Enjoy nice ocean views from the bedroom, living area, and deck. Comfy queen bed downstairs, daybed in loft and a double in the bedroom. The cottage is a very short walk to town and to Moonstone Beach. Located in the "Happy Hill" section of Cambria, right above the West Village. The neighborhood is peaceful with various wildlife and sounds of the ocean. Very close to hiking trails in the forest and beach, shopping, antiques, wine tasting, restaurants, Hearst Castle, etc.

We loved staying in Karens Cottage just up the hill from the village of Cambria.We sat on the deck, enjoying the ocean view sunset with a glass of wine, while the dogs romped around the yard.The cottage is 1100 square feet, and the kitchen has all of the basic needs.For the price of a hotel room ($150) we had a whole house, plus view, plus serene quiet.I highly recommend Karens Cottage.Also had a great dinner at Robins.The whole town is decorated with Holloween,life-size mannequins.They are a riot.There are 400 all together and worth a trip in and of themselves.Sweet funny Cambria, also loved the French Bakery and love Squibb House.We were there to pick up our beautiful amish cabinet. from

This was a nice cottage up in the hills above Cambria. The owners live in the house on the same property, with a deck in between. You don't see them except at check-in. It is clean and affordable, no deposit and no cleaning fee, which was great. It has lots of room and very comfortable and is very well equipped; the kitchen, the bathroom You can park in their driveway, but to reach the place you have to walk uphill on the curved sidewalk. I had never stayed in a vacation rental, it was my 22 yr. old daughter and me. Even though it was a lovely place, I have decided I don't think I will go the rental route again. I worried about not leaving it clean enough, who wants to cook, do dishes, etc. on vacation? I do that all year long. Cambria is a lovely town,neat little shops and nice restaurants, Moonstone Beach is a must see.However, Cambria seems to close up shop pretty early at night. If I go to that area again I would stay in Morro Bay, there is so much more to do there. I love the Cavalier Motel in San Simeon as well, which is where we stayed last year. My daughter and I just wanted more excitement. In my mind, this would be a nice place for young couples. I would rate it excellent as far as price and comfort.

Thanks for being nice guests and for your review! There is a private walkway up to our place without stairs, and a small ramp, as well, which makes it more accessible for the disabled (and easier for wheeled suitcases, too). Cambria is a charming, quiet place to relax and getaway from it all, yet also has beautiful, scenic areas to visit and a variety of activities to enjoy.

Owners were totally accomodating to make our 5th year anniversary weekend memorable. Lots of windows to enjoy the romatic hillside view of Cambria, yet close to main street. The fully furnished cottage was fully stocked with every kitchen & bathroom amenity imaginable, for example, electric wine cork remover & Keurig coffee/hot tea machine. The cottage was loaded with information of area restaurants, shops, points of interests, and dog friendly parks, etc... Great place to stay in Cambria for a couple or a small family.

This was the perfect place for my husband and I, plus our small dog to stay! Karen and Earl are terrific, very nice, all while really respecting our privacy during our 4-night stay. We never knew if they were even home or not! We had full use of the driveway and deck and the private entrance on the opposite side of the entrance to Karen and Earl's place was great. We did not, in any way, feel like we were staying at someone's house. Personally, we enjoyed preparing all our meals in the fully stocked kitchen which included a full size fridge and gas stove. Nice open front room with 6 large windows to fully enjoy the views. Location is really nice, about 1/2 mile to main street Cambria and Moonstone Drive. You can easily travel north to Elephant Seal Vista Point and Hearst Castle, or south to Harmony, Cayucos and Morro Bay. Karen helped us locate some wonderful leash-free area's where we could let our dog run and have a great time too! Nothing negative about this place other than maybe if you're big coffee drinkers, bring your own full size coffee pot like we did, and there is not an enclosed area where you can put your dog out to do their business, you just have to walk them outside on a leash - both things though were not a problem for us!

Jill, Mike, and their cute dog Bella, were the perfect guests! Very nice people and kept our place clean. We do provide a Keurig coffee maker stocked with a variety of coffee flavors for guests, as well as a smaller Mr.Coffee pot. We also enjoy well-behaved four-legged guests,too!

I've stayed at Karen & Earl's vacation home twice this year. It is picture perfect in every way from the attention to detail in the oceanside decor to the stunning view from the living room window and private deck.
It is conveniently located at the north end of Cambria less than a 5 minute drive to Moonstone Beach. Hearst Castle is 10 minutes away.
Karen & Earl are friendly and gracious hosts. Karen leaves menus and coupon flyers for restaurants in the area. There are Dvds and magazines to relax with after a day of touring and wine tasting. Great gas grill and all kitchen supplies to enjoy meals at home.
Can't wait to stay there again in the near future! -
