I hope the property owner knows how lucky/smart he is to use Cbvr as the agent for this property! From my first inguiry to the return of our keys, the staff treated us like old and valued friends. There were several small inconveniences that they treated as their highest priority in order to make our stay a successful experience. And we loved the "welcome to Cannon Beach" gift of thermal bag, coffee mugs and locally roasted coffee.
The home lacks an oven, washer and dryer which might be important to families staying longer than we did. And the microwave turntable doesn't work which makes a bit of noise but it cooks and the gas grill was as good as ours for the steak and chicken we prepared.
There are 3 generously sized bedrooms and all the baths are well stocked with linens. But I wish there were more room in the kitchen for prep. Stocked with plenty of dishes, glassware and utensils. The drawers are a bit of a jumble so the sharp knives could be a problem.
The home is across Hemlock from Mo's which is very convenient when you arrive tired and hungry. We think it was about 1 mile from Haystack Rock but the walk on the beach helped us use all the extra calories we indulged in. And we all loved our lunch at Sweet Basil's, downtown.
We all would have been much happier if there had been a simpler fix for the interuption in wifi service than waiting for a technician to come out and the land line never did get fixed while we were there ... but that's why we have cell phones, right!?!
Cannon Beach was an exceptional location, enhanced by incredible service from Cbvr staff. We're already planning our next trip! -

We spent a week at the Tolovana Sands 5 during a choral conference in Cannon Beach. It was perfect for our needs. Three bedrooms and three baths...everyone had their own space! Just a block from the beach, and very quiet. The 2 Master Bedroom suites are huge, and each bedroom had essentially its own entrance. We would definitely love to stay here again.

We had hoped our rental was on the same side as the beach but it was not. However, it is such a short walk to the beach, it was just fine for us. The rooms were large and the place very clean. It would have been nice to have access to laundry facilites - which they spoke about, but we never found. All in all, it was great and we would definitely go back again.

The condo was a great place to stay. We utilized most of the ammentities offered. Lots of space and easy to access. The individual bathrooms were clean and nive to have. If I had to make an improvement, they would be the condition of the carpet and the grill was a little temperamental. All and all, this is a great place to stay.

Tolovana 5 is a beautiful, clean and well appointed condo with very tasteful decor and perfect for a family gathering, The bedrooms and bathrooms are very spacious. The kitchen is a bit tight and cooking for 4 a bit of a challenge, but we did just fine. In all, it is a most comfortable and convenient condo and we will undoubtedly come again.

This would have been ideal if we had had a blanket for our bed. The comforter was much to heavy and warm, and a tiny fleece blanket found in a drawer was dirty and too small

We stayed in Tolovana 2 last year and enjoyed our stay so much that it was an easy decision to come back this year and rent a Tolovana condo. We enjoyed the space that Tolovana 5 had to offer and that each room had it's access to it's own bathroom was great too. The place is well kept, bright and surrounded by lovely trees. The only downfall is the highway that runs right behind. Without a fan running all night it is quite loud when trucks and semi's drive by.
It is in a great location with easy access to the beach which was perfect with having 3 boys and a dog!!
We love Cannon Beach and will be back and try to rent a Tolovana condo again! -

Left on 07/12/2010 for a stay in June 2010
This townhouse is very comfortable and easily accommodated our family and one extra child. We all had more than enough room. The decor was excellent and the home was well appointed.
My biggest beef with the place was the tiny kitchen which was squashed into a corner. It was very difficult for more than one person to cook/clean.
In general, the value for the cost was very good at this place. I would recommend it to someone that wasn't interested in cooking very often. -

It only lacked a stove; otherwise, it couldn't be better. It is located at the quiet end of Cannon Beach, which is a 2-3 minute walk away. Nice decor, large rooms.

Richland, WAThanksgiving house
Left on 12/12/2008 for a stay in November 2008
We very much enjoyed our stay at Tolovana Sands #5 over the Thanksgiving weekend. Every year for the past 32 years we have had a group that meets at Cannon Beach. This year there were over 65. It is now 4 generations. Many of the group have moved as far away as Washington, D.C., Tennessee, Texas, Arizona, California and Montana and wouldn't miss it for anything.
The description above says it sleeps 8, but we were told it only sleeps 6. We had 3 couples staying in this unit and it worked out perfect with 3 bedrooms and 3 bathrooms. Two of the bedrooms are huge with fireplaces, bathrooms, and TV. The downside is that the common space or living room/kitchen is small with not much seating, except dining chairs, for that many people. There was a couch and one large easy chair. It's too bad that some of the bedroom space was not used in this area. The other downside is that there is no oven, but we managed just fine. There seemed to be plenty of dishes and cookware, although the cookwear wasn't great and the knives were terrible. The place is also short on storage for food. We had to just leave it in boxes and set it on the floor behind the dining table. Another unit had a pantry cabinet built in beside the kitchen which would be nice. I guess there was a hair dryer in one bathroom, but not the others. They do not provide bathroom amenities except a couple tiny bars of soap.
It is a nice place and not far from the beach. Even though it is right on the highway, we did not hear any road noise. We would stay again. This is the first year we have stayed in these units, but in the past we have stayed in others nearby. These units were well kept and clean which is a problem we have had with others in the past. It worked well for 6 adults. -

West Linn, ORSuper worthwhile weekend stay
Left on 12/09/2008 for a stay in November 2008
Super stay, definitely got our moneys worth. Condo has upstairs
bedroom and sitting area with kitchen. Note no ESPN up there and
no oven. The oven we really didn't need. Two stayed upstairs,
could've fit one or two more on the hide-away bed in the sitting
area. Very cozy, nice gas fireplace.
Downstairs is huge bedroom/sitting area with gas fireplace. Then
also another good sized bedroom. All very comfy.
All rooms with their own full bathroom.
Good quick walk to the beach, several of us had a nice walk to
downtown CB on Saturday morning, though it took about 30
minutes or so it was very nice to do.
And as always - CBVR is always great to work with, as I have done
many times.
Enjoy if you're at the same place! -

The condo had nice bedrooms, two of them large and light. The living/dining room space was a bit cramped, considering how many people the place sleeps (at least 6.) The biggest problem, though, was the ill-equipped kitchenette. We were planning to cook all our meals, but didn't know there was no oven and very few good pans. So just be sure to plan stovetop meals.

Family Reunion - OR, WA, ID, FLComfortable, Adequate for our needs
Left on 12/09/2008 for a stay in July 2008
We enjoyed our stay. It was nice to have enough bathrooms to accommodate our teenagers. We find Cannon Beach is not as convenient because of limited rental homes that will accommodate approx. 15 people. This forces us to go back to Lincoln City where there are many 5 bedroom homes - you just have to get ahead of the game to get them reserved for the 4th of July holiday. Cannon Beach needs to work on trying to get rental properties where a Family Reunion can be held within the same four walls.

Road Trip 08
Western WashingtonGreat for a weekend with 6 adults
Left on 12/09/2008 for a stay in April 2008
My husband and I, and 4 friends took a "road trip" down the Oregon Coast and stayed at this condo. It is very spacious, cozy and has a fully loaded kitchen.
The location was great. You could walk to the beach, or restaurant, Cannnon Beach was only minutes away, and Seaside was about another 10 minute drive.
The rooms were all nice, but only 2 of them had TVs in them. It would have been nice if all the rooms had been equally equipped.
Lots of stairs, so probably not a great location for older folks or families with babies.
Only complaint, carpets needed cleaning. It was the first thing we noticed when we entered the building.
We'll definately rent this on our next road trip to Oregon.

Left on 12/09/2008 for a stay in May 2008
We stayed here with a two other couples for my birthday and we had a
great time in the area. There were a couple of issues with the house that
were unexpected. It was extremely hot that weekend and there was no air
conditioning or fans to cool off with, it was very miserable trying to sleep.
There was also not enough seating for six people to sit, unless you wanted
to sit at the kitchen table the whole rme, which we had to do. The condo is in
an excellent location and there were enough bathrooms for all of us to have
our own, but I think next time we will rent a house. -

We had a very nice time staying here. While it wasn't right on the beach, it worked well with all the activities we were involved in during our stay. It is also rather close to the Hwy, but we didn't really notice much noise. Very roomy and clean.
