We stayed at the manor house for my mum's 60th birthday. We all had a amazing stay. My Grandparents who are in their 80s enjoyed their stay. It was warm and cozy. They didn't even complain they where cold!!
The little ones aged 4-5 loved the feel of the house with the swords and shield!
The kitchen had everything you need for your stay and more...
Located close to the castle with it children's play area and field's to keep the children entertained. Within walking distance from the Castle Inn which kept the adults entertained! Selling excellent ale's and also has a child's play area!
We had a Chinese take away which was the most tastiest chinese we've had in a long time. With such a big order they delivered it in less than a hour and also brought back 2 dishes they forgot to put in.
Fresh clean towels and bedding. The only thing missing was extra blankets and pillows.
Excellent house, relaxing stay would recommend to anyone!!! -

Very comfortable with modern conveniences and a powerful sense of history and place. Becky put a lot of thought into the remodeling and tasteful choice of fixtures, furniture, bedding. Yet the kitchen, dishes, pots and pans, utensils all add up to a great vacation experience if you want to share some time with family or friends. Find the local farmers' market and cook or do the little pubs along the way while exploring the castles, villages, coasts, and gardens in the region.
The hosts are very helpful and accommodating, welcoming and they make the stay very pleasant and memorable. A very relaxing vacation spot. Very spacious and sleeps something like 16 people. Great in good weather or even rain. -

We spent our extended family holiday at Llanthony Secunda manor this year and we all had a fantastic time. The house has been lovingly restored and is incredibly well equipped, we really wanted for nothing. The kids absolutely loved staying in such a fascinating place with spiral staircases, sloping floors and four poster beds, and the trampoline just made it extra special. We had a mediaeval evening for my birthday and dined at the long table which was a real experience!
Llanthony Secunda is a fantastic base to explore the area. We visited lots of castles, the Roman settlement at Caerwent and also Carleon and St Fagan's museum in Cardiff which were all brilliant! Thanks for providing all the helpful tourist information.
I hope we'll come back and stay again and would recommend Llanthony Secunda Manor as an excellent holiday stay or for that extra special weekend away with family or friends. -

We are a large family that like to holiday together. The manor met all of our needs and is very family friendly. Booking was easy and all communications were clear and very helpful.
The manor is set in lovely grounds and has all you will need for a quiet or family holiday. All of our needs were met both young and old (1yr to 70yrs!). We would definitely return again in the future. -

Had an amazing time at the house. It is really a fantastic place. Becky, the house owner, was extremely helpful and has made the house a fabulous venue to stay in. We were away with our extended family for two birthday celebrations and we all had a great time. Thank you so much Becky... we'll be back!!

Just thought that I'd feedback the fact that everyone had an amazing time this weekend and this is a wonderful property.
Guess it wasn't designed with such a big party in mind (14 adults) but the kitchen and dining hall created great centre pieces and we all agreed that we would highly recommend to others.
Also the staff at both The Castle Inn and the Indian restaurant made us very welcome.
Would be great for a New Year event but I guess it quickly gets booked up.
ps the dogs loved it too! -

KetteringA piece of Medieval history wrapped with modern day luxuries
Left on 06/01/2011 for a stay in April 2010
I loved this place. Its obviously been lovingly restored to mint condition, even to someone like me that has no idea about such things.
Stepping inside is like stepping back in-time. I especially liked the "Great Hall" upstairs with a fire crackling and popping it it creates an atmosphere that really links you in some way to the past.
Its also fun the way you traverse up and down sets of stairs to move between different areas of the house in a way that modern houses just never do.
What is really clever though is the way it weaves all this Medieval majesty with modern day conveniences such as a huge, gorgeous kitchen and plenty of access to TVs, internet and Sky Tv if that's what you fancy on occasion.
The only potential downside that I would mention is that as it has been authentically restored it does not have full range of bath's and showers that you might expect in an equivalently large modern property, although it does have plenty of toilets.
In summary a fabulous experience if you wish to travel to this part of the country. Can't recommend it enough. -

Left on 05/25/2011 for a stay in September 2010
We stayed at the manor house in September of last year and it was one of the best holidays we ever had. The manor exceeded our expectations and if you are planning to cook the kitchen is amazing. I have never seen anything so nice in a holiday let. The beds were comfortable, I hate being on vacation and getting up with a bad back so I really appreciated this. It was also very useful that we had the ability to pause the TV with the Sky system and there was even wifi so I could stay in touch while away. I really can't fault it in any way and would be more then happy to recommend this lovely house to friends. We would certainly stay again.

This was my good lady wifes 50-th birthday treat and whilst sometimes in life things go very wrong this was the exact opposite. The photos of the Manor House don't do it justice, they can't - they don't convey the atmosphere of the place.
We stayed here with family members aged from 2.5 year old twins to their 80-year old great grandmother and the Manor House suited all. We ate in, dined out and had as the weather was perfect - we had a BBQ.
Shops, supermarket (a Tuesday market) and take-aways are very close and catered for all our needs. Caldicot Castle is within easy walking distance and is a gem - again the weather was grand and the twins did there best to do what countless rampaging herds had tried to do before hand - and demolish the place.
A visit to Barry Island was undertaken - it's within easy reach just under an hour away. Sunshine, sunglasses & fish n chips were the order of the day. The twins and mom loved the beach and I beat the wife at crazy golf. We lost £4.84 on the two-penny push machines in the arcades and a good day was had by all.
What you need to understand is that I complain a bit and the wife says that sometimes I'm a miserable bugger and mostly it's true! But, sometimes, just sometimes the planets line up and things go really well, maybe it was the weather, or the food - or the company or the accomodation - or maybe all of these things. Most importantly, Fan had a grand time and even I found it difficult to find fault with Becky's Medeval Manor House.
Thank you so much Becky - with kindest regards I & A.
