Description from the manager
Classic vintage style cottage provides the quintessential Cannon Beach experience. A grape stake picket fence and covered front porch greet you as you arrive. With 1400 square feet of living space, there is plenty of room for everyone to stretch out in. French doors open out to sunny antique brick patio with picnic table where you can hear the ocean waves.
White washed pine paneling throughout with antique fixtures and nautical artifacts lend the house a classic, comfortable feel. A 40" Plasma TV is in the great room for movies at night. Lucie's is in the Chapman Point area of Cannon Beach on north side of town only a few block walk to...Read more

Happy Valley, ORA charming cottage
Left on 09/04/2012 for a stay in September 2012
We just spent a week at Lucie's Cottage in Cannon Beach. It was perfect for us, our daughter and son-in-law, and three year old granddaughter. The cottage had one king bedroom with bath upstairs, and a queen bed with a trundle downstairs with another bath. The large shower heads were wonderful! The kitchen is very well stocked with everything you could ask for. We liked the open floor plan also. The beach access has a steep hill that leads to a very nice, uncrowded area. The cottage is within walking distance of town. The only problem was that it claimed to have a recycle bin, but we were not able to find it! All in all, it's a place we would stay at again and recommend to friends.

Calgary, AlbertaQuiet, clean and close to everything
Left on 09/19/2011 for a stay in September 2011
The cottage is clean, comfortable and had newer/higher end appliances - which were all a breeze to use (and very much appreciated). We had no problem working the stereo, dvd player or tv - the instructions were great.
Town is close - we have a 3 year old and it was a bit far for her to walk to, around and back home again - but I put her on my shoulders or we drove the three minutes it took to get to town. The beach was also close - a beautiful, quieter section of beach is just up a pretty steep but short hill (you can walk on the road or there are steps) or you can access the beach through Les Shirley park (in the next block over and no hills) and walk around to nicer areas.
All in all it's a beautiful, well cared for, quiet and easy to feel at home in cottage. We thoroughly enjoyed our time there - next time it will be for longer!

Vancouver, BCexceeded our expectations
Left on 08/23/2011 for a stay in July 2011
we expected the house to be small and pokey but instead it was bright, airy and modern. All the fittings felt new, except the bed sheets. It was close to the beach, but the uphill hike was tough especially when carrying stuff and little ones.

Olympia, WAGreat place!
Left on 05/12/2011 for a stay in April 2011
We really enjoyed our time at Lucie's Cottage. The place is much more impressive than the pictures indicate: it is spacious; the appliances and granite countertops are very nice, and the neighborhood where it is located is a comfortable walk from downtown Cannon Beach (but far enough away that it is nice and quiet). The bathrooms are nice -- and the showers are great! The town of Cannon Beach and Lucie's Cottage are each a real treat -- and we'll be reurning for sure!

Left on 09/23/2010 for a stay in September 2010
We had a great time at Lucie's cottage. The decor was just right for a beach cottage. We loved all of the finishing in the house. It was in a quiet area with easy access to the beach close by. I would stay here again. The only negative we encounter was spiders, there were alot of webs outside and we did come across a couple inside too.

Tacoma, WaPerfect honeymoon house
Left on 04/22/2010 for a stay in April 2010
My husband and I stayed here for several days on our honeymoon. This house was perfect! While it was a little bigger than we needed, it was a beautiful home and I can't imagine us staying anywhere else. Checking in and out was incredibly easy, and the staff at CBVR was so friendly.
The house overall was immaculate. We loved the main living space, and when we weren't trekking the beach, the town, or the park, we spent the majority of our time in here. The kitchen had all we needed in it and we had fun cooking our meals there. We enjoyed getting cozy in front of the fireplace and watching a movie on the flat screen with surround sound. The ipod hookup was also really nice to have; we'd put on our own tunes while we made dinner. The jetted bath tub was perfect for soaking in after getting cold and wet out on the beach.
Location was perfect. It's on the quiet north side of town and about a block or so from the beach. That stretch of the beach had few visitors. We were one block from the entrance to Ecola park, 2 blocks to get onto 101, and Downtown was just a 10 minute walk away, though most the time we drove in.
I couldn't think of anything bad to say about this place. The only thing I wasn't crazy about was that the master bedroom's mattress is quite firm, but it was nothing that prevented us from enjoying our stay at Lucie's Cottage. We'd love to come back for our anniversary. -

Seattle, WAPerfect Retreat!
Left on 02/17/2010 for a stay in February 2010
Our family of five (two adults and three kids) had a fantastic time at Lucie's Cottage! We hated to leave. What a charming, relaxing retreat for us. It was the perfect size for our family, giving all of us plenty of room to play games, craft, read and enjoy movies. The weather was stormy, but we didn't care as we were nice and cozy inside. CBVR was so great and provided a pack-n-play and high chair for us which was a huge help. The house is beautifully decorated, new and clean and so easy to use. The kitchen is well stocked with cooking equipment which was great for us as we cooked every night. We're looking forward to our stay big family in Arch Cape this summer (our annual trip), but we'd go back to Lucie's cottage in a heartbeat with just our family of five. Awsome place!

CBVR always has good service and everything we requested (Pack-n-Play, high chair) was there. The home is great. Newer construction with tremendous attention to making this a "beach cottage". If you love to cook, the cookware is quality but they don't have "everything" (garlic press, zester). And as usual, if there are specific foods you are particular about, you have to pack them in, although the Safeway in Seaside has been remodeled and has started carrying more stuff which is a huge step up (they finally have leeks!). The house has a great layout as there is plenty of space, even for a family of five, to all be in the living area and not be "on top of eachother". The home has pretty much everything you need. Location is good to great depending on what you are looking for. We love walking and just a short walk over the hill puts you on the beach just north of Ecola Creek. Kids loved it. Not very long so if you want to go for a long walk, you have to cross Ecola Creek. We were there in February so this was NOT an issue. There are too many "bests" to list. The fireplace is AWESOME but we made the mistake of leaving it on until it was 76 degrees inside but the house retains heat so well, the fireplace did not come on again until 36 hours later. What I liked least, besides the fact that we had to leave, was the downstairs shower head takes some fiddling to get it right if you are taller and the downstairs toilet doesn't always stop running. The king bed is also very firm which I loved, but my wife, not so much. This is extreme nitpicking as I have no reservations recommending this home.

Golden, ColoradoGreat Place on the North End of Town
Left on 12/15/2009 for a stay in November 2009
Don't second guess this quaint little home! The home was very clean and comfortable- straight out of Coastal Living. From its double-feather bed to it's well equip kitchen to its gas burning stove to the beautiful baths, this home was perfect for a family of four celebrating the Holiday’s. A regular in town, this was a perfect location away from it all, but still close enough. We hiked Elcoa State Park every day and being on the North end of town and Chapman Point beach was perfect. We could see all the holiday tourists at Haystack, but we felt so secluded and away from it all. We will return!

Left on 11/13/2009 for a stay in October 2009
Between the storms we had a most enjoyable vacation
with such a sweet spot to call home. Close enough to
the beach to grab those moments of clear skies.
Daughter and Granddaughter shared the downstairs
bedroom while we had our privacy upstairs and
bathrooms on both levels was nice. Lucie's is a
great spot away from the crowds of town but not too
far away. Such great decor with all the amenities
for relaxing, cooking, dining, laundry, sleeping,
television, music, games and all by a cozy fire.
What more would anyone want while enjoying time with
your family. Thank you Lucie's...we will be back! -

Booking this home over the internet was easy, quick and no problems at all. CBVR got back to me right away and was very prompt in answering questions. They gave great directions to get to their place to pick up the keys and great directions to the cottage. I booked this cottage because it was so cute on the web. Well it loved up to its pics. The home is adorable and when we walked in it was spotless, and beautiful. CBVR had left us a bag filled with coffee and mugs (thank god because I forgot coffee) so it was a perfect start to our vacation. The home is in a quiet neighborhood and very peaceful surroundings. You are just minutes from town and we walked in every day. Be sure to take some carrots or apples as there is bunnies to feed along the way. By the middle of the week they recognized us coming and ran towards us!!! This home was everything I hoped and thought it would be. There was a couple of drawbacks for me and maybe would not be an issue with others. The first one is that the t.v. was hard to work at first, funky setup. My husband figured it out but it took awhile. The second thing is that they have a lovely jetted tub upstairs, however, not enough hot water. I had the water cranked all the way on hot and barely got luke warm, so no tub. I could not find how to turn the jets on even if there was hot water. They have the hot water heater set very low. Minor setbacks in a beautiful week. I would highly recommend this home to anyone, it was a very enjoyable stay.

We put in a new / better set of instructions to control the very high end TV, Home Theater, and Sound system that is in the house!
The tub facets have anti-scald faucets. Just press while you turn on the hot water. The hot water can actually be set for very hot water for the jacuzzi so the faucet has this safety feature for children. Thank you! -

Lucie's Cottage was very comfortable for our recent family vacation. The kitchen/great room area looks even better in person than the photos! Nicely, well-stocked equipment/dishes/glassware in the kitchen. Kitchen table could be a little bigger. Enjoyed the sound system and huge CD collection. Excellent, quiet location near town and the beach. Also enjoyed close proximity to hiking at Ecola State Park. CB Vacation Rentals were very responsive to any requests. Overall, everything was great!

Boise, IDThis is great place to stay!
Left on 07/17/2009 for a stay in June 2009
We (2 parents, 2 boys - 5 and 8)stayed for a week. The house is new, and in excellent condition. It is fully stocked with all cooking equipment we needed. Dish detergent, laundry soap and toiletries are already here. The grill is great. There are 2 full bathrooms, with a tub in the master bathroom. The wireless internet worked great. There is a huge plasma TV and DVD player. they've got a high-chari in case you need one. We chose this property over another because there was a washer/dryer...can't imagine staying at the beach for a week with 2 kids without one!
The beach is only a couple of minutes away. It's an easy walk up a hill.
The house is on the North side of Ecola Creek, which means that if you want to keep your shoes on, you'll have to walk on the road to cross the creek and walk to town. If you're willing to get wet up to your knees, you can walk on the beach all the way. We actually likes being a little out of town. The beach here was less crowded.
One thing to know (if you stay): there are anti-scald valves on the showers. To get truly hot water (not luke-warm goosebump-inducing water), push in the handle while turning.
Two minor complaints: the bed in the master is rock-hard. Wow. We got used to it, but it's quite something. Also, the cable channel selection is really minimal. We didn't come to the beach for TV, but my hubby was hoping to catch something on ESPN and was unable to do so. Bring movies from home if you think you'd like to watch something.
We would happily stay here again! CBVR's service was great. -

Left on 06/17/2009 for a stay in June 2008
Lucie's Cottage is one of the nicest places I've ever rented. It has everything you'd need for a nice cozy, comfortable stay at the beach. The place has the old cottage feel although newly built. What I loved about it is the amenities. I hate having to bring my whole kitchen with me on vacation. The kitchen was fully stocked with all spices, condiments, paper products, utensils - it was like walking into my own kitchen. The bookshelves are stocked with board games, cards, cd's - all you really need to bring are your clothes and steaks for the barbq! The location is fantastic. It's a block away from the beach on the north end of Ecola Creek. It almost feels like a private beach. The great thing is if you want to go into town it's a short 1/2 mile walk to all the shops - no need to worry about parking. We can't wait to go back!

Great, quiet place in CB. Not the cheapest, but we were able to get an early season rate. Nice details like the gas grill and the outdoor "hose down" area. Fun music collection. We brought our 10 month old and she slept soundly in the upstairs room while we made plenty of noise downstairs. Only ding was they need a decent coffee maker!

We have made sure that there is now a choice of coffee makers! Both a drip and a perculator style coffee maker are now there. Thank you.

Left on 04/24/2009 for a stay in February 2009
My boyfriend and I stayed at Lucie's Cottage for a romantic Valentine's weekend.
The service was fantastic! I worked with Tootsie and Lori and both were professional but very friendly and personable.
If you're like me, you need to know if they have a wine opener...check. Or extra pillows or blankets, or a flashlight or spices (Not just salt and pepper), or crab crackers, or CD's or DVD's (that are actually COOL, for any genre...I happen to like a rare breed of music, it's called NEO-Soul and they had Maxwell's MTV Unplugged!!!)
You're not on the beach but soooo what! You're a quick drive/walk away, it's not a big deal. You're right next to downtown as well.
I can't cover all of the bases necessary to describe this property's attributes, but I can say that my experience was deliciously satisfying.
Peace and blessings!

Our stay at Lucie's Cottage between the holidays totally exceeded our expectations!
It's a beautiful place with lots of room and modern amenities. The on-line photos do not do it justice. The sofa in front of the gas fire place was especially nice after coming in out of the cold or early in the morning with that first cup of coffee.
We'd recommend it to our friends and family. -
