      Outstanding

Left on 11/06/2012 for a stay in October 2012

Id personally like to thank Susan for being so accommodating during my recent stay this apartment in Camden. I thoroughly enjoyed my stay and couldnt have asked for a better option while traveling to the coast of Maine. The apartment was exactly as advertised, spotless and cozy, with all necessary amenities. I will certainly be returning in the Fall of 2013. Thanks again!

Excellent apartment in Downtown Camden - Highly recommended

Left on 07/08/2012 for a stay in June 2012

My wife is from Maine and I am from Ireland. We visit Maine every year to go on vacation with her family. Over the past few years we have found that we prefer to rent apartments or houses rather than stay in hotels - we like the ability to cook your own food, and generally find it more relaxing and cheaper than hotels.

The apartment is one of 3 apartments in a house dating from the 1840’s. I would not have guessed that the house was that old as it looks very modern inside. The rooms are bright and spacious. I am extremely fussy with very high standards but I am pleased to say this accommodation was excellent. Everything was very clean and comfortable. There was a fully equipped kitchen with all the utensils you could ever need, they even had a coffee bean grinder! There was also a clothes washer and dryer and even complimentary detergent. What really pleased me was that the apartment came equipped with all the small things you might need, e.g. salt, pepper, cling film, bags, shampoo, hand wash etc. There is also window mounted aC units.

There is a flat screen TV with Hdmi input. The TV had Direct TV cable, with all the basic channels. I find america live TV impossible to watch, all the ads drive me nuts, and instead we watched Netflix by connecting the ipad to the TV. If you have an apple tv, roku box etc I recommend you bring it and a Hdmi cable. The apartment has wireless internet throughout, and the connection speed was very good, about 2meg. There were no problems at all watching Netflix etc on it.

The building is in downtown Camden, in walking distance to everything. I had a quick peek at the other two apartments in the building and they look good too, if this unit is not available for your dates ask about the others. There is a wonderful porch at the front of the house, this is shaded by trees so is a welcome respite if it gets hot.

Camden is a pretty sea side town and a good base to explore the area. It can be a popular resort so I was worried that it might be pricy for restaurants etc. In fact we found there to be a good selection of reasonably priced restaurants around the area as well as then more expensive posh ones. The Mediterranean café near the house was very nice and excellent value with mains for less than $10. I strongly recommend you visit the Camden library it is an amazing building with a great selection of newspapers and magazines.

I would also recommend a trip to Moody’s Diner, which is about 20mins drive away. I never heard of the place but it seems it is some kind of Maine institution. I did not have high hopes for the place as it looks like your usual average american junk food diner, but I was amazed to find the food and the cream pies delicious.

To conclude I strongly recommend this apartment and Camden to potential visitors. Best of all it worked out at a third of the price it would have cost us to stay in a hotel, and in my view was more comfortable with excellent facilities. I would definitely book it again.
