We have stayed in this house twice. The house is spacious and extremely well equipped.There is a large enclosed garden with sandpit, swing and slide. The views from the house and garden are fantastic. The house is well positioned for trips to the coast and to Honfleur and Deauville (about 20 minutes by car). The hosts are very welcoming and helpful. Pont l' Eveque is the nearest town (20 minutes by car). The town has a supermarket, market and restaurants. It is the perfect house to get some peace and quiet but not suitable if you want to be able to walk to shops and restaurants.

We have stayed twice at Le Nid de Merle and enjoyed it each time. We were there with our three children aged between 4 and 12. The cottage is perfect for a family, nicely furnished and decorated and equipped with everything needed. The owners are friendly and helpful. The view from Le Nid de Merle is spectacular overlooking the countryside. It is quiet and peaceful and the children can play outside in total safety. The cottage is close to the major touristic sites of Normandy including D-Day beaches and some wonderful towns and villages typical of the region. We intend to go back to Le Nid de Merle and we highly recommend it. As there are two cottages on the property it is possible to vacation with family or friends.

We spent one week in La Grange at Le Nid de Merle and I wish we had been able to stay longer. La Grange was built as a small barn and it has been beautifully and tastefully remodeled. The decor is beautiful and the cottage is spotless. The only noise we heard while we were there was birdsong. The view from the salon and the terrace is lovely. The grounds are spacious and well kept. All the appliances worked well and we had a locked storage area for the bicycles we brought with us. Manon was very helpful when we had questions. The nearest town for shopping is Pont l'Eveque and it had everything we needed when it came to shopping for food including a wonderful patisserie. We were near lots of places to see and do things but when we returned to la Grange after a day out there were no crowds of tourists, just calm and beauty. An added plus for those who do not speak French is that Manon is fluent in English. We have now rented 12 holiday homes in France is La Grange is one of the best.

My husband and I experienced a very enjoyable and relaxing getaway at Le Nid de Merle. We stayed in the "Grange” which is one of the two cottages available. Having stayed at many other Gites in France, we were extremely pleased and impressed with our cottage. A very fresh and modern interior and still remaining the authentic Normandy 'style'. Very clean and comfortable and an amazing view from our private terrace. The location is great and very centrally located to all the main sites and other towns. The owners are very hospitable and we are already planning our next visit to Le Nid de Merle!
