard to find, but there they were at the pool when we arrived.
In the past, we have used the spa services and found them excellent and reasonably priced. What a joy to have them come to the villa!
And, we must recognize the professional staff that helped us arrange our trip. Nik and Julie were great.
As mentioned above, this was our third trip to Cabo. In addition to Villa Serrana, we have stayed at Mira Flores and Casa Tequila. Every trip has exceeded our expectations. We plan on coming back next year and may even come out again in February.
Cabo is an exceptional vacation destination. It truly represents Mexico at its best. We live in Baltimore, and, I have to say We felt perfectly safe and at home. We were perfectly at ease walking around Cabo and Pedregal at night. Something we couldn't say about Baltimore!
We highly recommend a vacation in Cabo and a stay at Villa Serrana. -

Villa Serrana was wonderful! ... just what my husband and I and our friends (another couple) were looking for ... to be able to stay together versus hotel rooms. The pool area was paradise! We would definitely stay there again when we return to Cabo.
Our villa concierge was Victor. He was great ... very helpful. When we arrived at our villa, Victor was there with blue margaritas which were enjoyed by everyone (except Victor, of course)! One of the services Victor offered us (and we accepted numerous times) was for us to call his cell number when we wanted a taxi to pick us up at our villa. He then had a taxi there within 10 to 15 minutes every time.
One thing to be aware of: In the pictures of the villa on the website, it does not show the tall, white building that blocks part of the view of the ocean from the villa's pool area. It doesn't block it completely, but we were surprised to see it there since the pictures didn't show it. The website pictures should be updated so there are no surprises. But even so, it was still a great view, and we would stay there again.
One night we had dinner prepared in our villa by chef, Francisco, of Denni's Catering. It was wonderful! Francisco did a wonderful job, and the food was excellent. Since we wanted to dine at the table by the pool, Francisco prepared sea bass on the outdoor grill and then prepared everything else in the kitchen. He did a great job of cleaning up ... you couldn't even tell he had been there! We would definitely do that again (and probably more than once).
Miranda from Essv was very helpful with everything ... reserving our villa, arranging transportation (including a stop at Costco on the way to our villa), arranging our chef dinner, etc. ... right down to promptly answering questions like, "will there be dish soap in the villa?".
When we take another trip to Cabo San Lucas, we will stay at Villa Serrana again!

A wonderful holiday in a pleasant villa, in a lovely quiet location yet very close to town (5 minutes walk.) The agent was at the villa when we arrived and was most helpful in showing us around and providing all the contact numbers we could need if we had any problems. The facilities at the vila are excellent however not everyone is a coffee drinker and there was no kettle. The pool was wonderful and heated which is where we spent most of our time.
I do feel that the gardener, maid and pool guy every other day is a little excessive, especially as the gardener is there for about 3 hours, a little off putting when you want to relax by the pool.
One rather unpleasant shock, was the view, all of the brochure pictures (for all of the villa's in this area) are old and a new building has been constructed on the marina directly in line of sight from the villa. This building is very large and can only be described as an eyesore, marring what was once obviously a wonderful view.

staying at Villa Serrena in Cabo was as I titled it. A little piece of Peace and Serenity on Earth. It was the perfect place for what we were all looking for. It was beautiful, nicely located in wonderful Pedregal and the service was excellent. Everything we needed or wanted was met by our villa concierge. also the Essv team took time to tour us in more villas because we are already planning another vacation back to Cabo next year. i would suggest that everyone move away from the hotel scene and book through Essv to have their own place with real service, a pool and view:)

This was our first stay at this villa. We have stayed at Mira Flores and thought nothing could top it but we all loved the pool and Jacuzzi being right next to the palapa and outdoor grill - where we practically lived for the week!
The service was fantastic and the concierge and property manager were quick to respond to our questions.
This was the most relaxing vacation I have had in years as we spent most of the time by the pool and went into town once a day for lunch - even got in some gambling at the Royal Casino! We were all lucky :-)
We stopped at Costco on the way to the villa and made a trip the next day to Wal-Mart for fresh fruit and veggies. We ate most meals at the villa thus making this an inexpensive trip as well!
Although we love the layout of Mira Flores better, we would stay here again just for the outside pool area.
The walk to town is easy albeit downhill much of the way but we always grabbed a taxi back up the hill. We highy recommend the Caborey Sunset Dinner Cruise which we take every visit. The cost may seem high but the food is fantastic, the floor show is fun and the free drinks flow as nicely as the band playing on the open top deck. The only complaint we have is that there is a new, huge complex being built near the entrance to Pedrgal which blocked out some of our view. -

Our recent stay at Villa Serrana, was everything we had hoped for and more. The house is very clean, and Tino was most helpful. We appreciated the kitchen ammenities, and wanted for nothing during our 11 day stay!
The ouside kitchen was used daily and the pool area is gorgeous!
Thanks to the staff who made this home perfect for the three of us.
The pictures of this house do not do it justice, esp. the exterior - we will definately be back. -

This location is great to walk into downtown Cabo. The morning view is breath taking from the bedrooms and pool.
If there was a negativity....i would say the 2 18-TV's. That did bother us since we wanted to watch the Mayweather-Mosley boxing match. The TV's need to be upgrade as well as DVD players. We did need or watch the TV's other than that 1 night. -

The service recieved was great. I found the concierge to be helpful when needed; however, I felt he would show up unannounced each day and walk right into the back yard. He left plenty of ways to contact him so I didnt think it was appropriate for him to come each day.
Other than that small complaint, the home was beautiful, clean, and had an outstanding location. It was perfect size for two couples or 4 persons. The Pedregal complex was extremely close to the downtown and only a short boat ride from the beach which made everything convienent and simple.
Our favorite part about our stay was meals under the tiki hut and using the outdoor grill. The hot tub was an added bonus for the more chilly nights. -

A great location, and nicepish home, with these issues:
1. We had arranged for the Earth, Sea and Sky representative to meet us at the Hertz pickup location near the airport. When we arrived there, on time, we found that Fernando had been to the Hertz office, asked if we had arrived, was told no, then left without saying where he'd be or how to contact him. We hung around for a 90 minutes at the Hertz office, while Hertz staff kindly located Fernando and he arrived to lead us to Villa Serrana. What is MUCH WORSE than Fernando keeping us waiting, was that when we first arrived to find the ESS rep missing, we placed calls to ESS's alleged 24x7 emergency line, Nik Reye's number (the ESS person through whom we booked the villa), and the local ESS office in Cabo (who's number we tracked down through Hertz). This was around 3pm on Saturday 19th. NONE of these 3 messages resulted in a call-back from anyone at ESS. In fact, the only time anyone from ESS contacted us during our stay was on the final day to remind us of check-out time. Shabby, shabby, shabby!
2. The villa itself was just OK (1970s vibe). The pool looked fabulous, but the water was too cold to actually use the pool. The local villa manager, Timo, said we couldn't use the heater (or that it wasn't connected). The hot tub was also faulty: as soon as it reached set temperature, it switched to pumping cold water in. Timo brought in a technician who agreed it was faulty, but could not be fixed locally.
3. Chef Carmen, from A Matter Of Taste, was excellent, although all pricing is based on a minimum of 4 persons, so if you're only 2 persons (like we were), you have to pay for 4.Response from Cabo San Lucas Mexico Vacation Rentals - 03/04/2010

Thank you for your message. We did receive this customer's phone call and tried MANY times to call him back without being able to connect to his US cell phone. We also had Fernando at the correct Hertz location within 15 minutes of receiving the phone call with a message from our me that we had received his voicemail and acted on it.
We do not work with Hertz and the address that this customer emailed to us for the Hertz location was the incorrect location. Fernando started at the Hertz at the airport, was told this customer did not have a reservation, went to the other Hertz office in San Jose and then returned to the airport location due to our call to him.
This customer also spoke with our Cabo Representative Julianne upon arrival to the house and she expressed our apologies for the mis-connection.
Had we been advised of the pool problem, we certainly would have had it resolved during the clients stay. We are very sorry that this customer did not enjoy his stay but we are available to our customers to resolve issues and always do our best to ensure issues are dealt with quickly and efficiently. -

The 4 of us (2 couples)stayed in Villa Serrana for 6 nights and had the best time. The Villa was immaculate, comfortable and exactly as described. Bedrooms were comfortable, AC in each room, wireless internet throughout the house, washer/dryer, etc... bathrooms were clean had water purifiers on each faucet, showers were great, too. Backyard, pool & hot tub were awesome - the best part of the house! It even had an outdoor kitchen - which we used everyday!
Location was perfect - a short taxi ride to wherever you want to go. The building manager and staff were extremely helpful and accommodating.
Overall it was perfect and anything that wasn't was easily fixed / managed by the staff. The only thing that would have made it better is if we knew which entrance into Pedregal to take as my taxi (first time, straight from the airport) got lost and I couldn't help direct. -

I would like to review the Villa Serrana but also personally thank some individuals also...won't write much about Cabo (check it online) but will say it's an awesome place and loved it!
We booked our accommodation (Villa Serrana in Pedregal, Cabo) through 'Earth, Sea & Sky Vacations' and were not disappointed. The photos of the Villa looked excellent on the website but we were wary of that as photos can be deceiving (we've been stung elsewhere!) but it reality, it was better than expected, at a fair price too. I couldn't believe it was only 3 Star Accommodation for what we paid because it was luxury to us (3 of us stayed there)...great air conditioning, fantastic pool & hot-tub, BBQ, loungers, fully furnished (inc all kitchen utensils, dishes, glasses etc) nice decor, comfortable bedrooms, plenty storage and most importantly, very clean throughout.
Any problems we had (we accidentally smashed the glass on a french door resulting in one person being rushed to A&E, where he received immediate treatment and cheaply too - thanks Hector!) were dealt with straight away by the owner, Tino and was also cheap to fix. Tino was very polite and always helpful.
Also, would like to thank our concierge, Hector Reyes, who was incredibly attentive - showing us places, giving advice and just a very genuine person (Margaritas on arrival were most welcome too, thanks!) and great laugh. He also recommended Adrian (Chef) & Manulo from 'A Matter of Taste' who cooked seared Tuna for us at our Villa - truly remarkable and great guys, thanks.
Most importantly, i would like to thank Marsa Kelly (ESSV) from California whom we booked the whole thing through - she was always quick to respond to e-mails, always polite, jovial and a pleasure to deal with...very forthcoming with her knowledge and advice which was great, made me relax and feel at ease.
Lastly, we booked Fishing through 'Pisces' but were let down one of the days badly and they didn't want to help us so won't use them again.
