We sincerely appreciate the handicap enterance, and the new deck furniture is great. However, for a handicapped person, getting in and our of bed is a major problem. The two new beds on the first floor are to high for a handicapped person. The master bedroom bed is impossible for my husband to get into safely because of the height of the mattress. He is 6 foot tall and cannot sit on the side of the bed. It's to high. It takes to men to get him into bed at night. Also it appears that there is a standard mattress on a queen frame leaving about a 4 inch wood frame to try to avoid hitting while getting into and out of bed.

It was a good vacation house. I felt that the family room, where everyone spends most time together, was very small and congested. No AC was a problem for us since it's still summer, we had to keep windows open, and some windows didn't had nets so bugs would get in. Also, the extended front yard of the house looked really bad with tall grass, wonder why it can't be cleaned up? The positives were an awesome kitchen area - that's where we spend maximum time, and nice deck, clean bathrooms, linens, clean bedrooms, fire pit, fire wood supply, awesome walking trails. Overall it was a good house.

The location was private. The view is outstanding and the home was clean. We really enjoyed our stay. Two screens were missing which I would recommend they replace because it could be too hot without all the windows open.

We enjoyed our stay so much! It was beautiful, the house has a terrific view. The kids hiked all around, picked blueberries in Dolly Sods, took a trail ride, play ping-pong, enjoyed making s'mores around the fire.

We have been staying at Lakeview manor for everal yars and it is our favorite place of all that we have rented. Our golf group loves coming here and the new deck and furnishings were a huge hit this year. The staff at Best of Canaan realty could not be any more helpful and accommodating. We feel like we have known them for many years. The views are wonderful and the house is perfect for our needs.

This home was perfect for our needs. The rental agent, Donna, did a great job of finding us the perfect house. It was spacious, roomy enough for a large family gathering. The new deck is spectacular and the views were ultra relaxing and peaceful. This house is an easy drive to any number of activities in the area, from hiking and fishing to the swimming pool at the state park.

My friends and I stayed here for a weekend spring skiing trip. The proximity to Timberline was great, especially with the view of the pond below. The house was beautiful and very well supplied for cooking some wonderful meals. We felt very at home. The only issue would be the condition of the game tables in the garage. There was no air hockey table (contrary to the description), the foosball table was in VERY sad shape, and the ping pong table could use a new net. Besides that, the place was great!

Downstairs bath with corner shower leeks badly. No screen in bunk room and room smells musty. Same living room furniture has been in house for 23 years.

I recently stayed at this property with my family of twelve; 3 children and 9 adults. Overall, the location is great, and the view of the lake and valley very nice. The layout of the house is excellent with 4 bedrooms plus the loft, which provided ample accommodations and separation for sleeping. The kitchen area with large center island, and large dinning table that seats 14 was especially welcome for my large family. Overall, the design is very nice with a rustic charm throughout.
The house was however very warm without A/C and many fans needed to be used including 4 that were brought with us. Even then, it was uncomfortable at times.
The biggest detriment to this property was the dampness and mold and mildew smell on the lower level. Rust on the electric baseboard heating units leads me to believe that this has been an on-going issue for some time. There were several air freshener type "plug-ins" presumably an attempt to mask these odors. The condition also did not allow some of my family members to be able to sleep in their assigned bedrooms forcing group sleeping in the living room. A dehumidifier going in the garage was also unexpected.
It is unfortunate because these things spoiled an otherwise great property. Addition of some type of A/C and correction of the damp conditions could truely make this a 5 star rental.
I would also like to comment that the property management was very helpful and did an excellent job of booking this rental and providing much assistance for our trip. I do not believe that the poor condition of this property is a reflection of their performance. -

Gorgeous setting & views. Well laid out. Kitchen/dining areas--perfect! This was exactly what we hoped for, not overly fancy, not "campish." Would love to come back to this house in the summer as well! Staff was quite helpful and pleasant. Thanks to all!
