Great cabin! Best view ever! It's so high up from everything, feels like we are the only one! The drive up the steep driveway was a little scary but it's not bad once you are use to it. Cabin was very clean, has wifi and cable, its great!

Left on 01/26/2012 for a stay in November 2011
We were somewhat afraid when we turned into the unit's road due to the surrounding structures, however, once we topped the hill (away from civilization) we were pleasantly surprised!! This unit is on the top of the mountain with panoramic views. We couldn't have been more happy. The unit was clean and had every accomodation we were looking for. We will be back!!!

Carrboro, NCGreat view and ideal for large group
Left on 11/05/2010 for a stay in September 2010
This place was perfect for our group of 7 people! Plenty of space, big and open--we utilized the bbq grill, fire pit and hot tub both nights. What a great view and relaxing atmosphere! The electronic combination door locks were very convenient too. The driveway is a little steep, but it wasn't a problem and definitley worth it for the location. Only thing I didn't really care for were some of the policies--I found them to be very strict, and for the price, I would expect to do less set-up/preparation for the cleaning staff.

We are thrilled to hear that you enjoyed your stay at Among the Clouds Getaway! We are glad that you got to experience that it truly is among the clouds. It can be difficult to understand the vacation rental business as opposed to the hotel business- we work very hard to ensure that every guest receives a clean, safe, and private experience in a whole house as opposed to a room. We also need a written contract to protect the home owner as they are trying to do business. Fortunately we have rules and regulations in place, though, to provide all of our guests and owners with such great experiences! Please keep us in mind the next time you come to the Asheville area!

We had a wonderful time. We were able to bring our dog and it made it especially great, he loved it. Our weather was good and not too hot. I would love to go again and would if the price weren't so high.

Our stay at Among the Clouds Getaway was a great place to stay. Carolina Mornings was a delight to deal with on the phone. The house was updated - plenty of room and cozy. Also, the location was remote and out of the way. Great stay.

Columbus, OHGreat location, cute cabin
Left on 08/13/2009 for a stay in July 2009
The pictures of Among the Clouds did not do it justice. The cabin was extremely clean with lots of personal touches. The location was very close to the Biltmore and downtown Asheville and not too far from many other attractions. Our party was 3 couples coming to Asheville for white water rafting, the Biltmore, Fourth of July festivities and other area attractions and this cabin was a great place to stay. It was less expensive than hotels, had more space and allowed us to cook some meals. We also loved the keyless entry- no wasting time checking in or out! Loved the fire pit but would recommend more rocks around it so that dry grass doesn't catch on fire. The hot tub stopped working the first time we used it which was disappointing but maintenance called very quickly to correct it. The driveway is very steep but makes it a little more fun. Would be nervous to drive it in the winter. Would definently stay there again and recommend to friends and family!

Left on 04/23/2009 for a stay in March 2009
I never had a honeymoon. But on this glorious weekend my husband and I celebrated our 25th weddinng anniversary "Among the Clouds." He is still talking about it.The view was out of this world. Like nothing we have ever experienced. The privacy and home was everything that a couple could want. We can't wait to do it again. This will probably be how we will spend our anniversary from now on. I recommend this to anyone who wants a beautiful and quite getaway. It would also be perfect for a family vacation. Bring nothing but yourself and the food to cook. It has it all. So if you are looking for that special something and somewhere, there is no place better to spend it than Among the Clouds.

Darlington, South CarolinaShaky start but fabulous stay!
Left on 03/20/2009 for a stay in February 2009
Due to a power outage we had a bit of a shaky start but the staff was wonderful and even came to the house to find us and get us moved into a different cabin, with an even better view. The house was "Among the Clouds" and we got a kick out of the decour (fish and bears). We went for a short hike over the top mountain and woke up to watch the sunrise. The best morning was when there was a light covering of snow on the ground and then sitting in the hot-tub watching the snow fall on the mountains.
I have never been quite so content and so over-joyed, and so relaxed in over 13 years. It was very convienent to have the tickets for Biltmore there and waiting (the house and winery was amazing). We took some incredible pitures of the scenery. I think what we really enjoyed most was the quite, peaceful feeling that seemed to come over us as soon as we setteled in.
For a second honey moon, it was perfect. We had a wonderful time and hope to return again soon.
Thank you so very much for going above and beyond to make our stay so fabulous. -

Left on 10/21/2008 for a stay in October 2008
My family from three parts of the east coast met in Asheville for a long weekend. The property was a great place to stay. It was very clean, modern and well kept. It had all of the amenities of home. I believe we spent more time on the front porch than inside of the home.
Thank you for a wonderful place to stay. We will be back soon. -

We spent a wonderful labor day weekend at this cabin. My husband and I enjoyed the peaceful seclusion with our dogs. The cabin was well equipped. We really enjoyed the view of the mountains. It felt like we were out there by ourselves, but we were very close to Asheville.
The fire pit was a highlight of our stay. Each night we spent the evenings outside enjoying the view and relaxing by a fire.
We highly recommend this vacation home and look forward to visiting again soon. -

Raleigh, NCWhat a way to celebrate the big 5-0!
Left on 09/05/2008 for a stay in August 2008
To celebrate my 50th birthday, 11 friends from Chicago, Toledo, Baltimore, D.C., Atlanta and Raleigh met me at Above the Clouds and Blue Ridge Getaway. We used Above the Clouds as the hang out place due to its view, hot tub location, fire pit, roominess of the den and overall comfort and charm. We slept 6 at this cottage and 6 at the other. Being only minutes from a great little breakfast diner that makes its own delicious sausage, 20 minutes from downtown Asheville, an hour from Chimney Rock and Lake Lure, easily accessible grocers and some fine dining, one couldn't get closer to heaven . . . in more ways than one. It's one steep rise from the lower cottage but every step was worth the climb. Before we left, people were already asking if we could do this again next year. Is there higher praise?

Beautiful view!
Left on 05/20/2008 for a stay in December 2007
This rental has a fabulous panoramic view of the mountains from its
porch. The view is made all the better by the hot tub on the front
porch. The cabin is nicely decorated, is very cozy, and has a full
kitchen to meet all your needs. The cabin is located just 10-15
minutes from Asheville, so you can experience a real mountain retreat
while also being close to city.
The only negative was the hard king-size bed; we were a little sore by
the end of the weekend. And a word of warning...the driveway is very
steep. If you stay during the winter, it would be smart to park below if
you expect bad weather. We got freezing rain overnight, but had
parked below as a precaution. We are glad we did!
We would definitely stay again! My family loved it! -

Perfect Place to Relax
Left on 05/06/2008 for a stay in October 2007
Amoung the Clouds Getaway was the perfect place for our family to get away and relax. We enjoyed the beautiful views from the front porch and the quiet soundings. The place was in excellent condition and obviously well taken care of. We enjoyed being able to cook a nice meal after a long day, and the kids loved making smores outside under all the stars. What a great place to come back to after a day of sightseeing.

Wonderful
Left on 05/01/2008 for a stay in April 2008
The house was very nice. Very clean and not too cluttered. We went with two other couples and the rooms were very spacious. The driveway is a little tricky the first day. I would not recommend traveling to the cabin at night. Just make sure the first time you arrive is when the sun is still out. Hot tub and front porch have an amazing view. Very secluded and peaceful. :) Would be great for a family!
