Villa Puri Bawana is delightfully contoured into a little over an acre (5000 sqm) of stepped rice paddies. Overhead squadrons of colourful Balinese kites look down on the terraced alang alang thatched rooms focused around a huge open sided living wantilan (pavilion) and swimming pool carved in sympathy with the surrounding fields and sloping down to a pretty stream. Villa Puri Bawana sits in the sleepy district of Canggu on a west facing rice terrace, down a short track off Raya Batu Bolong Road about 2 kilometres from the main Canggu Road. The villa backs onto some small villas and local village houses whilst its outlook on two sides is open paddy fields. A short 5 minute drive southwest takes you to the Canggu Club and the rolling surf of Echo Beach (Batu Mejan) whilst to the southeast, about 10 minutes drive away, are the trendy shops and restaurants of Seminyak. Legian and the more crowded nightlife hub of Kuta are a further 15 minutes drive away depending on the traffic. Shops such as the Bali Deli and Carrefour are in these areas although provisioning is willing undertaken by the villa staff on your behalf for a small fee. A vehicle is essential for Villa Puri Bawana and it has its own car parking area. Vehicles with drivers can be arranged by the Villa Puri Bawana manager (better in advance).

The entire experience at Puri Bawana is 5+ stars. We have stayed a number of times and the consistency of quality from the start of our stay, right until the last day is unsurpassed. The experience at Puri Bawana with its attentive staff, rivals any Four Seasons or One & Only hotel. The food is fresh everyday and the meals beautifully cooked and presented. The comfort, peace and tranquility of the villa is one of the great assets and you have to force yourself to leave and explore some of the island. The villa is superbly located for Canggu beach and for shopping in Seminak. Only trouble is ... 2 weeks is never enough...

Spent 10 nights at the Puri Bawana with 3 families. . .total of 13 people. What a fantastic place. Great outside areas, lots of quiet areas to read a book. Staff were wonderful and the food amazing. We will be back !!!

The villa was breathtakingly beautiful, with beautiful green paddy fields, everything was excellent - the facilities were great, the staff team was very polite, friendly and helpful, services were top notch, rooms were spacious and luxurious, outdoor bathtubs were wonderful, the pool was great too, with all types of adorable floats being provided too, baby items were provided as requested, everything was being very well taken care of, we have nothing to complain about, our stay was fabulous and enjoyable, the villa was like a paradise to us.

Puri Bawana is so much more than we expected. Terrific setting amongst the rice paddies. Beautifully designed villa with six large bedrooms, a large open dinning area and an air-conditioned lounge/TV room. Decent sized swimming pool with crystal clear water. Staff were really friendly and the chef could easily have worked for one of Bali's better restaurants. Rooms were well maintained and very clean. Kids loved playing in the pool, playing football on the grass, reading novels on the loungers, playing table tennis, playing badminton with the staff and their family on the local badminton court and watching from a wide selection of movies in the lounge/TV room. There's an excellent sports club nearby which we had full access to. The best part for parents is having the whole family together in one huge luxury villa where the staff made you feel that the villa was yours - at least whilst you were there. Perfect holiday. Enjoyed it so much we went two years running and plan to go back again soon.

This is the third time we have stayed in the Villa and we can't wait to return the minute the car leaves the driveway. A tranquil haven with excellent service, the Villa provides a real opportunity for rest and relaxtion. Each room is beautifully appointed and the staff are constantly cleaning and making everything comfortable for our stay. Nothing is too much trouble and the daily choices of freshly cooked food for each meal is never disappointing. Our teenage kids love it, the pool, games room and DVD library more than enough to keep them occupied. All we need to do now is book the next trip...
