Canillas de Aceituno is an authentic 'pueblo blanco' which has retained much of its original character and style and is a charming place from which to explore further afield. The National Park is immediately behind Casa Convento with the panorama over the village and hills to the sea below. A perfect hideaway for walking, reading, swimming, relaxing or take a 2 minute stroll down to to the village for a 'fino' and tapas or an authentically regional meal at one of its good-value Spanish restaurants, or pack the in-house picnic basket and head up one of the hill paths. But the beaches, international shopping, night-life and golf courses are only 25 minutes

We have just returned from our third holiday in Canillas de aceituno, but our first spent in this beautiful house. The property is absolutely perfect for a relaxing break and is within easy walking distance of the nearby shops, restaurants and bars and we felt no need to leave the village at all during our stay. The pool is a wonderful bonus and was used several times daily throughout our stay. We were provided with excellent customer service before and during our stay, by both the owner and Sonia who lives nearby. The property is immaculate and beautifully maintained. I would definately recommend this property to friends.

If you are looking for peace, quiet and relaxation amongst stunning views and in a picturesque location, you need look no further than Casa Convento. The luxurious villa is located in a beautiful tradtional Spanish mountain village and nestles on the edge of a national park. It is close to tourist destinations and beaches and provides a wealth of opportunities for hiking, sunbathing, day trips and , of course, sampling the local cuisine!

I've already written a massive review on Holiday Lettings - but suffice to say, this is one of the nicest houses we've had the pleasure to stay in.
The decor is superb, the dumb waiter is darned useful, the bed is divine, a/c a winner, layout excellent & the pool is everything one needs!
The village is an easy walk down, more of a struggle going home, but you get used to it. We spent a mad night celebrating Spain winning the World Cup in La Sociedad - fabulous, surreal fun. We ate there another night and thoroughly enjoyed - fairly simple Spanish fayre that's very tasty.
You will not regret booking this beautiful house. Enjoy! -

The house in the village of Canillas de aceituno is a great place to stay - an authentic Spanish village in the hills east of Malaga. I can't praise it enough - especially the top floor where you have the kitchen and dining room, with the terrace which overlooks the village and surrounding hills. The view from here at different times of day is incredible, magical. The facilities are great, including the satellite TV and pool.
We went to the festival that takes place in Malaga during august, with outdoor music and drinking, and even went to a bull fight! Not an experience to be forgotten.
We are also grateful to the English couple that live locally and look after the place. They helped to call the doctor when our daughter was ill during the holiday, which we much appreciated.
