Description from the owner
You are invited to experience The Cottage at Canadensis, a new and unique bed and breakfast inn nestled in a country setting. A quiet , understated elegance describes the accomodations at The Cottage at Canadensis Inn. The three guest suites have been renovated and updated to make you comfortable. Jean and Mike, former owners and innkeepers at Tanglewood Hall in York Harbor, Maine, have transported their interest in innkeeping to their new home, built in 1918. The guest suites with ensuite baths and sitting areas overlook landscaped gardens and walkways, which are a short distance from Middle Branch Creek. Please go to the website cottageatc...Read more

Green Lane, PennsylvaniaWonderful, relaxing stay in Canadensis
Left on 10/17/2011 for a stay in October 2011
We just got back from our stay at the Cottage at Canadensis and we couldn't have been happier with the facilities, the service or the inn's owners. We can't wait to visit again! Our room, the Susquehanna Suite, was a seperate but attached suite with a private entrance and cozy private deck. It was very spacious, tastefully decorated and had an electric fireplace and small flatscreen TV. The huge bathroom in the suite included a large stall shower and a soaking tub. The bedroom is surrounded by woods and the sound of the creek, a short walk from the suite, was soothing. Everything was immaculately clean. The bed was very comfy (I am 8 months pregnant).
Mike and Jean, the owners, are very knowledgeable and offered great suggestions for lunch and dinner, as well as area activities. They were not the least bit intrusive but were very personable and friendly. Jean was also great with accomodating my husband's dietary restrictions (celiac disease) for breakfast. We brought his bread for her to cook with. Breakfast was very tasty and they offered lots of options aside from the hot meal like yogurt, granola, cereal and pastries/toast. Breakfast (French toast) came with a delicious fruit cup and your choice of beverage from the Keurig, as well as juice and muffins.
The location was fantastic as it was close to local shops in Mountainhome, as well as Callie's Candy Kitchen and Pretzel Factory. We also visited a fantastic restaurant in Stroudsburg, Sarah Street Grill, about 25 minutes away, with fantastic food and a gluten-free menu.
Our only complaint was that we couldn't stay longer at the cottage. Thanks Jean and Mike for a wonderful, relaxing stay. It was just what we needed for a little time away! -

Stayed here on a short business trip and was a great pick over the blandness of local hotels. Enjoyed falling asleep to the sounds of the stream and frogs in a beautiful and comfy room. Felt like this home was my home and could unwind in the living room or especially liked evenings on the grand front porch. Hosts Mike and Jean were very attentive to every need though allowed for privacy. Highly recommend for business, a romantic week-end or for R & R.
