Love Palm Island. Ultimate in relaxation and downtime. Only drawbacks were dirty plates/silverware in the unit and quality of food at the main restaurant (this really should be looked at closely as it is the only option). All else, including staff from Coconuts to housekeeping excellent. We have already booked next year.

We have been visiting palm island for 18 yrs. And overall has been great. Although, this visit was a little disappointing as the bed in unit was very uncomfortable, the tv in master br reception was very bad and there was an ant problem in kitchen. The unit definitely needs some attention.
I would like to say that Marty at front desk has always been wonderful and always tries to accommodate us with reservations.
Thank you and I hope to hear back from you. -

I was just looking for something unique and not too far from home to spend a little quality time with my kids. We enjoyed it so much we're coming back with friends over the summer. I think if I was looking for more activities I may have been disappointed, but the overall friendliness and ambiance of the island was just what I was looking for. When I come back in the summer we are planning to charter a boat, go to the surrounding islands and explore the area a little more. The rain kept Red Beard away, but my kids are too old for him. I think if there were more adult-like activities it would be beneficial. Maybe even a movie at the pool on a large screen one night, or a planned scavenger hunt instead of on your own. Give the winner a free appetizer at the Rum Runner. Utilize the club house and have BINGO night? Make a bon-fire on the beach and toast s'mores :-) Overall the trip was great, but we're bringing more people with us to make it a little more exciting. See you in August!

If you vacation here make sure you get everything you need prior to taking ferry to island. I believe it's $55 to get back on island. Also make sure your rental has been updated with a new mattress. We rented a 2 bedroom for our anniversary weekend 9-23-25/2011 Ours backs are paying the price. Our villa was over $500.00 for 2 days, and still had ferry issues. I believe they can waive ferry fees !! I also think $50 a day for a golf cart is a bit pricey. The area around our villa needed to have weeds pulled so you can get to the beach. I noticed that the swimming pool area needed to be pressure cleaning it was very dirty. Our villa also had ants in kitchen. ITS TERRIBLE TO THINK THAT THESE OWNERS PAY A MANTINCE FOR THIER PROPERTY. AND ARE BEING GIVING NOTHING IN RETURN !!!

The staff, as always, was wonderful. They let us check-in early and were pleasant our entire stay. The condo, however, was terrible. We thought it had two (2) king beds and only had one. All beds were extremely uncomfortable. The door was jambed when we initially got there and we had to wait. Thankfully, the staff took care of us and got us inside. They also put the two (2) twin beds together for us. The toilet was broken and my son-in-law had to fix it. I would never recommend the condo we stayed in to anyone. In addition to the room, there was little lighting in the jacuzzi/pool area at nigh--though we understand about the turtles, it created a safety hazard for us and we could not use them when we wanted. While the staff was terrific, the accomododations made our stay less enjoyable.

Saint Pete Beach, FLThe only issue we had was that our toilet didn't work and I call

flushed the toilet. So I called the front desk again to cancel the repair. If the toilet had continued to malfunction, who knows when someone would have come to fix it. I cerainly would have expected someone to be there within the first couple hours of reporting it. Our stay was great other than this occurence. The room was beautiful and everyone was very attentive to any other request.

Overall happy with location and unit we stayed in. Was not informed of dredding of beach during our stay which was not ideal. Master bed wasn't comfortable and master toliet not working almost entire trip with multiple attemps to fix. Tried to do a sunset cruise that resort promoted but nobody could get us info day of cruise so we missed it, just passed around. Charming island with tons of potential just not happy with a few things that I should not of dealt with for the price. On the border if we would ever go back

Clearwater, FlNot a good ending to our stay, as it could have been prevented
Left on 06/06/2010 for a stay in May 2010
I know accidents happen but an accident that could of been prevented with a little maintenance on your part is just sad. The tennis court by room 2213 is definitely not kept up. Not only does it have several bad holes, it has not been cleaned in a while with spots of black algae, dirt and slim that are very slippery. People pay a lot of money to come to Palm Island and it is your responsibility to keep it as nice as possible so people will want to return. Our daughter, while playing tennis, did slip on one of the black slippery spots and had to go to the emergency room. This fall ended our enjoyment of the weekend. She is still in a great deal of pain a week after her fall. I sure hope you will clean your tennis courts and take better care of them in the future.

If you like "down time" in a beautiful place, this is it! It's also perfect for the family with children, particularly under 13-the perfect spot for simple pleasures with maximum convenience and appointments. We did one massive shopping at Publix before we came onto the island and fed 9 for a week without ever having to leave-and certainly didn't want to!

Saftey Harbor, FL, United StatesUnit 2213
Left on 08/24/2009 for a stay in August 2009
This unit did have a great view. I was told that it was updated but I we must have different opinions about that. The carpet and bedspreads were gross. The swinging doors to the guest bedroom fell off the hinge 3 times, which my husband fixed. Also, the last couple of days we saw a couple of roaches in the room, so it must have been time to spray. I did mention all of these things at check out. One of the most surprising things was seeing trash all around - on the beach and in the landscaping. The trash can at the entrance to the beach was full for days. It was such a shame to see all that in the beautiful surroundings.

The staff were tremendously helpful from check-in to check-out! The rest/bar was fantastic, little wait and outgoing staff, especially the bartender! He was awesome! I am in the military and no matter where I am stationed, I will make it a point to visit Palm Island yearly!!! My wife who is Japanese and son 12 loved it. A true Island getaway. Dirt paths for running/biking, pools, spa's and the incredible Gulf in your back yard!
