      Wonderful! Comfortable! Convenient! Homey! Memorable!

Left on 06/28/2012 for a stay in June 2012

The one-bedroom apartment has all the comfort and convenience of home. It is located in a lovely area of the Maine coast with a small sandy beach nearby and the beauty of Fort Williams Park a short walk away.
It is a short, easy trip into downtown Portland with its restaurants, shopping, and cultural and scenic places. More casual (cheaper) shopping and eateries are closer in Cape Elizabeth or South Portland.

Lesley makes one welcome in a very warm and friendly manner. She is always available if you need her but not intrusive if you want more solitude.
      I will Defintely come back!

My mom and I stayed here on the last leg of our three state New England trip. Lesely is such a sweetheart, even bringing us some cookies from australia! The cottage was very clean, nicely decorated, and in a great location. We were able to get to the Portland headlight, just a few minute walk away, for sunrise both mornings. It was stunning! This would be a great place for families, with ample space and two bathrooms. The kitchen was large enough for us to cook a meal. Everything was perfect! Thanks Lesley for a great stay!

This was so outstading a place to stay. I can not begin to say how wonderful it was.
Lesley was a wonderful person. She has thought of everything. There is nothing she has not thought of.
It is also right around the cornor from the Portland Lighthouse. Wonderful stay.
      Thank you Lesley.
Try the bakery up the street mmm. Also ther is a Trader Joe's & Whole foods market. The wine is cheaper at Trader Joe's but the food is great at both places. The Harbor Market in Portland has some of the freshest seafood. & good prices on the seafood.

We stayed in the one bedroom cottage for 6 nights. We called Lesley the owner to ask if we could come a day earlier than we originaly booked and she had no problem with that. Thank you Lesley!
The cottage is wonderful, everything you need is there and the bed is very comfortable. It was nice to be able to make a meal in the well equiped kitchen.
It is very easy to make interesting daytrips from Cape Elizabeth without having to drive too far. And the Ft Williams State Park is within walking distance.
There are lots of restaurants to choose from not more than 20 minutes away. We hope to stay here again in the future.

The One Bedroom Cottage Fort William Park, in walking distance....

As a photographer I wanted a home atmosphere near Portland Head Light and Fort Williams Park. I could easily walk the short distance before sunrise and experience the incredible beauty of the lighthouse at first light.
Lesley was a gracious host and the house suited my needs perfectly.

A great home away from home at a lovely beach

Left on 09/20/2011 for a stay in July 2011

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at this apartment. It was perfect for us with one young child, would be tight with more children. The beach access was so close and the private beach was just delightful. Leslie was so hospitable and helpful, even bringing us fresh fruit she had picked earlier that day. Easy access to Portland. Great for a quiet relaxing week away.

      Wonderful Cape Elizabeth, Maine vacation

Left on 09/11/2011 for a stay in August 2011

Lesley is the perfect hostess. She is warm and friendly and also greatly respects your privacy. The cottage had every convenience one would need, even including some food. She has thought of everything. Clean, comfortable and we had the bonus of being able to wake with the smell of the ocean breezes and fall asleep to them at night. The lighthouse fog horn was a welcome surprise and it didn't even keep us awake. We had beautiful weather the entire week.

Lesley was so kind and gracious and even helped my husband find my lost glasses at the nearby beach. She provides so much more then a rental. She gives of herself and her friendship and was a real joy to meet. Thank you Lesley for a wonderful vacation in Maine.

Our daughter and children lives nearby in Westbrook and Lesley welcomed them and the children as well. Just such a nice lady who provides a safe, secure, comfortable and clean cottage to enjoy. Her book selection is amazing reading.

Although my husband and I stayed in the one bedroom, between guests, we got to take a peek at the two bedroom and it too is just lovely. Such cute coastal decorations! As is expected, it is roomier then the one bedroom but the one bedroom is so cute and cozy, it is perfect for a romantic get away for a couple or ones with 2 small children as the sofa pulls out into a bed.

Can't say enough good things about Lesley and her rentals. Her rate was one of the most reasonable in the coastal area and I looked at and talked to many believe me. Off street parking is a real bonus! As is the Cookie Jar bakery nearby where we got the most delicious Lobster cookies (decorated that way, not made from Lobster) and a Beal's ice cream near by. Cape Elizabeth itself is absolutely charming and near by Portland Head Light is so interesting. We had a picnic there one evening as it's so close to the cottages. They are listed as apartments but to us it was a coastal cottage. Lesley, thanks again!

I have stayed for 3nights at the 2 bedroom cottage...I wish I have stayed a full week. The place is so charming it has a home feeling, it is clean and has everything you need. Lesley is such a sweetheart,I couldn't of ask for a better person to deal with or place to stay.I will definitely stay again and recommend her place to others. You have access to a private beach which is only a 2min walk. The people you meet there are also friendly. You are like 10min by car to Portland city/pier right over the bridge and 5min up the road to the lighthouse I truly had a wonderful time I cant wait to go again. Thanks again Lesley for the great memories and your warm hospitality you are a wonderful person Mary O :)

      A Beautiful, Relaxing Stay!

Left on 07/14/2011 for a stay in July 2011

Lesley's one bedroom cottage made for a perfect getaway in an ideal location. We would highly recommend Lesley and her cottages to anyone--families, couples, etc.--who enjoy both quiet relaxation and access to an exciting city.

First off, Lesley herself was terrific to deal with--very accomodating, communicative leading up to the visit, and full of suggestions for the area once we arrived.

With access to a private beach just a two minute walk away, and a great state park a few miles down the road, it's easy to relax. The cottage had all the trappings of home (and as a far bigger place than our tiny apartment in NYC, a step up for us!) and close to a grocery store to cook on your own. The cottage is very clean and full of supplies.

The location, on a quiet residential street, is also just minutes (a 10 minute drive, tops) into Portland. Lots to see and do in the city--great restaurants, bars, shopping, etc. The cottage is stocked with guides to local sites and activities, and Lesley is more than happy to offer suggestions as well.

In short, I would highly recommend Lesley's place for a quick weekend getaway (we stayed for a long July 4th weekend) or a longer, week or two stay. I feel lucky that we stumbled across this place and know we'll be back. Enjoy!

Beautiful area, Simple Housing. Great Hotel alternative.

Left on 11/04/2010 for a stay in October 2010

I stayed here while attending a week-long class in Portland. It was nice to be out of the city and not dealing with a hotel, able to make some of my own meals, have wireless access, and feel a bit at home. I strolled two minutes to the sandy, lovely private beach (too cold for swimming in Oct.!) and up to the lighthouse in the mornings before setting off to Portland (15 mins). It was a lovely way to start the day.

The apartment looks like a tiny cottage close to the road (steady passing car noises but not disruptive -- and I'm noise sensitive), but is technically a two room rental attached on the back to other apartments. You might never even notice it is attached. I was not there 9-5, but while there only heard other tenants once, and it was brief and non intrusive. My only complaint was that it smelled really off when I arrived, but a bit of fresh air and candle burning helped. Perhaps the owner had found something unexpected to clean before I arrived, I didn't inquire and could have.

The road and attached building qualities don't give it the seaside charm it might have otherwise, but the price and location are fantastic for an efficiency. It has beach access across the road and down a very short pleasant neighborhood walk. The owner was highly responsive, and even sent a video walkthrough of the two rooms and outside via email, as well as left milk and eggs and lots of basics in the place. It's perfect if you're looking for a place to mainly crash at night in the off seasons, and I imagine lovely for a bit more in the summer though the road might be a bit busier? The bed was very comfortable.

I highly recommend the bagels at Scratch Baking Company nearby.

Left on 09/23/2010 for a stay in September 2010

My husband and I 100% enjoyed our stay in Lesley's home. The location was even better then we were anticipating. It was literally a 5 min walk to the Portland Headlight, a 7 min drive to Old Port in Portland, and a 2 min walk to a private beach oasis. Lesley is a very warm and hospital lady with a lovely beachy home in Cape Elizabeth. We would love to stay again next year if it is available.

A great cottage in a great location near Portland, Maine

Left on 09/21/2010 for a stay in September 2010

I stayed in the cottage for a week just after Labor Day. It's a nice, clean space - very comfortable. As a solo traveler, I appreciated being able to make breakfast and dinner there, and do road day trips having lunch out. The cottage is located very conveniently near a couple of wonderful lighthouses and is easily accessible to Portland. Leslie was communicative and accommodating. I definitely would recommend the cottage, and hope to visit again.

This property was great for a getaway for my friend and me. It's a minute away from the beach, 10 minutes from Portland, and a short drive from dozens of small, quintessentially Maine eateries, scenic views, walks, and experiences. I highly recommend.
