The Blue Ridge Getaway was just that - a place for my wife and me to get away from the pressures of work and busyness and become embraced by the beauty of the Blue Ridge Mountains. It was renewing. The Blue Ridge Getaway added to the pleasure of the time spent in the mountains. It was immaculate and cozy. The provided amenities including internet allowed us to be as connected to the outside world as we wanted to be. The location provided an escape but was also convenient for going to town. It is worth the price of the cabin to sit on the front porch. I hope we can go back some day, but for now, we have nothing but pleasant memories.

We had a great family vacation in this "cabin". We didn't rough it much, as the hot tub, fire pit, and aC were perfect. The cabin was very clean and tidy upon our arrival. Beds and were very comfortable and everything was nicely decorated. Definitely take heed about the driveway. We had aWD vehicles, so we had no issues, but it could be difficulty without it.

We were greatly amazed at the beauty of our cabin. We have wanted to come to the mou.tains to a cabin such as this for at least 10 years. We enjoyed the amenities the location the weather, although snow would have been the icing on the package for us.
We are talking about returning to this cabin this year. We were very satisfied wth the cabin the cleanliness and the Hot Tub.Response from Carolina Mornings - 01/28/2012

Saint Pete, FloridaReally Nice Place!!!
Left on 02/17/2011 for a stay in January 2011
Place is beautiful, we were speechless when we got there. Rooms are nice and it felt like home. Location was not as good as we hoped to. Access road to house was way to steep and we were not able to drive car all the way up, so it was hard hike up the driveway after dinner :) I'm sure that during summer it's not as bad, as we were there during winter.

We are so glad that you enjoyed Blue Ridge Getaway- we do hope you regained your ability to speak! Being that this property offers such great views, it is located at a higher elevation. And you are correct, wintertime is the most difficult time to make it up the mountain. Please join us again soon, as every season is beautiful here in western NC, and the drive is more manageable.

I was a little surprised with the kitchen. seems like with the money spent that it should have been a little better appointed.
We made do, it all worked out just fine.Response from Carolina Mornings - 02/25/2011

We are happy that you enjoyed your stay at Blue Ridge Getaway! We are sorry that the kitchen was not up to par, but don't worry- we have given it a makeover! Over time, things do tend to wear down or disappear, and unfortunately we don't cook in the kitchen to really take stock. With valuable feedback such as yours, we are made aware of such instances. We have re-stocked the kitchen, so please come back soon and give it a try!

I stayed at this house for a few days. I had a good time, I drove into town during the day and hung out at the house at night. I stayed in summer but the weather was great all around. The house was very well taken care of and everything was in its place. The house came with all sorts of little features that almost made me feel like I had walked into and borrowed someones home.

Orlando, FloridaPeaceful and relaxing vacation
Left on 08/14/2010 for a stay in June 2010
The vacation home was very comfortable, equipped with all the necessities of home, and very clean. The hot tub, picnic area and fire pit were a hit with the kids! The home was in a good, secluded location, but quickly accessible to attractions. To improve the experience for other families, I would suggest spraying for insects and screen the porch so that it may be enjoyed without the bugs.

We had a wonderful stay at the cabin, the only issue was that the hot tub was unuseable due to the chemicals in it - could barely stay in for 5 minutes because of the toxic fumes. Other than the hot tub issue everything was wonderful. Bed was comfortable, view was amazing. Would recommend this location to friends.

Oh the joys of keeping a hot tub stable... we do try our hardest to have everything leveled out and in tip-top shape, but sometimes it is beyond us- we are sorry to hear that for you! We at Carolina Mornings appreciates your feedback and your patronage- please do recommend us, and please visit us again soon!

Charlotte, NCGreat 2-day break!
Left on 10/28/2008 for a stay in October 2008
We had a great time at the Blue Ridge Getaway. It was the perfect size for us and accommodated everybody well. We loved the hot tub and being able to grill our food and sit under the stars eating it. The only thing I would say there is get a light for the side deck.
The property was spotless and the linens were good quality. The kitchen had everything you needed, and there were games aplenty.
A great spot to take a tour into Asheville or explore the surrounding mountains. We went to Chimney Rock State Park on the way there and Ashevillle while there.
Now...the driveway - very steep. Our advice: try not to lose momentum going up and go just past the driveway and reverse in. MUCH easier! Also, if I'd known the area around the property was so steep, I may have picked a different place since my elderly Mom was with us and she had trouble getting around. However, if you have energetic kids - it's perfect!
We had a great time!! -

Raleigh, NCFor a large group, a nice partner to Above the Clouds
Left on 09/05/2008 for a stay in August 2008
We are so glad we were able to find to cottages so close together (this and Above the Clouds are less than half a mile). 12 friends were together for a weekend and we were able to comfortably sleep 6 in each cottage. This cottage doesn't really have a nice mountain range view but the living room is cozy and there is a hot tub. The driveway is a little tricky; it is a on a very steep slant and a motorcyclist had a difficult time driving the bike into the parking area (several of us had to push it the final 100 years or so) and a truck got stuck backing out of the drive as its rear tires ended up off the driveway. The beds were comfortable and it is so close to a breakfast diner that makes its own sausage (YUM!) and about 20 minutes from downtown Asheville. We would use this again if we had a very large group or if it were 2 families vacationing together and each family wanted its own cottage.

This was a wonderful cabin to stay at for 3 nights for 6 people. The hot tub was very enjoyble, and we even got to light a fire. The property was very convenient to both Gatlinburg and the Biltmore Estate.
