      Magical

Left on 05/09/2013 for a stay in February 2013

We were looking for a home that would hold three families that allowed private space (and bathrooms) but had plenty of common areas that was also oceanfront. After just the first few hours, no one wanted to ever leave! We all agreed we need to come back as often as it was available.

The staff at Cannon Beach Vacation Rentals were very helpful in answering questions and helping us make our decision.

For anyone with mobility issues, there are a few steps up into the main living space and, if stairs are a problem, it is possible to remain upstairs (only TV is in the master bedroom but you don't need it with the amazing view) and enjoy the view from the upper deck and giant picture windows.

      Wonderful

Left on 11/18/2012 for a stay in October 2012

Great house. Beautiful sunsets. The house is very well maintained and very comfortable.
The weather could have cooler, we only had one evening to enjoy the fireplace. Oh well, what do you expect on the northern Oregon coast during the end of September / October?

John and the staff at Cbvr are great.
      We will back!
      Thank you.

      Mesmerizing view

Left on 08/30/2012 for a stay in July 2012

This is our 2nd time booking with Cannon Beach Vacation Rentals and we booked this house on the recommendation of the Cbvr. We were a group of 14 (with some small children) and Cove Beach Lodge was one of the rare houses that met the requirements of 14 people and on the beach.

Highlights were the stunning view from the living room, the private firepit (comes with very nice firewood) and watching the blanket of stars lying on the deck.

Kitchen - Liked the 6 burner professional stove. Careful with the Fridge door - design flaw makes it difficult to close. One of our party did not close it properly one night by accident and we had to throw out the meat and milk.

Definitely a party house. On a couple of cook rainy days, it was so pleasant to light a fire, look out at the sea and read a book, play a board game, or read the ipad. Note: Limit of 10 users on the wifi.

Amazingly quiet with 7 kids ranging from 13 to 3.5. Maybe it is because of the downstairs location of the TV. The kids rambled around on the lawn freely and the adults could keep an eye on them from the house. Lots of indoor/outdoor. The girls collected rocks from the beach and painted them with the paints provided.

A tiny bit disappointed about the beach. Loved the little private stretch but our personal preference is to walk for miles along Cannon Beach and Cove Beach/Arch Cape is just a different type of beach. At low tide we made it to the next beach over but if you are walking on sand, be prepared to get wet in some places. We saw just one or two people walking by the beach each day.

Some of our group loved the privacy. Some were neutral but a few of felt that the house was too secluded and quiet. They made sure we used the usual precautions and locked all the windows and doors. This is prudent practice anywhere in the world.

Service of Cbvr - Always pleasant, courteous and accommodating. And very professional with nice little touches - there was a 'in case you left your toiletries at home' basket in the hallway closet filled with toothbrushes, razors, etc. Noticed all the kitchen linens/towels are all 'standardized' Cbvr. Liked the welcome 1/2 pound of coffee. Detailed instructions and labels on everything plus Cbvr is only a phone call away.

      A home away from home

Left on 07/10/2012 for a stay in June 2012

Excellent facility. Sleeping arrangements for the 13 of us was spacious and comfortable. Eating in the kitchen and on deck was roomy. The only complaint we have is we wish there was better access to the beach . We had to crawl over rocks on all fours to get to the beach as people in our 60's. Impossible to bring our small children down to the beach. We had to drive into Cannon Beach town to access beach directly. Next time we will look for a home that sleeps 13 with a better approach to the beach.

      Relax and Renew

Left on 05/30/2012 for a stay in May 2012

We stayed in the Cove Beach Lodge for a long weekend. This is a special space. It is very inspiring, relaxing and beautiful. The large windows from all the rooms allow you to be constantly reminded of the vast sea just outside. No much of a "beach" except at low tide, but great views nonetheless. The house was very tidy and had all the little things we needed for the kitchen and bedrooms. This house would be great for any family event or special occasion. We are grateful for our time spent here and hope to return!

Fantastic place to stay but be careful

Left on 09/18/2011 for a stay in August 2011

The house was great inside and out. The ten of us, from 13 months old to 73 years old were well accommodated. You had the feeling that you were completely isolated on your own beach.

The only issue was pedestrian safety on the entry walk and on the patio off the basement. Both have unmarked steps which caused my wife to fall twice, requiring a trip to the Seaside Emergency Room.

      Perfection for Grandma's Retirement Celebration!

Left on 09/18/2011 for a stay in August 2011

This was the highest quality possible vacation experience. The details of this lovely home give a positive energy of welcome the minute of arrival. Every need has been anticipated (thanks for the great rock painting party you provided!) Absolutely perfect for three families, three generations (grandpa loved that there was a floor for "noisy" and a floor for conversation and cards!) three children, and three women working together in the kitchen. It all worked! Our only suggestion is that it would have helped for coordination of plans if we had known in advance that cell phones don't work there. This was a long planned big family deal. It turned out to be perfect! Thank you for doing something we didn't think could happen--improving upon our many years of beach vacations.

Wonderful house. Well laid out for a group of individuals to enjoy being together, yet have enough space for all ages to play together. Every detail has been thought of. The view... spectacular. Loved having great access to beach. The fire pit so delightful. This is just a spectacular house that feels like a home. Will be back to make more incredible memories.

We very much enjoyed our stay! The house was excellent for 4 families including 7 teens - they really did well with the chess table and ping pong table while we were inside. The fire pit provided hours of fun. The upstairs common area was fabulous for relaxing, chatting, planning, viewing the ocean - very nice!!!
