Great ocean front cottage in need of some updating and attention.Fabulous location and beautiful views.House had a deck Hot tub we did not use after being told by the Hot tub maintenance man it was filthy..Furniture,window blinds,in need of replacement.Dated and dirty.In-operative coffee maker which was replaced quickly by property management. Its a great space, great location.However a rental property that needs some attention and updating especially for the price.

My sisters and I take one trip together yearly, and this year selected Cannon Beach and your wonderful home. It was really perfect--the views are amazing, the beach is just a few steps away. The photos on the web site truly are representative of the beach cottage.
The cottage has a well-equipped kitchen, and the bathrooms had plenty of towels. For the money though, I would have liked a more substantial bath soap. We were there for 5 days and ran out. Shampoo and conditioner should also be included, as well as firewood for one night. I can see purchasing our own after that.
We all had a great time and would highly recommend this property! -

We enjoyed our stay immensely. Located on the water, with a hot tub on the deck... clear view of Haystack, and a short walk into town. The house is cheerful and very nice. You'll be happy you stayed here!

This is an expensive rental, probably because of the location. It is located on the ocean and the view is beautiful. But it is a mile walk to town or to the closest restaurant. Although we had asked for early check-in, it was denied "due to time needed for cleaning" But we were shocked at the low level of cleanliness. It appeared that only superficial cleaning, such as making the beds - had been done before our arrival. Some dishes were dirty and smeared, there was dust and hair on the floor, and the hot-tub had mysterious debris floating in it. The neighbor came over early in the evening and asked us to turn out the deck light, which prevented us from using the hot-tub in the evening. The bedrooms are tiny, there is barely enough room for a suitcase. There is no shower in the upstairs bathroom, and the fan in the downstairs shower fell on our head! There is a wood stove, but no wood. With updating, cleaning and maintenance, this rental could almost be worth what they charged. The property managers did reimburse us for the cleaning fee and the hot-tub cleaning fee, but our refund was less than the cost of one night's stay. Unless the standards of cleanliness and customer service improve, we will not be recommending Standing Stones to any of our friends.

Standing Stones is about a mile into town, or a 15-20 minute beach walk. The Warren House Pub and Mo's are both located about 1/4 mile from the home, as well as small grocery store and a bakery. As for the cleaning the - guest was refunded her cleaning fee as well as the hot tub fee. As for the wood, it is up to each owner of the homes should they wish to supply wood, unfortunately this is a owner that does supply wood. The store that is just 1/4 mile does have wood available. The fan in the bathroom has been repaired. This is a older home that has been featured in the Sunset Magazine as well as a Oregon based magazine and on the Cannon Beach Cottage Tours. The bedrooms may be small because this is an older home and part of it's charm. Cannon Beach Vacation Rentals went above and beyond for this guest. In the end we did what we thought was right with the reimbursement of cleaning and hot tub fees. This is one of our most popular homes and is consistently booked.

We had a blast! View was amazing, location and hot tub was an extra bonus. House was very cute and clean and very stylish. We fully enjoyed our time at cannon beach. Outdoor yard were perfect for the kids top play. We had a great time and will come back again. Heads up though washer and Dryer were a bit noisy to run. Tried to do evening wash, well that didn't work out quite well. Loud and disruptive. Other than that we had a great time!!

This house was absolutely beautiful and the perfect place to spend the weekend with my friends. We couldn't have found a more perfect house to enjoy each others company and the beautiful view of Cannon Beach and Haystack Rock.

Location, location, location. The house decor is great, the location is even better, with a nice yard for croquet and right on the beach (with access!). All the amenities you need to live for a week or more, including wireless internet and the hottub! My brother and his family joined my family there for a great Goonie reunion...

Unbelievable location, especially if you like to get in the water or play in the sand. The hot tub on the deck is the ultimate way to end a beautiful summer day in Cannon Beach. The house is immaculate, the service is top-notch. You cannot go wrong with this combination. We have stayed in many houses and other locations in Cannon Beach, this one is the absolute best.

Standing Stones was perfect for our family. We live in Boston ma and have stayed in Cannon Beach many times at hotels. This house is not only beautifully decorated but the location is unbelievable. Nothing blocked our view of the sand, ocean, Haystack Rock and the evening sunsets. Our only disappointment is that it is not available to us next summer in July or august. We onlly hope we can find something as perfect.

As a family we travel a lot and stay in beautiful places. We own a home in Cabo, Mexico and know about what goes into preparing a home for rental. For the price we paid for the one week at Standing Stones, we thought the home should have been in better condition. It was decorated tastefully and in keeping with the seaside decor which we appreciated. A few things were quite dirty and I ended up cleaning: floors (especially bathrooms, lots of dust and hair), cupboards in kitchen, sofa slipcovers needed washing. The bbq was very dirty and there was no wire brush to clean it. The house exterior needed some tuning up, painting, deck stained.
These are just a few minor details that could be easily fixed. We hope you take these comments into consideration as we really enjoyed our time and would love to return! I biked around all the neighborhoods nearby and in my opinion this cottage was superior in location, view, yard, house layout and decor! We love Cannon Beach!

This was our 2nd stay at Standing Stones. We absolutely love the place. My disappointment was with management. We had an issue with the hot tub which the manager immediately blamed on us. After talking with their hot tub expert it didn't take long to realize he was no evpert. He told me the readings were even higher than they should...being a hot tub owner i knew this was wrong. He even went so far as to tell me the reason it could have been cloudy is because the management may have used it before i arrived! I could continue, but, would i return? Yes. Would i recomend to friends? Yes but everyone should be ready to deal with a very unprofessional management team.

The check in was perfect-went well-The house was immaculate and it's a darling house, decorated totally to suit our taste. The location was Perfect. We walked the Beach to town and the road back every morn. We played card games, watched a movie at night, had indoor and outdoor beach fires with smores and all. We prayed every night and the bedding was delightful and it worked perfect for Grandma, son and d-i-l and kiddies--10 and 12.Everything is there. Washer. dryer, iron, vacuum. It was very, very relaxing, but went too fast. The weather was the only somewhat negative, but we made it positve. It's Oregon and we know. Thank you so very much. We hope we can stay with you again next year..It was a delightful vacation. Sincerely, Our family

Our extended family spent a wonderful short week at Standing Stones after our daughter found it via the internet from her home in Greece. She sent me the link with her plea, "Can we please stay here?" It was perfect for her homecoming trip! The home was completely comfortable and very well appointed, including having an espresso machine.
We will certainly consider staying there again. My suggestion for next time is to please turn on the heat before our arrival. It took quite awhile to warm up the cottage. We enjoyed the view and cups of espresso while we waited to warm up, but still...
