Town: Caernarfon is one of the most historical towns in the United Kingdom: there are few others who can claim to have been continually inhabited since Stone Age times. Evidence of its history is most evident in the famous Caernarfon Castle, which began its construction in 1283 as a fortress, a seat of government and a home for royalty. The town itself is the site of many events and festivals throughout the year, such as the UK Strong Man Competition, the Caernarfon Festival and meetings of the North Wales Automobile Club. The Welsh Highland Railway offers trips through the region, where you can begin to fully appreciate the splendour of the region and you can take a boat out on a fishing trip from the local harbour. The town itself is well-served by restaurants and shops and its close proximity to the local beaches offer the chance to get the best of coast and country.Read more

My elderly parents and I received a very warm welcome on our arrival at this beautiful little cottage. Unfortunately for us, our car was off the road for six days from the second day of our holiday and we remain ever grateful to our hosts for their care and support throughout the week. Nothing was too much trouble. The cottage and its facilities was perfect for us, comfortable and very well equipped to the highest standard. Without a car, it was challenging as buses are far and few between but thanks to the Wi-fi connectivity, we were able to search for amenities within walking distance such as the lovely garden centre for Sunday lunch and locate taxis to enable us to get out and about. The cottage was peaceful and tranquil enough to simply 'stay home' and enjoy the rest for some days. My dog and I got to know the local lanes on foot and the local characters too; the beauty of the local nature reserve by the sea and the amazing sunsets were breath taking.
I look forward to returning to TY TWM for many more relaxing holidays with my family and our dog.

We enjoyed our week in this homely cottage. The location is good for walking, including climbing Snowdon, which you can see from the cottage. The kitchen/diner is spacious and very well equipped. We also enjoyed the wifi.
