BaltimoreBeautiful, quiet, convenient

We stayed here with our four young kids. It's in a community of cabins, but situated at the top of the mountain, which does give it privacy and easy access to nature - in fact, there is a terrific trail just a minute by foot from the cabin. The cabin itself is lovely with plenty of room for large families. Our kids, ages 2,4,6 and 8, had a great time in the cabin and hope to go back in the fall. The owners are terrific in their communication with the renters as well. I'd highly recommend this cabin.

Painesville, OHComfortable home in an excellent location!

This house is better than we expected!! The house sits at the top of the mountain in a wood-like setting making it very quiet. I traveled there with my husband, my mother, my father, and my 2 dogs. We had a great time! The house is comfortable and welcoming! My husband and I stayed in one of the downstairs rooms and my parents stayed in on of the upstairs rooms. The kitchen had everything we needed to prepare our meals and the large table was nice for our dinners. We enjoyed relaxing on the large deck!
You definitely would need 4 wheel drive in the winter and a low profile vehicle may have some problems getting up the mountain, but we loved that we were the only ones at the top (the other houses were not occupied during our stay)!
My dogs loved walking the trails right outside the door with us.
The location of the house puts you close enough to Timberline, Canaan Valley, and Blackwater Falls. We drove around and explored the area during the day and cozied up on comfortable couch in the evenings.Response from Frank and Bridget Fico - 11/05/2011

Troy, NYWonderful experience!

This was the most relaxed I have been in years. After traveling for work for more than 36 years, I slept better (and longer) than I have in years. The house is very comfortable, love that it is high up the mountain, with walking and cross country ski trails right outside the door. Sitting on the deck was like being drenched in beauty. I'm not a skier, nor was it the season. I just loved the peace, the exquisite beauty, feeling as if I could reach up and touch the stars. It was a perfect respite from a hectic world.
It is a lovely home, well-appointed, comfortable, well-maintained and very clean. Lovely venue. I'll definitely return and tell my friends about it. The care taken with the property is evident on the drive up the mountain.
My 85-year-old mother was with me and she was equally comfortable and relaxed.
