Description from the owner
Located in the heart of the walled Historic Center of Campeche, a UNESCO World Heritage Site, this lovely Garden Home is located within one of Campeche's most beautiful and historic homes, over 100 years old and formerly the home of a leading Spanish commercial family. It is just across from the Instituto Campechano, the oldest University in the State dating from the early 18th century, with a large, ornate colonial building and a huge courtyard. The owners have created a traditional Garden Home in Yucatan style, with an open air kitchen and dining area, terrace, gardens and a small swimming pool. This home is absolutely charming. It has several bedrooms to choose from, as well as bathrooms. It's large entry hall leads into a living room/computer area. From there you'll enter a breathtaking courtyard. Many of the bedrooms/baths are to it's right. You'll then enter an area with another bedroom, living room, and open air kitchen ahead. The kitchen area has everything you'd want ~ a sitting area on one side, appliances, and large dining table on the other. Beyond that is a lovely yard, with barbecue grill, and swimming pool. You can't go wrong here, and it's in a perfect area for seeing the sites, in this beautiful city.

We enjoyed having you stay with us very much, especially knowing that you visit Mexico every year! Hopefully you'll be visiting us often in the future. You and others may be interested in knowing that we just took advantage of a few idle days to refresh the decor and furnishings of the home, so it is now more beautiful than ever!

Spent 8 days in Campeche and enjoyed every moment. The home is very relaxing with the garden, pool and outdoor kitchen a great bonus. Steven and Emilia greeted us on arrival and had also emailed often prior to arrival with information regarding the area. Would and will return (hopefully often). The city is absolutely beautiful.

This is an old house whose interior is completed renovated. The tiles are gorgeous, the rooms arranged around a central tiled courtyard, Mexican-style. Peti came in every second day or so to clean up and twice a week to change the sheets. Steve, the owner, greeted us at our arrival and helped us to settle in, even driving us around the town to point out the internet cafe (we had not brought our laptop) and interesting places to visit, the good restaurants, and was always friendly and courteous and reachable. His charming wife, Emilia, helped me to find the shoes that I coveted, and even gave me a good discount on a skirt that she had in her shop. She even cooked us a meal so we could taste real Mexican food.
Campeche is a quiet town, ideal to wind down. We loved walking on the Malecon, the boulevard along the sea, and purchasing fresh fish from the fishermen, to cook in our kitchen. We hope to see Steve and Emilia soon and thank them again for their hospitality.
