Comfortable Beach House on the Coral Sea, tucked away in a secluded beachside village only 15 min's from the CBD/downtown. There is a 25 metre heated/cooled pool and a large spa in an ultra private tropical garden setting.
All the comforts of home: well equipped kitchen, dishwasher, ice maker fridge/freezer, wide screen TV, high speed internet connection (bring your own laptop to access), indoor and outdoor dining areas, panoramic views of the Coral Sea from the lounge and dining rooms. This was my second visit to Blue Pools in 2 years. It was just what I needed, a beautiful place to relax and unwind.The amenities are the best I have ever come across in the many places I have stayed.The locality of the house is perfect for day trips, restaurants, or shopping.The fact that you can throw a fishing line in out the front of the house was a bonus. Also the new addition of a rustic but fabulous restaurant 1 min walk away is brilliant. I have already recommended this place to friends since being back, and I'm sure this won't be my last visit. James is such a delightful and helpful Manager of the property, nothing is ever too much trouble for him.

This place is lovely.. everything you read is true, the sea breezes through the front windows, the beautiful pool, the private pool/yard area and the helpful manager James all add up to a great stay. Went with my flatmate and her family from Scotland and they were just so impressed with the pavillion accomodation. The pool and spa were well used by the tourists. Machins Beach itself is nothing to write home about but it's good distance (car a necessity) from Cairns and a comfortable drive through some beautiful beach side towns to Port Douglas. The water (though not swimable) is 30 meters from the front door, just the front yard, a one lane road then the sea. Flat area around there to walk so if older people in your group, ideal for them to get out and enjoy the scenery. Heading abck to Port Douglas next month but as only 2 of us, Blue Pools a bit expensive but if going up in a group again, this will be the first choice to tay. Also if thinking bout here, speak to James about dog boarding... he has some contacts so the 4 legged members of your family can maybe stay near by

Cairns and the most perfect holiday house had everything
You could need . The pool and alfresco outside eating area/ BBQ
so relaxing . Manager James went out of his
Way to make us feel right at home at any time
If we needed any thing .
Close to airport and peaceful setting
Directly looking on to the ocean what more could you
ask for will be back asap thanks James

We loved our stay at Blue Pools. We chose this location because we were visiting family nearby. We couldn't have been more pleased. Machan's Beach is very close to Cairns which is is an easy car journey away - where you can find everything you want. Machan's itself is very quiet- and charming. There's a great restaurant on the sea front.
The house is extremely comfortable and very well equipped. It really is all you could wish for in a holiday home. The fantastic pool, the fluffy towels, the barbie on the patio. The service was exemplary - it seemed like nothing was too much trouble. We would definitely go back. -

James was so helpful and friendly he made the whole process simple and without any problems! He answered any questions we had prior to our stay promptly and even emailed us with the weather forecast for our stay! Very thoughtful! On out arrival he met us at the property and ran us through a few things ie spa, pool man, appliances and things about the local area and Cairns itself. The house itself I'd colorful and full if everything you would need including condiment for cooking, milk, eggs, a massive fruit platter in the fridge and full fruit bowl with growing lettuce on the kitchen table!! A bottle of wine chilling in the fridge!!! The most amazing area awaits you upon opening the back door of the house...blue pool, spa and free standing bungalow including outside shower!! We all just stood there mouths open!! Spectacular!!! I have already recommended blue pools to a few of my friends and am trying to organize another stay May 2013!! The house looks onto the ocean and you can lie on the sofa and listen to the waves...bliss! The location is perfect with Cairns 10 mins away and Palm Cove and Port Douglas a nice day,s drive away!

We, a family of six adults, had the most wonderful stay at Blue Pools Beach House for 2 nights (wish we could have stayed more). The house has 4 comfortable bedrooms, with a spacious masters bedroom (located by the pool). The facilities include a nice outdoor heated pool and jacuzzi. All amenities were in good condition. Machans Beach is a quiet residential area, but well connected. Although there is no beach, we enjoyed a lovely seaside view and quiet walks. James Crawford, the manger, who lives nearby, was most helpful. We heartily recommend this property.

Machan's beach is only 10 mins north of Cairns central and a great gateway to the northern beaches. The house is ideally located across from the ocean and walking distance to everything in Machan's! You will need a car to travel further a field however major attractions like Mosman Gorge are not far away. The house provides its own 25m swimming pool if you want to get some laps in or spend some time in the spa and relax in style. There is heaps of room to spread out with a seperate retreat at the rear of the property. All up we had a wonderful family holiday with a mixture of relaxing and exploring the northern beaches!

Getting ready for our stay way made a lot easier because of the friendly professional way that James assisted us .The home was just what we wanted easy to maintain ,we had a very busy schedual everything we needed was there on hand. we were able to entertain some of our friend. When we arrived late in the evening on the first day James was there to guide us and had a few essensuals in the fridge for the next morning.The location was ideal for our needs whith near by cafe and tak away
if needed . The pool was perfect and relaxing.The neighbour hood was private and quiet.We had a perfect stay. -

Location is brilliant...Although the closest beach to the airport, it also one of the quietest; the flight path being to the north & west, effectively avoiding the area. A short drive to cairns city & Rusty's markets.
Fabulous pool & exotic gardens with tropical flowers & Sunbirds & even Ulysses butterflies.
Very comfortable accomodation & well appointed kitchen.
A few steps to the terrace for fishing or a Coctail to watch the sunset.
Could not fault it. -

we stayed for ten days and had a fantastic time. the house was immaculately clean and well stocked. the location is fabulous! highly recommend this house for a holiday stay. we loved it and will definately be back.
well managed property with property manager being exceptional in the way he provided for all our needs. he even pre-heated the pool and spa for our late arrival! awesome! well impressed with the whole experience.

We loved everything about our stay at Blue Pools: the pool, BBQ, the guest cottage where we stayed, and the kitchen, etc. It was just great! The home was lovely and the private yard and pool exceptional. The area of Machans Beach was a bit of a disappointment as the ocean was muddy and the area lacked some amenities. Of the three or four local restaurants, only one was open and it was only open one of the nights we were there. The general store was inadequate, requiring us to take the very easy bus into Cairns more than once. On the whole, I'd strongly recommend Blue Pools for anyone looking for a great, quiet, peaceful getaway. Just be sure to rent a car. :)

For our family of five (kids age 7,10,12) Blue Pools was the perfect holilday house. Having our own private pool as well as the ocean view/breeze our the front door was just wonderful. The kitchen was stocked with a few necessities as well as fruit/veg/eggs/milk and also including a bottle of wine. The linens and towels/toiletries were first class as well and made me feel I was staying at a spa!
It was wonderful to come back to the house after a day or half day of sight seeing and have the pool for the kids to jump into and a kitchen to cook meals instead of eating out all the time. Beautiful early morning walks along the ocean with my youngest son was just priceless.
Go, stay and enjoy paradise!! -

From the first phone call to the meet and greet we received nothing but courtesy, helpfulness and professionalism. Its the small details that imprint on a perfect holiday .. a smile, happy greeting, milk, vegies and small goods available ... even a bottle of local wine. The location was perfect ... there is no price for privacy and a beautiful sunset and sunrise so close to the water. We all had the a wonderful time and everyone said that I chose the perfect place for our family to come together for our first grandsons lst b'day.

This was by far the best vacation rental we have stayed at. It stared with the ease of check in and the most wonderful surprise of fruit and wine waiting for us when we arrived. there was even fresh milk and eggs so that we did not have to bring tired kids with us grocery shopping. The house is spacious and very well kept and stocked with spices, shampoo's hair dryier, movies and more. Beautiful views and a lovely pool and hot tub. It is close to so many activities and it was great to see so many books and brouchures about the area in the house. The kids Loved the bird books and fish and animal charts.
When we checked out, we recieved yet another beautiful gift with a picture book of the area. It was a wonderful stay, and we will make the long journey from canada back again forsure!! Thank you so very much for a this incredible experience! we will cherrish our stay there! Cheers. -

Stayed for one week during the September school holiday break and loved every minute at Blue Pools. We were warmly greeted on arrival by James, and shown the property in detail. Our host supplied a complimentary platter of fresh tropical fruits and a huge basket of vegetables, all of which helped kick-start our Cairns family holiday. Yes, the 3 grandchildren were in-the-pool night and day...and would have stayed there for the week except for scheduled trips to the Great Barrier Reef and the Rain Forest Sky Rail.
The property has a lovely tropical garden setting and is spotlessly maintained. Blue Pools has all the amenities required for a very comfortable stay.
