Terre Haute, INAmazing adventure Outside asheville
Left on 01/17/2012 for a stay in November 2011
My Husband and I celebrated our 5 year wedding anniversary in this cute cabin outside asheville and Waynesville. We loved the views and the sounds of creek below. We especially enjoyed the fact that our dogs could come on vacation with us. Additionally, the interior of the cabin was not only quaint and rustic, it was clean and full of the amenities needed for the perfect cozy vacation- fireplace, movies, games and more.
We absolutely loved this cabin and will definitely come back again!

Clean, cozy and has everything anyone would need. The fireplace is amazingly efficient and warm, and the fire pit outside is wonderful for story-telling and marshmallow-roasting. Great location, too - close to the Blueridge Parkway and wonderful hiking trails. We'll be back!

Warner Robins, GAPeaceful scenic relaxation...

My husband, two teenage daughters and I have stayed at this vacation home on several different occasions. I truly have nothing but good to say about this vacation home.
The accommodations are cozy and immediately feels like a second home when you arrive. It is clean, well decorated and has lots of room. The views from the home are breathtaking and have always served to provide a peaceful environment for us. It is a perfect place to snuggle up with a hot cocoa, coffee and either a good book or great company. There is also an outdoor campfire area on the property which has always been fun for us. My girls have enjoyed the activity barn as well as the river located just minutes from our front door which is perfect for tubing.
In addition to what the home and it's surroundings have to provide, the location is really perfect. We were always just a short drive to a variety of activities. There were many parks with trails to hike, rivers to enjoy, and many fun stores to shop in the nearby town of Waynesville. The town has their own festivals which we have, on occasion, enjoyed the opportunity to participate.
These are just some of the reasons why we love this rental vacation home. We give it an excellent rating as it is well deserving of such a score! -

My wife and I had one of the most refreshing times away in years at this wonderful and homey cabin in the heart of the Pisgah Mountains of North Carolina. It was super clean, well equipped and well located. We loved the proximity to Waynesville with its shops and restaurants and the access to the Blue Ridge Parkway and countless hiking trails and spectacular waterfalls. This property is great value for money and my wife and I would not hesitate to return to this mountain retreat.

Virginia Beach, VirginiaGreat place for a family vacation!
Left on 08/19/2011 for a stay in August 2011
My immediate and extended family have been coming to this property for years. We have known it as "Rivermont" and rent several of the houses on the property. My husband, children and I have stayed at Summerhouse/Alcove several times and love it. The house is spacious, well lit and has plenty of room for everyone. The appliances all work, the refrigerator is cold, the freezer freezes, the coffee maker works. There are plenty of pots/pans/plates and silverware. The a/C is cold, but we turn it off and open all of the windows. The bathrooms have toilet paper and soap when you arrive. We have had to ask the manager, Chrissy, for more but that is never a problem. She and her husband have a house on the property and are very kind.
The cabin is a delight outside as well. We love the porch and it's view of the mountains. It is wonderful place to have your morning coffee! There is also a picnic table and a fire ring, so a cookout and smores are easily enjoyed! It's a short walk down hill to the river where we have spent many hours tubing and lazing around. It's a very safe, secure area and we leave our chairs and inner tubes down there so we don't have to carry them back up hill at the end of the day. There is a big flat field near the river, useful for family games of kickball, volley ball or a game of tag. Our off the property trips have included kayaking with Tuckaseegee River Outfitters, the Museum of the Cherokee, visiting the lovely town of Waynesville, trips to Sliding Rock and the Cradle of Forestry Museum, the Biltmore Estate in asheville, hiking along the Blue Ridge Parkway trails, and fishing in all of the various streams nearby. We always have a restful, yet invigorating vacation there.
