Life’s most definitely a day at the beach when you’re set up in your own private bed-and-breakfast! This gracious and comfortable four-bedroom home may not come with its own live-in staff, but a chef’s kitchen, sweeping ocean views, and plenty of additional amenities render this former B&B; the perfect getaway spot for a large group in need of plenty of pampering.
Located in a quiet enclave of southern Cannon Beach, Tyee House offers cozy luxury in a setting spacious enough to comfortably accommodate a crowd. Two of the home’s four master suites have their own private entrances, allowing guests to come and go at... their leisure, making this a great choice for that multi-generational family-and-friends getaway. Hickory flooring runs throughout the upstairs level, which offers endless ways to unwind. Relax in front of a 47-inch flat-screen TV, or browse the shelves of a built-in, wraparound bookcase for the perfect beach read and then cuddle up next to a fire: the living room and two of the master suites feature remote-control gas fireplaces.
Nautical touches and an array of locally purchased art create a mood that is undeniably Cannon Beach, while recent remodels throughout the home ensure your stay is as comfortable as it is rejuvenating. There’s plenty more to enjoy right outside. Catch a sunrise from the east-facing deck (one of four) while sipping a hot drink brewed straight from the kitchen’s espresso maker, or lose yourself in the home’s fantastic gardens, where local winged residents often flock and an abundance of fresh herbs are yours for the picking. Then head down two the beach – mere steps away – it’s what you came here for, after all.
Come evening time, the cook of the family will be in his or her element in the home’s gourmet kitchen, which features a commercial-grade gas stove, an electric cook-top with griddle and plenty of other professional-grade equipment. Close out the day with a long, leisurely meal in the outdoor dining area and raise a toast to an unforgettable Cannon Beach vacation.
Very comfortable beach house with a 'knoc-your-socks-off' kitche

Great rental that serves a large family well. Nice view of the ocean, and an easy walk to the beach. the kitchen was extremely well provisioned, and the living space and deck were very comfortable. Location, some distance from the Cannon Beach shopping was just what we wanted to have a relaxing and pleasant week with the family and the beach. Rental office provided good service and was friendly.

The house was really beautiful, and it would work especially well for a larger group than ours (2 adults and a dog.) The expenses for 2 people using only one bedroom were high, but I think it's an awesome value for a very nice 4 bedroom house if you're coming with a larger group.
If you're bringing a dog or someone at risk of falling, the wood floors are very slippery, and there is no traction control in the long hallway or stairs, so I wouldn't recommend it for seniors with knee issues or concerns with falling. All of the bedrooms are nice, as are the furnishings.
The bathrooms are small, and the only one with a tub (a very shallow one) was the one off the office. I would have liked the ability to take a bath in a regular sized tub versus showering in the small bathrooms.
Views from the living room and kitchen are pretty good (you can see the ocean over the tops of houses,) but there are no views from any of the bedrooms. We don't cook on vacation, but the kitchen was much better appointed than the ones I've seen in other rentals, so if you like to cook I think you'll love it!
This didn't bother me, but my husband was frustrated with the DVD player and the speakers to the sound system were blown.
Overall, if you're bringing larger group needing 3 or more separate bedrooms, it's a good value and a beautiful house. I only say" probably" to recommending it to my friends as most of my friends don't have kids, so they'd be in the same situation my husband and I were.

This is a wonderful house to stay in as it was previously a bed and breakfast so it is has a true gourmet kitchen with every pot and pan you could need.
The bedrooms are great with fireplaces and separate bathrooms.
Plus multiple decks.

Tyee House was rented for a gathering of family and friends for a major birthday celebration in Cannon Beach. Family members were very happily accomodated in the house since we each had our own bedroom and bath. The gas fireplaces in the 2 downstairs bedrooms allowed the Southern brothers to "crank up the heat" for their comfort without driving the rest of us out! They easily escaped the upstairs crowd for aftenoon naps!
The dining room, living room and kitchen full views of the ocean and Haystack Rock were better than expected--especially the ocean. We enjoyed the quiet, walking neighborhood that is south of downtown Cannon Beach which met our desires for a "quiet get away". The beach was less than two blocks and town was a few minutes drive. Living and dining rooms were spacious for the birthday dinner party and the well equipped kitchen was enjoyed by the chefs and bakers in the group since we only ate out one night. Early risers enjoyed breakfast with the living room fireplace going.
This was definitely not a small "cottage". It was spacious and filled with traditional quality furnishings and art. The frustrated architect in me especially enjoyed the wood ceiling of the living/dining room--it reminded me of a solidly built ship especially with the brass guages and instruments on the front wall.
We would definitely like to return for future gatherings. Key pick up and drop off were quick and easy. There was ample off-street parking.

Every time I visit Cannon Beach I'm reminded of how awe struck I was by the North Oregon Coast when I first visited there over 30 years ago. Being able to stay at Tyee House, (absolutely the most comfortable and well appointed home I've had the pleasure of renting), complements the rejuvenating and refreshing experience that draws me back year after year. Great thanks to Linda Beck-Sweeney and Cannon Beach Vacation Rentals for their fine service and the use of this wonderful home.

I have always loved the North Oregon Coast. Despite the season, there is no prettier or soulful place on earth. However, my last trip was especially wonderful. I atayed at the Tyee House, which I arranged through Cannon Beach Vacation Rentals. I felt as though I were in my own home, different furniture and magically transported to the Coast, but with a familiar sense of warmth and comfort.
I can recommend, without hesitation, Cannon Beach Vacation Rentals. Linda and her friendly troupe can help make a visit to the Coast a truly transforming experience.
