Eugene, OregonFantastic personal care from an unforgettable hostess!
Left on 02/14/2013 for a stay in February 2013
Our stay at the Residencial Bridec condominiums was all we hoped it would be and then some. Since friends had warned us before our trip that facilities in Mexico are sometimes substandard in the area of utilities, plumbing, WiFi etc., we were delighted to find everything in our condo in excellent working order, no different than in our own home in the U.S. The unit we stayed in was beautifully appointed, the rooms enormous and airy, and the views from our private balcony simply breathtaking. And when we could tear ourselves away to do some sightseeing, the location was perfect, being close to the R1 bus that circles the Hotel Zone. We were also relieved to be away from the noisy "party central" area of the strip; our neighbor on one side was a very quiet small hotel, and on the other, the Governor of Cancun's mansion, so we had the entire beach out front all to ourselves.
However, the highlight of our trip actually arose from a very unfortunate incident, when I lost my passport during an all-day excursion to visit ruins and do some snorkelling. I called anabel, who instantly took over the long and confusing process of getting a replacement in time for my return flight home. Since she is perfectly bilingual (I am not!) and a longtime resident of Cancun, she was able to pick me up at our door and drive me all over town, acting as translator and facilitator at the succession of necessary stops - Consulate, bank, photographer, courier service, Immigration. She accomplished what would have been impossible for me to do quickly on my own: I had a temporary passport in my hand 24 hours after I first phoned her!
As a rule I like to go to a new place each year on my annual trip, but in the case of Cancun, I would love to return. Visiting a gorgeous part of the world, staying in lovely quarters, and being looked after by a hostess like anabel is an experience worth repeating!Response from Anabel Peterssen - 02/14/2013

Moose Jaw, CanadaSpacious, great price, beautiful beach
Left on 02/14/2013 for a stay in February 2013
This was our first trip to Cancun. The condo was very spacious for our family of 5. It really is right at the beach which is amazing - beautiful sand etc.. The beach is great for lounging, wading/playing in the water (close to shore), shell finding and walking. The beach a couple places over in either direction is great for kids and famillies to head out onto water/sand bars and play - with life gaurds. Safe if you are careful and smart (our kids ages 10-15). Anabel was very accomidating, friendly and helpful - understanding our needs and giving us advice that fit our values etc.. Internet connection worked great! La Isla is a short walk away and is beautiful (and expensive depending on your tastes :)) We rented a car to save money on trips since we are a family of 5. This was great for us but not necasary - buses and taxis/shuttles abound and the driving is a bit crazy. The staff at the condo were awesome - helpful, always smiling. Huge bedrooms. Kitchen is good - have to clean up food well or tiny ants come (a reality in other tropical places we have been). My favourite part about the condo is the location right at the beach - not even walking through a block or two of grass, pools, condo grouds to get there...it's just steps and your there. Thanks anabel! It's always a but of a risk trying somthing like this out and this one paid off. Had a great holiday. Wasn't sure when booking if we wanted to be on the 3rd floor but once we got there we loved this, it felt much safer!

Anabel was very helpful in all aspects of our vacation. We normally stay in our condos so this was a bit different for us, but we expected that. I mainly gave this rating a 4 because of the beach. It is beautiful and worth the small inconveniences associated with staying here. A few times (it rained pretty hard) we lost all water pressure so showering before going out for the evening was a challenge, but the maintenance people were right on it after the first time. The building could use a little face-lift, but since we really don't spend much time there anyway, it really wasn't that big of an issue. Again, the beach makes it worth it! Thank you anabel!

Hello Holly, thanks for the nice review, our building is scheduled to get a face lift by the end of February........it will look beautiful next time you come, and thank you for bringing the issue of the water pressure, I notified our maintenance department and it has been fixed.

We cant stop talking about our weeklong stay at Bridec. Not a day goes by that we aren´t daydreaming about our next vacation. We now know that between anabel´s three condos, that we can accomodate at least 25 people.
While we stayed at the other 3 bedroom condo, we made friends with the party that was at this one and it is just as comfortable as ours. This one also sleeps 10. Large master br, ample dining space, bedroom 2 has doubles, bedroom 3 has 2 doubles. Each bedroom has a bath with mirrors, shower, marble vanity, hanging closet with shelves and storage space. Kitchen with granite counters, micro, coffee maker, toaster, blender, pots and pans, utensils and serving dishes. Full laundry room.
There is plenty of equipment to enjoy the pool and the waters´ edge. Our new friends agreed that the biggest plus is that you don´t have to parade through a lobby full of people in wet clothes to get to your room.
From May to October, the giant sea turtles arrive at this beach to lay their eggs. We had the privilege of experiencing this event nearly every night we were there, either in front of our condo or off in the distance because a patrol of protection groups is always available to collect the eggs and take them to an incubation area next door to the condo. Awesome!
This is the perfect location, next door to the Governor´s Mansion, it´s beautiful. It is a mile from the party district, the Flamingo Mall and convenience store right across the street. Out Back Steakhouse, Margaritaville a block away, Eloy's delicious tacos outside the front door. Eat out, cook, or order in.
The security and staff were friendly and helpful in every way and we felt 100% safe on this property. What is still a mystery to me is how the personnel had the memory to call us all by name. It must be the water.
We are already planning our next vacation here.

If you're looking for an economical room in Cancun, this is it. Enjoy Cancun as a "native" without the hustle and bustle of a grandiose hotel. This room is located in a small (12 apts) condo on a magnificent, quiet beach; it has a pool, bbq, guarded 24 hours, close to hotels, restaurants, and malls. The room is very clean, has a coffee machine, small fridge and tv. I didn't bring my computer, so I don't know if it has wifi. Anabel, the manager, made my stay extremely enjoyable - she speaks both English and Spanish and was very accommodating. She also has a two bedroom and a three bedroom rental at the same condo. I hope to be back next year.
