I was very happy to return to Palm Island for much needed R&R.; Special thanks to Marty in the front office for helping me. The condo was clean and comfortable and just a short walk to the beach. Came home with my many seashells from my strolls on the beautiful beach, a nice tan and a refreshed state of mind. I am already planning my next visit.

We have coming for ten years thanks to an introduction by the Lapes. The staff is always very pleasant and this ear Kris was a delight providing good aerobic workouts and very interesting nature walk.

Overall we were happy with our stay at Palm Island Resort. We received a call before our arrival telling us we were being upgrade to a deluxe unit.
The unit 3311 needs maintenance in the bathroom. The linens on the bed are in poor shape. The coverlet has loose nylon strings that get caught on your hands when making the bed. In the kitchen, the utensils were lacking......not enough grilling utensils, bowls, etc.
Woodwork throughout needs scraping and painting as it was blistering.
Would not want to rent this unit in this condition next year.
The food at Rum Bay and service was very good as was the value.
Hopefully, we will return again. -

The only issues I would bring up are:
1. The roads are very dusty when a vehicle passes by.
2. The food at the restaurant is not that great.
Everything else was fine and we enjoyed our trip to PI. -

We only stayed one night but it was nice and easy to do. Checking in and out was a little time consuming. Getting one person thru the process takes sometime so you better hope you aren't the 2nd in line. Need to have the ability to check in early. You can get there in the morning and you won't get into your room until 3 pm. 11 am checkout is too early and you should have a late check out also. Should be able to have resort hold your bags also. Restrurant and bar are awesome. Coconuts breakfast will make you sick. Golf cart rental is iffy. They say you can't take carts off the island but i saw more rental carts off the resort than i saw on it.

Our only concern was that our stay over school vacation week and it was very busy. Next year our reservations are a little earlier so we will avoid the peak busy period, but swe will definitely be back to Palm Island.

We try to get to Palm Island at least twice a year. I always feel like crying when I know I have to leave and go back to crowds and traffic. Rum bay restaurant had great seafood and wonderful service (Debbie and Dustin(or Justin?). Marty at the front desk was very professional despite the fact that she was very busy. Not all units are completely updated, but it's ok, they are spotless and have everything you need. Will be back in a few months!

We live in north port and visited palm island for the first time on 9/10/11 following our wedding reception at the wonderful Levorocks restaurant. We have stayed on the island 3 times for the weekend since September in different villa and have been pleased each time, feeling a million miles away from home. Everyone is kind and helpful. We especially appreciate the fact that when possible, you let us check in early to begin to enjoy our weekend getaway as soon as we get here if the room is eready. Every hour counts when you only have the weekend! We are grateful palm island is so close!

If you are looking for a place to relax and recharge, the Palm Island Resort is it. The staff is great, the grounds are beautiful and serene, the units are very spacious and comfortable. We cannot wait to visit again.

I found this resort through Groupon;I've lived here 22 years and never heard of it so thought we would give it a try. I did research it on the internet prior to booking. This was an awesome experience,great anniversary getaway and would think about returning.That said,I do not feel that some information was explained enough on the website or when I called for information prior to booking.We were aware of the ferry but not aware that we had to leave our vehicle parked in a lot and would need to use a golf cart the entire time. Both of those items were covered in the Groupon price(golf cart/ferry)and was not aware until after the fact that the normal reservation would not have included those in their price. I was shocked. I just think it should have been stressed more when calling for rental information because neither are cheap by any means. If I were to return/recommend this I would certainly make a friend aware;also if I would return again,I would definitely have enough food for my entire stay so I would not have to frequent the ferry because of the price. Again,we loved the resort and everything about it

If you are looking to truly get away from it all and experience serenity and/or romance, Palm Island Resort is an ideal spot! A short weekend there felt as if we'd been gone several days and went a world away - the beaches were lovely & the stars at night were just spectacular! ...while you're there, be sure to get a golf cart to cruise around! I only had two issues with my stay: 1. I did not get sufficient information about the ferry use. I did not know I could take my car on the ferry at no cost so I had to leave it on the mainland and have a bellman pick us up. And 2. when my grandchildren used the kayacs there was no training involved at all. They were given life jackets and told where the kayacs were. The kayacs were in disrepair and they encountered something large int he water and were scared to death and returned after only 15 minutes. There should be some instruction on how to use the kayacs and what they may encounter on their trip. Other than those two items, we thoroughly enjoyed our vacation and will come back and stay a few more days next time. The sunset was incredible.

Terrific beach for shelling and fossils. Sharks teeth are everywhere along with lots of great shells. It doesn't get a lot better than Palm Island. The room was very nice and quite comfortable. It had everything we needed, and the staff was very helpful. The only area for improvement was the seafood in the restaurant. Otherwise the food was fine. We will be back.

We had to move three times due to double booking. Two times the first night and then a third time on the second day. Our final room was on the first floor, we had requested a room on the second floor. Everyone was pleasant, but it reflects very poor planning. A resort at this level really should do better.

ceiling fan on porch did not work, outlets in bathroom did not work.I felt this unit had only a minimum of pots, etc. We have stayed at Palm Island many times and thiis unit had the least.We also got tired of killing palmetto bugs. The staff is wonderful, the unit left a lot to be desired.

Ive stayed there for the past 20+yrs. Its always a pleasure. Shelling was the best ever. The only downs were the cost and cancellation policy. There is no refund if cancelled. It can be used at a later visit. I also miss the long weekends for about $180.00. I understand things go up in price but we used to stay there 2-3 times a year. Now its once every year or two. The price is a bit prohibitive now. Get the price back down some and please change the refund policy.
Still this was a great trip. -

It is a great place to have a family gathering as we have. Also we had our 50th wedding anniversary party there and everthing was taken care of from a dinner to beautiful weather.Have recommended it to many of our friends. As a matter of fact ourselves and two other couple friends also went for an enjoyable weekend. Keep us the cleanliness and the hospitable staff and it will continue to be an excellent vacation away from home. Another reason we like it is it is close to our home in Bradenton but when we get there we feel like we are on a Caribbean island.

We love Palm Island and find very little wrong with it. The reservation process was messed up and I'm still wondering what the final bill will turn out to be on my credit card but I will say that Ann did her best to get it straightened out. The young men in the snack bar were very willing and helpful getting the computer to work and print and the young woman was pleasant but her gum chewing was offputting.
The condos we have been in have always been very clean and well supplied; this one was also. A missing bread board was quickly replaced once housekeeping was told about it. The grounds are amazingly well kept and the beach is a joy. Palm Island does a good job! -
