Portland, OregonPleasant Stay in Campbell River
Left on 03/09/2013 for a stay in February 2013
My brother and I stayed at this house for a weekend fishing trip in Campbell River, and really enjoyed our stay. The house was very clean, updated, and everything worked really well. The hot tub was an added benefit after being in the cold rivers all day. Highly recommend this property - I would visit again.

I have stayed here often and every time it has been awesome. The hot tub on the front deck is located for privacy and the view is spectacular from inside or out. The cottages are bordered by evergreens on each side of the property, there are only two cottages on the property so booking far in advance is a good idea. A small mall is just a few hundred yards away, with a grocery store, pub and liquor store, drugstore and more

We love to do something special on our birthdays and we love the ocean so choosing the Seaside Cabin on the ocean was perfect for us. It came highly recommended by my brother and sister-in-law who visit the cabin a number of times every year. We stayed in the older cabin, and yes it was dated but charming. We enjoyed dining in front of the huge windows facing the ocean and later the hot tub...so relaxing...would liked to have stayed a few more days...

This is our 2nd time staying at this wonderful place. We truly enjoyed the view of the Inside Passage from the deck, living room & of course, the tubs. Apart from the view, the cottage is conveniently located and easily accessible to other sight-seeing spots. Great place...

Our stay at Seaside Cottage was so cozy and romantic. The floor to ceiling window and slider made for beautiful views (our hosts provided binoculars), the kitchen was very well-equipped, the beds were comfortable, and there was even a pretty little Christmas tree. We enjoyed the hot-tub, which felt very private even though the cottage is basically in town, and the resident seagull (salty) entertained us.

Seaside cottage is a heavenly place to spend a holiday.
Fishing on the doorstep and nearby on the great Campbell River. Sitting in the hot tub in the evening raising our glasses to the cruise liners as they passed on their way to and from alaska.
The cottage is very well equipped, comfortable and in a superb location.
Cathy and Rob are great hosts, always willing to advise and help.

We can't say enough about how enjoyable this vacation was. The cottages are like being at a family cabin and just steps from the water. The accommodations are very comfortable, clean, quiet and great location. Our kids discovered all sorts of sea life right there on the beach. We went the next morning on their fishing charter and had such a great time. If we make it back to Campbell River for a fishing trip - we will plan it exactly the same way.

We stayed here with our two boys ages 9 & 11 and it has made our list of favorite vacation destinations! The cottage was located right on the shore and the boys spent every waking moment at the beach looking for sea life or fishing. They caught lots of fish right from the beach! The cottage had everything we needed... laundry, kitchen, separate bedrooms, hot tub for relaxing. And was close to the marina and our fishing excursion with Rob. He taught our boys how to fish and was knowledgeable and patient and a great guide. We plan to go back and do it all over again!

We love everything about Rob & Cathy's seaside cottage, from the waterfront location, the cozy fireplace and hot tub, super comfy beds, complete kitchen to the yummy breakfast fixings....they have thought of everything. We have stayed a time before (Dec 2008) as well and totally enjoyed that visit too. We're hoping to stay again next December...it's become our after Christmas tradition!

What a gem! A beautifull place to relax and get away from all your worries and not just for the summer either the winter getaways are fantastic, waves crashing in, seals playing and of course the cruise ships passing by, heading for Alaska in the spring and summer. Wonderfull hospitallity from the hosts, with 2 cabins full of all enemities including fresh fruit basket and breakfast for your stay, complete privacy, gas fireplace and the most amazing views from the private hot tub on the deck. A short walk to groceries, beer and wine and vidio stores. Weather you want a quiet time indoors and hot tub soak, a walk on the beach, touring the sights of wild life and whale watching or dinning out, you will enjoy staying at the seaside cottage, we have been 5 times and will be back again very soon.

The Seaside Cottage is a wonderful place. From the moment you arrive to when you leave, every convenince is waiting for you. From the breakfast and the fruit basket, to the hot tub and the location you couldn't ask for anything more. this will be our 3rd year coming back to the cottage and we enjoy every minute. even though we are all from Campbell River, it feels like a home away from home. We love the location on the ocean watching the eagles and the visit by our lone seagull every morning for breakfast. All you need is here. The cottage is clean, cozy and comfortable. the only thing we would like is better lighting so we could scrapbook later at night. Wonderful place to stay!!!!!!

We have stayed at both cottages over the years and have found them to be great. Both cottages have very large decks, hot tubs and gas BBQs which we thoroughly enjoyed. Everything is very well kept but we found the bedrooms in the old cottage just a little smaller. Our latest stay was in the green cottage. The views from both is spectacular. The breakfast food, which is supplied, is first rate.
If you stay in either cottage you will have a wonderful vacation. -

Left on 02/19/2010 for a stay in December 2009
My husband, myself, my sister from Ontario and our little doggie, Maggie Mae arrived on Dec. 22nd and stayed until the 27th. Everything in the cottage was ready for our stay, even a lovely Christmas tree. The view was amazing, the ocean, the snow covered mountains, the eagles, the sea lions, and all those different species of sea birds.
The hot tub looked very inviting, and proved quite relaxing, every evening, after we returned from visiting our other family members in Campbell River. We found the cottage very relaxing and liked having our own space to retreat to and to rest up for the next social event.
We loved every minute of our special family Christmas get-togethers. We were 10 minutes away from my sisters' home in Campbell River, we were 2 minutes away from the shopping plaza, although we didn't need much because the cottage was very amply supplied with all we would need including breakfast makings, fruit, buns, etc., etc. I love not having to go shopping as soon as we check into an accomodation (one less stressor while travelling). Cathy and Rob know how to meet your needs.
I was also very pleased to have a little park area next door to us, so that Maggie could have a little exercise.
This was our second visit to the Seaside Cottage, having been there at Thanksgiving for my Birthday get-away, and we were just as pleased with the cordial service and dealings with Cathy and Rob.
All I can say is Thank You Cathy and Rob for making our stay so very welcome and accomodating.

My wife and I and another couple stayed here during the summer and had a fantastic time. The cottage has a stunning view of the water and in summer you can see lots of cruise ships go by. How ever just the two of us came back again in January and I have to say I like it even more in winter. The cottages themselves are extremely cozy and clean and make you feel like you belong here. In winter, Mt Washington ski resort is just over half an hour away and when you get back, there is nothing nicer than relaxing in the private secluded hot tub and enjoying the fresh air. If you are not into that energetic of a stay, it is a GREAT place to just say " the heck with work and everybody else" and just lock the door, sit in front of the warm gas fireplace and chill watching TV. That is exactly what we did, we ordered pizza from accross the street and just relaxed. For me, the lousier the weather, the more fun it is here. It is so cozy and relaxing here that we will definately be back. (hopefully the weather will be reaaly bad)

I brought my grandchildren for their first ever visit to the ocean and sea side experience. The accomodations were perfect!! Loved the green cottage and all it had to offer. Waking up to the sight of the ocean just outside our door was the perfect way to start the day. Cathy had the kitchen so well stocked for breakfast we barely got it all eaten in our week there. For our other meals having the BBQ and a grocery store so close was perfect! My grandchildren loved watching the Eagle family in it's nest in the tree next door. Recently my granddaughter asked if we could go to that awesome beach place again! I do plan on coming again and have already booked for this year and hopefully many more years to come!!

Left on 02/18/2010 for a stay in October 2009
Tucked in an unexpectedly private nook in Willow point, the cabin was a perfect retreat where I could relax and unwind. Everything I needed was there for me - and enjoying a long relaxing warm soak in the private hot tub overlooking Georgia Strait - during a West Coast Gale- remains a lasting happy memory.
I also enjoyed the wide flat screen TV, and a cozy fireplace on dark rainy night, when getting home safely was not an option. There was even a dryer for my damp clothing, and a doggy pillow for my pup.
It was a wonderful treat, and a perfect refuge in a storm.

We unfortuneatly only stayed for one evening while on a quick trip to the island. The home was very comfortable. Cathy and Rob went out of there way in making our stay comfortable. The breakfast was enough to feed a small army. The hot tub was very much needed after a long day and had the most beautiful background.
We will definately return and have and will continue to recommend Seaside Cottage.

We absolutely loved this cottage. We had the best time. It was our second time
to the Campbell River and we are coming back next October because it was so
great. We got to see Killer Whales, Bears, Deer and the Eagles. We even saw the
eagles from the couch in our cabin. We felt very welcomed when we arrived
and were blown away by the views from the cabin, the ocean is right there.
Everything was just great we were able to relax and felt very comfortable
durning our stay. Both Cathy and Rob have done a great job with this place
and we are looking forward to our next visit and sharing this wonderful hidden
jewel with our family and close friends. -

We were very impressed with the cottage, the view, the hot tub outside and enjoyed watching the cruise ships go by in the evening. The fridge was stocked with all sorts of good breakfast food, there was coffee, tea and a lovely fruit basket when we arrived. We could walk to a little shopping centre for our other groceries, order pizza and also had a nice dinner in the pub there. A nice touch were having the binoculars there. The beach was not easy to access and definitely not a place to go swimming. We would like to go back there!

First of all, thanks to Cathy and Rob for the wonderful days in their cottage!!!
There are two nice bedrooms, a full equipped kitchen with dishwasher, microwave..., a bathroom, a washingmachine + dryer in the entrance area, a big livingroom and a huge wooden deck.
On this deck you can find a comfortable whirlpool, a few deckchairs, a barbeque and an woderful view of the ocean and the shoreline of BC.
The cottage is equpped with everything you need, its really clean and very comfortable.
There are no direkt neighbours, so nobody disturbs you while you enjoy the scienic panorama during sipping a glas of whine in the yacuzzi tub.
Cathy is responsible for the breakfast (Chese, Ham, Buns, Fruit, ...)
Rob has a fishing boat and we were able to book it for a few hours.
After that we had 24lbt salmon filet, saw some dolphins, feeded a seal and learned a lot about the area and the wildlife.
The fishing guide is a friend of Rob and its really worth spending time with him.
Rob recommended a restaurant in Campbell River, this was one of the best Dinners we had in Canada!
On our sixth trip to Canada we will book the cottage again...

This was my second time staying at Seaside Cottage, although my first time in the new cottage. My parents were visiting Vancouver from the UK so we were four people in total. Seaside Cottage is one of my favourite places in the world! There is everything you could need inside the cottage, it's cosy, clean and relaxing. The views are without a doubt spectacular. There is excellent running close by, along the waterfront. The beach is 15 yards away (excellent tidepool explorations). Short drive to downtown Campbell River, although we walked it a few times. Plenty of shops nearby for essentials. Cathy and Rob are very thoughtful, and will literally shower you with more food than you could possibly eat. It's supposed to be breakfast only (and we like to eat) but we had a surplus of breakfast supplies and fruit. They truly think of EVERYTHING.
I have mixed feelings about this review, because I know that once people try the cottage, they will come back and it will be harder and harder to book space for myself and my family. You only have to read the visitor book to see how many people are repeat visitors.

I booked the Seaside cottage as a special treat for my daughter's 16th birthday. The girls had a fabulous time and even though we are from the same town,it felt like we were miles away. The girls especially enjoyed reading the notes from other visitors and loved the story about the seagull. We even had a visit from the bird in the morning. We would reccommend the cottage to anyone wanting to get away to Campbell River!

My family and I (2 adults, 1 toddler) had a one night stay at Seaside Cottage in Campell River. The cottage was very accomodating set in an idealic location on the beach. The hot tub overlooking the beach was amazing.
I would definately recommend the property, however we only stayed for one night and this was not long enough to spend time in the area and appreciate the beauty of Campbell River and Seaside Cottage, therefore I recommend staying for two-three days minimum.
