From "beginning of time” there has been olives grown here. Our plantation 38.000 m2 is preserved biological and has 400 olive trees mainly several hundred of years old about 100 carob trees and many other fruit-, nut-, and spices- trees and bushes.
A single olive tree near the house is preserved through the ages as a shaded pavilion and more than 700 old / 45 meters in circumference.
The area and Tortosa are mentioned in the history. "Hannibal" gathered his troops here before the invention of Rome.
Have a walk in the valley of the plantation - which has grown wildly – and you will see rosemary, thyme, figs, grapes, carob, laurent- almond-, and walnuts-trees and a tomb.
When the hottest often a refreshing breeze from the mountains!
The area has its own "micro climate" and is one of Spain's most dry and sunny.
Ebro Delta has a large production of rice and, together with the Mediterranean gives the air humidity.
Here also is a large Natural Park with among others Flamingo’s and very rich fishing from the beach.
The Ebro river has a famous cat fishing and excursion possible by vessel. The city of Tortosa has his history written back to time of Christ. A huge fort, the old city and the cathedral is worth visiting and even shopping here is nice. The narrow mountain road via Col de Alba is a fantastic drive and view. Only within 1 hour (45 km) you are at the top of the nearest mountain 1447 m. in the National Park with a dramatic view.
Reservations (see also “house rules”):
For any modifications. Been on the premises to guests' own responsibility and possible damage / incidents is covered only to the extent of Landlord’s normal house insurance. Ask always the landlord. It is a rural area with steep slopes to the valley - among other things do not go so close to the edge of the old stone walls. Don’t smoke indoors and only up to the house or on the terrace where there is no vegetation. There are sometimes very dry = highly flammable.

If you like simple, rural, peace, nature, horses, dogs, nice company and... olives: the Casita of Viggo and Tamara is the place to be! Highlights during our two weeks visit were the outdoors shower next to the fireplace (especially at sunset when you're preparing the BBQ), the outdoor kitchen, the beautiful view over the olive trees in the valley, drinking coffee under the 700 year old olive tree with curious horse heads over your shoulder, the power and sweetness of Elektra, the more than interesting talks with Viggo over a Cuba Libre and the healing talents of Tamara. We had a great time! Love to come back!

Dear Viggo, In the afternoon we saw a very beautiful expulsion from Sweden to the Pyrenees nature, birds, fauna, etc.
It immediately got John to find our film from last trip with you in September 2010, and you know what we were quite touched to see it again. Re-Liver your generous hospitality, your humor and your resilience compared to the life we have seen for you - a real life artist you are!
We saw the also your fine meals, lunch under the big olive tree, your amazing pasta and mussels, not to mention all the stories from our and your life that we shared. You are a great friend and we are very happy that we met you and Tamara for so many years ago - and you should know that even if we are not seen as often, so we often talk about you and all our friends know you by publicity and ask us from time to time: "when should I visit Viggo?" And we will, but we do not know when. Hugs from John and Hanne

This is a great place to stay if you want a comfortable, peaceful and natural environment. Just as the description says, you're surrounded by olive groves (and carob trees) and you have plenty of your own space, including a great semi-outdoor kitchen, some great views, and your own private balcony. Plus Viggo is a great host and a really nice, interesting person to talk to and there's a horse and a cat and a dog and fresh figs and grapes and even champagne in the fridge. What more could you ask for !?
