Cannon Beach Travel Resources

Up in the northwestern corner or Oregon, Cannon Beach is one of the western-most cities in the country, being trumped only by
Alaska and Hawaii. Because of its cool ocean climate, Cannon Beach is home to some of the country's most unique wild animals.
Moose, elk, and other antlered game can all be found near the city, and hikers enjoy the wildlife along area's many trails.
In town, Cannon Beach's main street can be traveled via shuttle, which also stops in Tolovana Park, a nearby town and one of the
area's best spots to visit. The short drive to Portland means that daytrips to the city are also a possibility during your
vacation. For those who love shopping, Cannon Beach offers many unique options, as the area discourages franchises in order to
support local business owners and give the town more of a tight-knit atmosphere for visitors to enjoy.
One of the most recognized area landmarks, Haystack Rock, is also located along the beach. The structure, a 235-foot
steep-sided rock, is the third-tallest rock in the world that it is above water during low tide, and inaccessible by
foot at high tide. Another curious attraction in Cannon beach is a wooden whale that can be visited within the city.
Cannon Beach offers its visitors a chance to enjoy nature, partake in local shopping, and visit rare landforms.
Take a relaxing vacation that's one for the books on this cozy, beach-front town.
