      Incredible Thanksgiving Holiday

Left on 12/11/2012 for a stay in November 2012

We met our daughter, son in law, and 4 grandchildren ranging in age from 5-13 for Thanksgiving at the Harvest Moon. They live in Virginia and we are from Ohio. The house is a perfect size with 4 bedrooms and 2 baths, and has a wonderful kitchen. We cooked a traditional turkey dinner and it was really fun with our daughter and myself using the large island for assembling the various dishes. While the turkey was roasting, some of us took a long walk around the area, and it is really beautiful! We played Uno Attack with our grandchildren every day at the large kitchen table, and their laughter could be heard throughout the house. To make the holiday even more perfect, it snowed all day on Saturday and was truly beautiful on the trees and ground. This trip was so much fun, just being together and was so comfy with the fireplace in the evenings. This was the first time my husband and I had been to this area, and we loved it. We will definitely plan more trips where we can all stay in one location. It was so much more fun than going to DC to visit them and staying in a hotel. This was truly a wonderful holiday. The management company does a great job, both before arrival and afterwards with questions. Thanks for all of your help. Mary Kay Wagner

      Almost Heaven at Harvest Moon

Left on 09/16/2012 for a stay in September 2012

We had had a few days at this cabin earlier in August with some family members. It was such a nice event we decided to take a few more in September. What a great place and everything you could possibly ask for in a cabin. The cabin is outfitted with comfortable beds, every possible thing you would need in a kitchen, and was just a lovely cabin to stay in for a mini-vacation. The outside was so nice and we spent time on the deck just soaking up Mother Nature. This is one of our favorite spots and we plan to return.

      An excellent stay

Left on 08/25/2012 for a stay in August 2012

We enjoyed our stay at the Harvest Moon. Our family spent several very pleasant days walking on and harvesting a Huckleberry crop from the adjacent Dolly Sods access. the house was very accommodating for the family. We would use Best of Canaan again to secure a house to stay in.
As a professional Property Manager I was very impressed with Best of Canaan.

      Harvest Moon

Left on 08/19/2012 for a stay in August 2012

We stayed here for four days. It was a beautiful cabin with the surroundings we were looking for. The cabin was outfitted with everything you need. We didn't want to leave and cooked some meals, but had to sample some of the local quisine and it was delicious. We are handicapped so beware most of the beds are very high and the toilets are very low. That being said, we made some adjustments with a little stool supplied by the owners and made it into bed. And there are alternative bedrooms with other beds. Some of the best sleep we've had in a long time. Don't miss out on this gem in the forest.

      Vacation 6/8/2012

Left on 06/18/2012 for a stay in June 2012

The cottage was beautiful and in a beautiful location but... there was a strong smell of mold in the back first floor bunk room, Screens upstairs were bent so you couldn't open the windows at night (bugs came in)there was no working smoke alarm on the first floor, there were several dirty dishes (two pans still had cooking grease in them)but the mold smell was the real culprit. We would stay in this cabin again if these things were addressed. Donna moved us to Mountain Shadow which was beautiful in every way and we had a wonderful finish to our stay. Thanks Donna for going above and beyond for our comfort.

      Awesome Place

Left on 06/13/2012 for a stay in May 2012

The Harvest Moon was great. The location is very convenient and the house is very roomy and feels just like your own house. The deck was amazing, we were able to grill and just hang out and enjoy nature. Our dog loved it too. We were able to gate off the deck and let her run around. The whole area was very nice. Donna at Best of Canaan was very informative and helpful. We are looking forward to staying here again.

The sheets on the lst flr dbl bed felt like burlap. The light over the stove was so dim you could hardly see to cook. But most of all we missed the Hot Tub. This was our 3rd stay at this house. Had the hot tub for the first 2. We like the house otherwise but getting too old for those high beds!

      Mountain Nirvana

Left on 04/03/2012 for a stay in April 2012

I highly recommend Harvest Moon. The property is extremely comfortable and well maintained. It is inside a gated community that has hundreds of acres of common areas and several great hiking trails. It also has access from within the community to the Dolly Sods and the National Wildlife Refugee. There are also two large lakes on the property.
The property is set into the side of a mountain in the woods about 40 yards off the road. It has a great deck where you can sit outside (almost like having a picnic in the woods). The kitchen area is an open design with lots of windows so you can look out and see right into the woods.
The management company that operates the rentals is fantastic. They are always available and go out of their way to accomomdate any needs you might have. I have had nothing but good experiences with them.
Harvest Moon is plain and simple a fantastic place to get away from the city and relax.

Left on 07/20/2011 for a stay in July 2011

We were out of propane for the grill, but were reimbursed for it-the house was great, kitchen well equiped-lacked screen doors, but maybe they wouldn't get shut anyway. needed more dishwasher pellets and trash bags.

Great deal for the price, love the location and nature found in the area. Fishing in the lakes was wonderful and did not have to purchase an expensive short-term lisence.
