We can highly recommend the Sea Fans apartment that we rented from Dan and Ruth for a week. Besides a great apartment, they are wonderful hosts. We liked the village of Calibishie, beautifully situated on the northeast coast and relatively close to the airport. The apartment is close enough to the village that it is an easy walk and only rented a car when we traveled to other parts of the island. There are also nice beaches within walking distance. Calibishie has the necessities also, groceries, ATM, gas, restaurants, and car rental. Dan and Ruth introduced us to many of their local friends, suggested places to go and provided fruit grown on their property. If you want to get a sense of the real Dominica, stay at Dan and Ruth's Sea Fans apt. They are a great couple with a love for this beautiful and interesting island.

We were at Sea Fans apartment in Feb 2013 and enjoyed our staying there very much. Apartment is very nice and spacious, kitchen is well-equipped for cooking and wifi is available. Apartment has a big terrace with sea view. All the restaurants and shops and also sandy beach is walking distance from the apartment.
The owners of this place Dan and Ruth are very kind and helpful. They can suggest places to see or visit and help with transfer. They helped to find a driver for island tour and to make a reservation in a restaurant. We had fresh flowers on the table and fresh grapefruits from their garden in fridge. On our first morning when there were no places opened to buy some food they offered breakfast on their terrace. Dan showed us some beautiful places nearby Calibishie and introduced this lovely village for us. We were also asked to come to their Wednesday game night. "My daughter and I spent a few days in Calibishie, Dominica, in November, 2010. We were lucky to find out about the Sea Fans apartment, where we stayed while there. The apartment is very nice and extremely spacious, self-contained and situated on the ground floor, in a two story house. The top floor is inhabited by the most hospitable hosts, Ruth and Dan Tanner, who are very helpful and nice. The apartment has a wonderful view of the sea and nearby there is a nice walk through banana plantations, where you may hear the Jaco Parrot in the evenings if you are lucky. You can easily reach all the attractions of the island from Calibishie by car or by mini-buses that operate several times a day." - BC, Sweden

Sea Fans is one of the best bargains in Dominica. Spacious, well-appointed, clean and convenient to Calibishie, the apartment is hard to beat at any price. Dan and Ruth Tanner are knowledgable and courteous hosts.
