Left on 09/08/2012 for a stay in August 2012
We found everything we need for wonderful vacations in this lovely town. The house is spacious for 4 people, very well equipped and we felt very comfortable. The booking and everything has been completely uncomplicated and friendly. The location is optimal for enjoying the town and the environment by feet. And for being lazy the garden is really beautiful. We would always return!

Left on 08/16/2012 for a stay in May 2012
We visited in May 2012 and had a lovely week. Owners are English and very helpful and straightforward and can be contacted by phone/e mail. All mod cons, comfortable and spacious. Even the bed is comfortable which is unusual for France!
Walkable into the quiet harbour/town of Camaret and the local beaches but be aware you are not permitted to swim at some beaches due to dangerous currents.
As pretty as it looks in the photo.
Only criticism would be that the main bedroom velux window does not have a blind but I believe that this may have been remedied already.
We will stay again sometime soon!Response from Rosemary Varga - 08/29/2012
Owner
Thank you for kindly providing feedback Paul, we certainly took your advice onboard and have now added a blind to the bedroom window! We look forward to welcoming you back to Camaret!

Kingston upon Thames, United Kingdomlovely house in gorgeous location
Left on 08/11/2012 for a stay in August 2012
We really appreciated that this was the owner's house - little things like Dvds, guide books, maps and some food in the cupboard made a real difference. Furnished very well. The garden is lovely. Very near to beach/shops but also very quiet and relaxing. The owner was most helpful. Definitely recommend.

Melbourne, AustraliaGreat family holiday house in Brittany
Left on 10/30/2011 for a stay in September 2011
We rented this Camaret-sur-mer holiday house for two weeks in September 2011 and had a great time. Booking, payment and check-in were seamlessly handled. The house is spacious and well-appointed with a comfortable living area with plenty of room for our family of two kids and two adults. The kitchen is modern and great for cooking and the local seafood is delicious. There is a good size dining table in the spacious kitchen and also a nice outdoor patio for good weather. The back garden is beautiful and the location of the house is very handy to the shopping and restaurants in Camaret. The house contains quite a few guide books about Brittany which we found very helpful for planning daily activities, particularly the beautiful walks in the area. Camaret has lots of charm, local beaches are really good and there is plenty to do in the region. The beds could be a bit more comfortable but overall we thought the house was great value and would thoroughly recommend a holiday there.

GlasgowWell-equipped house in a charming town
Left on 09/01/2011 for a stay in June 2011
We loved the location of this house - 5 minutes from supermarket, quayside (where our son fished every day), bars & restaurants. Camaret is a gorgeous little town & relatively free from tourists when we were there. The weekly market was great & the bakery on the quay was the best we found in France (following week spent Paris & Normandy). For seafood lovers there is a good fishmongers & shellfish & crustaceans can be bought from the pier. The surrounding beaches are stunning but our favourites were the town beach (15 mins walk) or a short drive out of town to the "Tas de Pois" where there is a beach creperie - ideal for mid afternoon coffee, ice cream or cidre. Would recommend a walk around the headland - stunning views & kids loved exploring the disused German gun emplacements. The house was ideal with a beautiful, new kitchen & bathroom, comfortable lounge & private driveway
The garden is big & wild with good outdoor furniture. There is even a little gite for older teenagers. We were sad to leave here & hope to return. The weather during the last week of June was generally good although we had a couple of misty mornings. The only minor niggles were the proximity to a water treatment plant & the road but we did appreciate the central location.Response from Rosemary Varga - 09/21/2011
Owner
The water treatment plant has since been removed (September 2011) and the area landscaped.
Thank you very much for your review and we are pleased you enjoyed your holiday and look forward to welcoming you back to Camaret. -

NorthamptonPerfect for both Teenager and Toddler!
Left on 07/04/2011 for a stay in May 2011
There were no hitches with our booking at all. The owner was great from the outset. The house is lovely, a very spacious kitchen/dining area fully equipped. A large but very cosy living room with satellite tv. Wireless internet in the house and on the patio. The bathroom is also modern and spacious. The washing machine and tumble dryer were very well used as I'm sure anyone with a toddler can appreciate! We did book the gite,as I knew the eldest would want some space. He loved it, felt very grown up with his own bed, shower and en suite! We ate most evenings out on the patio watching the sunset. The house is very well located, only a 5 minute walk to the seafront, and even less to the local supermarket. We saw some stunning seafood platters being served in the restaurants, but with kids we settled for pizza at 'The Captain' very nice it was too! We mainly cooked in the house though. I was worried about holidaying here with a teenager and and a toddler. Mainly that it would be hard to please them both at the same time. I worried needlessly. We spent most of our time at the local Very'ach beach (5 mins in car) very safe and calm enough for a paddle with the little one, but enough waves for the eldest to try out his bodyboard! Plenty of rock pools to go exploring in for crabs, we even found some oysters - sadly no pearls! This beach has a cafe serving crepes and drinks, be prepared though, they are quite pricey! we took our own drinks and snacks. Beaches local to the house are stunning especially Toulinget beach. This is about at 10 minute walk from the house, although it is not safe enough for swimming, there are more rock pools, and a vast expanse of sand. We also visited the tas de pois, very stunning. It is a shame we only booked a week as I know there is much more to explore further afield. Thank you for our stay Rosemary and Steve. We hope to be back soon!

LondonLovely place to stay and great for the surrounding beaches
Left on 11/12/2010 for a stay in October 2010
We had a lovely stay here - thankfully the weather was kind to us even though it was October. We did keep the heaters on to keep the chill off, which meant our deposit was reduced - but I'm not one for the cold so we expected that! The bathroom and kitchen of the cottage was newly renovated and with all the equipment you could need, which was great (though you might want to take an extra tea-towel!). The annex was quite basic (& a little smaller than expected) - but we put the teenagers in there, and they only used it for sleeping. It was a great location for the port (and supermarket!), so you didn't have to use the car unless you wanted to go further afield. It didn't have internet access - but it was great to have English telly - although I think the internet was going to be sorted for next year. The owner was fantastic at replying to emails and giving us extra info and sending the deposit back promptly, so I would definitely recommend this cottage as a place to stay in Brittany.

Left on 08/26/2010 for a stay in August 2010
Think the house is great for all the family, with the annex on hand it was a great place for the older kids to have some independence whilst still being close.
Kitchen and Bathroom have been renovated to a really high standard and kitchen has everything you could ever need. We had a really enjoyable stay and would love to go back next year.

WellingboroughFabulous family holiday house!
Left on 07/07/2010 for a stay in July 2009
We stayed in this house for 2 weeks in July 2009. We are a family of 8, and comfortably fitted into this place.. The kitchen is large and has a dining room table that can sit up to 10, as well as a dishwasher, microwave etc. There is plenty of everything: plates, glasses, pans, utensils, etc. The sitting room manages to be large and cosy at the same time. Our kids loved sleeping in the Annexe – and as we slept in the main house they didn’t wake us up in the morning! The shower room is luxurious, and the washing machine and dryer make for a very easy stay. The garden is large and rustic, with lots of trees and grass for the kids to play in. Camaret is just lovely, and it is an easy stroll to the shops and the seafront with its many cafes and restaurants. We found different beaches to go to all around, and superb walks as well. Highly recommended!!
