Cabrera is located 42 miles away from Cabarete and 20 miles away from Nagua. It is a lovely town, not reached by tourism of mass and a very charming and colorful place. The urban population is around 5,000.
The Dominican people will warmly welcome you in this beautiful fishing & farming village. Cabrera is also one of the jovial towns of the country, with tropical & colorful houses everywhere.
Cabrera is a destination for nature lovers... and also for rest and relaxation seekers! The beaches are incredible (don't miss Playa Caleton, the perfect beach and a true paradise on earth). Surf masters will prefer Playa Grande, an amazing fine sand beach with fantastic waves.
Cabrera is an absolutely incredible find, almost 11 acres of beautiful land with unending beach frontage. With white sand beaches on one side of you and tropical mountains on the other, this is all but impossible to duplicate!!! Towns like Cabrera are very hard to find and special in every way. Cabrera is about 1 hour from the international airport in Puerto Plata (POP).

I was unable to make the trip to the SeaDog, but it was as easy as it gets to get things taken care of. I had some last minute events that required me to cancel the trip, but the owner was understanding. There was no problem with getting the deposit back. I've had to cancel a couple of vacations in the past, and it was headache after headache. It's nice to have something go so smooth. Although I couldn't make it this time, on the next trip to DR I will definitely book the SeaDog. It's reassuring to know things can be handled so well.

This vacation was a great experience for my family and friends. The house is about an hour and a half from the airport which gives you a lot of scenery to see along the way.The house itself is tucked away along the ocean, a spectacular view. The crushing of the waves along the cliffs made it a peaceful sleep environment. We spent 90% of our time out by the pool and outside bar which is amazing. Decorated with whalebone and nautical decor it made such a great place to be. The house is spacious and accommodating for all of us. The staff was amazing and really gracious. Natalia, Sandy and Milan catered to our every need and then some! We felt cared for at all times. There is even a night security man on the grounds which made us feel safe at all times. Maximo Filleted an awesome dauphin for dinner.
The meals were prepared every day with fresh ingredients, the best meal service I've ever had.
The surrounding village is small and family oriented it's not a tourist area whatsoever it was very relaxing for us. We went to the crystal-clear lagoon we went snorkeling, beaches are great and the surrounding area has a lot of outdoor activities involving water. You have constant care and contact from the staff and the owner we never felt like we were left alone or had to fend for ourselves.
A few things you might want to keep in mind it is an island so you do have issues with power at times, There is battery backups so nothing to worry about. The beds were little hard but when you're sleeping with open windows for the ocean breeze and the crushing of the water on the cliffs, it didn't bother me one bit.
Felon was not only our driver he took care of our every need the entire week, took Us to places, explained things so we could understand the area and culture... he was truly a great guy. On our last night he helped us throw an awesome party.
I would definitely stay here again.
P.s. We enjoyed the house dog and the cat that came around daily they made our stay more enjoyable.

We spent 3 wonderful nights at the Seadog Inn and are already planning our return. The house and property are gorgeous and exceeded our expectations. The owner was very helpful in answering all our questions before arrival, and the staff was terrific. We were pleased to find that the kitchen was well stocked, and they provided the little things (hand, dish, and shower soap are the ones that come to mind) that often rentals in the DR are missing.
My group lives here in the DR, and the beaches nearby are among the most beautiful we have seen in country. We loved Playa Caleton and Playa Grande. My daughter enjoyed searching for rocks and sea glass on the beach below the house, and watching the snails that populated the rocks.
We were 5 couples with a few kids, and we felt as if we had room to spare. I would recommend this property to anyone. We can't wait to go back. -

It is hard to find a more spectacular view on the Dominican North Coast than Casa Seadog. Affordable and adjacent to Cabrera, my favorate small town in the Caribean. Whether you are having drinks at the Bone Bar (it actually incorporates whale bones into it's design) having enjoying the oceanside pool, your stress will simply evaporate. If you want to enjoy a private paradise, this is the spot!

The Seadog Inn has beautiful view with a spacious and comfortable house. On an amazing little cove with a coral beach, the Seadog is equipped with a hospitable and friendly staff and the most amazing tour guide if you decide you need to leave the gorgeous space to see some amazing stuff in the area. Take a swim in the infinity pool that looks out to sea or just relax at the bone bar and grill some of the most amazing fish, chicken, or beef you have ever had. Laugh at the plethora of Jimmy Buffetesque placards such as " We don't serve women here, you must bring your own", or drink some local Rum and soak the rays. If you seek an unsaturated tourist experience I highly recommend the Seadog Inn in the beautiful quaint sea town of Cabrera. My only complaint is I wish I had more time there.

The resort is expertly maintained and well appointed. The grounds are expertly maintained and very inviting. We recommend anyone desiring to spend time at a relaxing and private resort to try this one.

This was a repeat trip. The accommodations were 1st rate. The view is breath taking. The town is a short walk away and the locals are very friendly. I shall return!
