We drove from Maine and had to plow our driveway to get out, so we were really ready for a nice vacation. The moment we walked into the house, we fell in love with it. It had everything you could ever want or need while on vacation. Spent a great deal of time in and around the pool area - beautiful. On our daily walk throughout the neighborhood, we found several "burrowing owl" nests and watched the little baby owls change every day. Great experience. Hope to return to this house in 2014. Lots of nice restaurants and tourist attractions nearby.

This home was exactly as it appears in the pictures. The house was spotless. We have stayed in vacation rentals in Europe and none of them were as welcoming as this one was. It was decorated as if the owners had just stepped out and would be back soon. The temperature was in the high 80s low 90s for both weeks of our stay and no rain! Even though it was hot,the air conditioning in the house worked wonderfully and the pool was amazing. Everything we needed was available from dishes to beach towels to pool toys to coolers. There are lots of books to read and it was so nice to be able to call home to Canada to check in with everyone and make them jealous!! The basket of information was helpful for planning things to do. The binder of instructions and the labels on all of the light switches were very helpful in how to operate the house. The neighborhood was quiet. We loved Cape Coral and hope to return again some day. When we do, we will not hesitate to rent this house again. We have not stopped talking about our "home away from home" to all of our family and friends.

We had a wonderful Christmas holiday in Bob & Elayne's home; everything was beyond our expectations. Spacious, clean, and well-equipped. The pool, lanai, and canal dock were the highlight of our stay there. House was laid out perfectly for relaxation and entertainment; our family of 6 had lots of room. Watched schools of fish swim by our dock every morning. Neighbourhood was beautiful and a great place to walk or cycle. Close to shopping and restaurants. Ventured out to Sanibel Island, a short drive away for a day at the beach on the Gulf. We will definitely come back for another visit.

House description and pictures were spot on, everything was as promised, beautiful home in a great neighborhood. Close to restaurants and activities, we were never bored or in the car long. Beautiful pool and screened lanai, and home funishings. Owner was great to work with and always available by phone. We are looking forward to our next stay at this vacation home and will definitely be back.

Being from the Midwest, we thoroughly enjoyed the spacious and comfy lanai and the beautiful pool, all under one screened-in area, overlooking the canal. The inside had very comfortable furniture and beds and was extremely clean! {Thank you, Julie!} We couldn't have asked for more! Bob and Elayne, thank you for opening your home as a vacation rental! We found grocery stores and restaurants, recommended by Julie along with directions, to be very conveniently located. We will definitely come to you again and will recommend your property to friends.

We have stayed at the property twice and can highly recommend the vacation home. It has a great fenced in pool and we especially loved to grill and eat outdoors. It is well looked after and very spacious. A great place to spend your Florida vacation.

This house is very well laid out for a vacation rental. All areas of the house center around the pool. The extended outside living space around the pool was awesome. We didn't rent a boat and use the canal but just sitting by the pool and listening to the fish jump in the canal every morning was a delight. Going to the west coast in June isn't necessarily the best time to go to Florida but we were certainly grateful for this house and it's amenities. Very reasonable priced as well. Super clean and every detail has been thought out for the vacationer. We will be back!

We have visited many places in the southern climate and stayed at motels, trailers, & resorts. This was our first house. The house was perfect, the pool was perfect, the location was perfect. We felt so at peace there that we didn't want to leave even for grocery shopping. We have decided that we want to retire close to there. We felt so strongly about it that we roused ourselves long enough to go and look at a couple places that were for sale. We discussed while we were there, (floating around in the pool), and on the way home, the goals we have to set toward that end.
We have since decided that the feelings of peace we felt while there are what we want when we retire. The home seemed to us to be so attached to nature, the way the sliding doors open all the way & disappear into the walls, it really connected the inside with the outside. The breeze was most phenomenal, the way it swirled around the house all the time. We loved the view from the back of the house; the palm trees, the pool water followed by the canal water, the high ceilings, the fans, the quietness of the neighborhood. Also, the house has been made very comfortable, the furniture they have couldn't have suited us any better! There was nothing more we could have asked for.
So, the week we spent at this house has given us a clear picture of what we want for the rest of our lives, that should say it all.
It was always a pleasure dealing with Bob & Elayne and we hope to deal with them again.
4/27/2011: We've stayed at this house several more times, took our 2 grandchildren for 2 weeks. Bob's very helpful w/any problems like getting the internet to work with our computer or making the pool water warmer. That's the only "problems" we've ever had. Our vacations are always wonderful here, the house is equipped with everything we need and much more. The location is perfect, the ocean breeze is perfect...gosh, I'm ready to go again just thinking about it! Barb -

The photographs don't do this villa justice. It is extremely roomy and very comfortable. In fact, after a couple of nights we stated thinking it was our own villa, as it was so much a home from home.
It's in a very convenient and quiet location in an upmarket part of the Cape. The pool area was the best we've ever had, and we've been holidaying in the us for ten years. The outside was beautifully furnished, the south facing pool was the the perfect setting for relaxing in the Florida sun.
You won't be disappointed with this villa. -

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay in Cape Coral. The house was wonderful and I only wished it had been warmer to use the pool. We had 3 "adult" children with us (ages 18 - 23) and the set up was perfect. The master bedroom is at one end of the house and the other two bedrooms and TV room at the other. The kids never disturbed us! My son went fishing off the dock and caugh a rather big fish that we cooked up and ate. I would love to stay there in the summer - maybe next time!

Centrally located close to shopping, restaurants and the beach, Abbie's Dream is nothing less. We spent every minute in the solar heated pool, morning, noon and night. The short boat ride through the canals to access the bay is always a visual treat. We're all looking forward to next year.
