Punta Gorda, FL, United StatesCold days but wonderful vacation
Left on 01/17/2013 for a stay in January 2013
We really enjoyed the beautiful beachy accommodations. The view was gorgeous, even on our one rainy day. The Gulf is fantastic no matter the weather. We just nestled in for the day. Also played tennis, walked the beach, ate at the resturant, ordered in, and just enjoyed our stay in general. We will be back as soon as time allows. Love Palm Island!!!!!

Our Rental was very nice. Liked the water filter in the kitchen. Was dissappointed there was no dresser space in master bedroom.
We did receive kayaks and bikes as part of our stay. The bikes were in horrible condition and life jackets were dirty.
Overall our stay was very pleasant and we love the location. -

OVERLAND PARK, KS, United StatesOtt Palm Island vacation
Left on 08/03/2012 for a stay in August 2012
We have vacationed at the resort for more than 10 years...this year the customer service was terrible. Starting with the front office, only one man was cordial. The other man (appeared to be the manager) was never helpful, did not smile, generally unfriendly. I let him know the shower head in my villa fell off onto my head leaving a large bruise. I told him I was fine, but it could have really hurt a child...he did not say, Oh I am sorry or anything..he simply said, hmmm we should check on that. This was a common theme across the resturant, coconuts, and the gift shop. The cart driver who has been there 23 yrs was sweet. You do not have enough people working, and most of those you have need, to improve on customer service. If the island was not so beautiful all by itself, we would probably not come back.
I was planning on talking to someone in the real estate office but decided against it given the rudeness of the staff... I realize you probably wont do anything with this feedback, but you should take it to heart, as I never provide negative feedback. I provide praise freely, but wouldn't normally bother.

My family, specially my girls, had a great time. The resort is very relaxing and a great family 's an island, so don't forget to stop at a grocery store and get ALL the things/groceries that you need before getting into the ferry.

We absolutely love this place This was our second stay here and we love the whole atmosphere. When we arrived the villa we were given was in poor shape and needed an updated make over. We contacted the front desk and within 5 minutes they arrived at our door and showed us another villa. This villa was great. The bell staff quick and friendly. We will return every year

Palm Island is an absolutely gorgeous place. The staff is VERY accomodating. The restaurants cuisine is delicious. If I had any negative comment at all, it would be for the Island to offer a full breakfast. Our condo was beautiful and clean. Thank you so much for the great service and beautiful scenery.

We were there for 3 days and the general store and Coconuts wer both closed for 2 days. We were not informed of this before our visit. Very inconvenient. Otherwise, everything was perfect as it has been for the past 23 years we have been visiting Palm Island.

Chattangoo, TNbetter but still room for improvements
Left on 06/17/2011 for a stay in May 2011
the sheets and pillows are really pitiful. the sheets always pop off the mattress during the night and the pillows are extremely flat. as things get worn out, they need to be replaced and not with obviously the cheapest quality. i know these units go thru a lot but some things last longer if they are of better quality and make the stay much nicer. the mattresses are pretty rough also.

sheets are too small for the beds the corners pop off every night, bed pillows are really sad, this is very frustrating. kitchen cabinets need regular repair checks, coffee pot pitiful. staff very friendly and helpful except for one young man who seemed to be always very irritated, reddish hair stocky build, not at all pleasant. really enjoy the "no dogs on the beach" personally wish it were the entire property. rental umbrellas were really bad.

Overall, it's a great place for a vacation. The only problem is with the cleanliness of the beds. My daughter became sick with cough, sneezing and upper respiratory symptoms after sleeping in the second bedroom. I wonder if the sheets are dirty and not washed regularly. Also the comfortors on the twin beds looked positively dirty and soiled. That was my only concern. Otherwise, the condo itself was spotless.

Left on 03/28/2011 for a stay in March 2011
The master bed in unit 3223 was the most uncomfortable bed I have slept in. For the amount of money it was unacceptable. The housekeeping team tried to help out by putting a comforter underneath a sheet but it was little help. In addition, the sheets provided by housekeeping were very old, pilled up, and uncomfortable. I think the rental program needs to address these issues if they expect people like me to spend almost $3,000 on lodging at Palm Island.

Reservations w/ Kelli very helpful. Bobbi quoted us a much higher rate, was not very polite, we had an issue over transportation charges and her general demeanor was inconsiderate. No hot water, was repaired. Water leak into unit below us also. Overheard similar comments about staff from other guests.

This was our second year to Palm Island and we had a wonderful time. It is a great family vacation spot for people with little kids. Our 3-year old and 18-month old were thrilled to play on the beach, the playgroud, cruise in the golf cart, and loved watching the turtles that hang out around the area. If you are looking for shops and restaurants and a Starbucks, this isn't the vacation for you. But if you are hoping for a calm, relaxing, quiet family retreat, then Palm Island is the best vacation around. We'll be back next year!

FYI--We have been coming to Palm Is for fifteen years and have stayed in many different units until we purchased one to own. Our family has grown and we must now rent units for us all to fit. I must tell you that some of the units have the same appliances, furniture and decor that they had fifteen years back. There needs to be a certain standard of furnishings and appliances in order to justify paying upwrds of $3,000 plus dollars a week. Owners should be required to provide decent furniture, rugs, entertainment ie. decent TVs and DVD. Some of the dishwashers are literally falling apart everytime they are used. Is this ever talked about at association meetings? It need not be expensive refurbishing, but capital investments need to be done to the units. Thank you for listening. Lynette
