Lovely beachside apartment in Cannes La Bocca

Residence Maeva Cannes Verrerie is a great spot for a summer holiday on the French Riviera. Situated 1.8 miles (3 km) from Cannes city centre and the famous La Croisette, it enjoys an outstanding location only a few steps from the beach and the lively shopping area of Cannes La Bocca. To walk along the seafront to Cannes city centre takes about 15 minutes or you can take the very regular bus which will take you into Cannes centre in 5 minutes. The apartment is 2 minutes walk to the La Licorne cinema, which is one of the exhibitor cinemas during the Cannes Film Festival. There is a free shuttle service to the Palais des Festivals in Cannes... during major conferences/events/Film Festival. If you use the public transport bus it will cost you 1 euro no matter how many places/sights in the region you wish to see or travel to.

The complex is spread out in two circular arcs around the two outdoor swimming pools. The beach is literally just across the main road, barely 20 meters away. The apartment has a 10 m² balcony and beautiful flower gardens. The apartment is on the fifth floor giving it panoramic views, this is a beautiful residence. There are plenty of lifts in the complex so there is no need to use the stairs.

If you wish to drive your own vehicle the apartment comes with a secure private parking space below the complex. The maximum height for any vehicle is 1.85 meters.

Within the residence is a fitness room, a games room, a luggage/storage room, 2 phone boxes, and a bistro offering light meals in the season.

The apartment has one double bedroom an orthopaedic mattress for those with bad backs. Also the apartment can sleep three in the living room. The apartment is fully furnished with all linen plus towels for the bathroom and the beach. Also all necessary crockery and dish cloths etc. are provided. There is a washer/dryer, a hair dryer, an oven and microwave, a rotisserie, a toaster, a fridge with a small freezer compartment, heating and a small air conditioning unit. The apartment is equipped with beach chairs and two umbrellas, a picnic hamper and crockery for the beach.

The apartment is very well maintained, providing comfortable accommodation and comes with all the necessary amenities. Space is approximately 28 square metres comprising 1 double bedroom plus a living area with 2 single sofa beds and 1 pull out divan bed, so the apartment can sleep a total of 5 people. The apartment is South West-facing with a balcony of 10 square meters.

WiFi Internet access is available at an additional cost to be paid at the reception which I think is 8 Euros a day. Otherwise there are plenty of internet cafes across the road from the complex. I would advise not using any laptops on the balcony for security reasons.

In addition, the Residence Maeva Cannes Verrerie organizes an array of leisure and sporting activities, as well as excursions and sightseeing tours around Cannes and the French Riviera.

Otherwise rest by the swimming pools, or cross the main road and you are on the beach.

In the alleyway opposite the entrance of the building you will find four very good restaurants, the French one in particular is excellent. However there are many other local restaurants to enjoy. Local market day in Cannes La Bocca is Saturday (mornings only) although there is a general food market most mornings.

There are plenty of local supermarkets and shops and opposite the complex is a pharmacy. If you are looking for a very large supermarket you need to turn left at the top of rue de la Verrerie and keep walking until you reach the roundabout and then it is on your right.

My cleaner charges 14 Euros an hour if you would like her to come and clean the apartment during your stay. Also she can pick you up from the airport and drive you directly to the apartment. She charges Euros 60 for this service, which is less than half the price of a taxi. Also she offers babysitting services. If you require any of these services I can organise it or I will give you her mobile telephone number and email address so you can organise it directly with her if that is easier. Additional Location Information

You can independently visit Fragonard Parfumeur or wander around Grasse or visit Eze, a village in the mountains nearby, all of which are easily accessible by bus (for one euro) or train. Also you can visit Nice, again one euro by bus. If you go for lunch there I would recommend the bistro cafe at Hotel Negresco on the Promenade des Anglais as it is excellent value and delicious.
If you venture further you can get the train to Ventimiglia in Italy where they have a fabulous market day, a return ticket by train is reasonably priced and the journey time is 1.5 hours. Also there is Monte Carlo, Monaco en route to Italy if you have the energy!
You can use either the Cannes La Bocca train station or Le Bosquet station which is just as close to the apartment and has a quicker journey time.
