Ft. Meade, FL, United Statesweekend vacation was like paradise
Left on 05/14/2013 for a stay in May 2013
We recently went to palm island resort for 3 days. I can honestly say it was like paradise. The rooms were immaculate, the grounds were maintained, and the staff was very friendly. You can't beat the seclusion you get when you come here. I have vacationed all around the island but never on it. I would never go anywhere else but palm island resort when vacationing south Florida.

HUDSON, OH, United Statesneed new matresses'.....new rum bay store useless
Left on 04/18/2013 for a stay in April 2013
We love Palm island and have been returning for 20 's relaxing and the beach is perfect! It would be ideal if the mattresses' got updated periodically and if the kitchen appliances got upgraded too! We stayed in a relatively nice unit but I don't think the bedding has changed since 5 years ago when we were there. We enjoy cooking and the appliances are probably original...over 20 years old??? It would be perfect if the units had a set of Rubbermaid storage containers for left overs:)
Finally, the new rum bay store is useless...truly who wants to by fancy serving dishes, and tableware on vacation. The merchandise is nice but we don't visit PI for boutique shopping... our family missed the "candy store" going up each day to buy snacks, icecream bars, and the stuff kids spending money can afford. What was transferred down to Coconuts is so family didn't want a get a cone everyday...maybe I should thank you for saving us money since we only spent a quarter of what we normally when we visit. It will be interesting to see how your sales compare between the new stores' model and the old stores'. -

Very delightful. Definitely surprised the husband. Our trip to the Rum Bay restaurant was a wonderful experience. The service delivered by Bird was impeccable. There was spacious rooms and the Kitchen was set up well with most of the needs for cooking. Happy to see gas grills so close to the villa. Our overall experience was totally satisfying, even my 19 year old son wanted to stay another day.

We had a great time with my 90-year-old dad. My husband and I have visited here MANY times since the early 1980's, and never tire of the comfortable and relaxing atmosphere. Rented a golf cart for the first time, and enjoyed the water ferry to Leverocks -- saw manatees and dolphin along the way. Wonderful staff at the restaurant, bar, reservations -- can't wait to return!

Left on 12/20/2011 for a stay in December 2011
We got there and service was great! Even the guy who brings u across the water to that restaurant was kind. He was closing up at 730 on sat note and offerefoot take us to and from there even though he probably wantd to go home. The room was a little dirty tho. There were crumbs on the leather chair in the living room as well as the table in front of the tv. Black out curtains would have been nice with all those windows in the master bedroom as well. Over all it was quiet and we enjoyed ourselves. Thanks

For what it is I dare you to find a better location or property for the price. The beach is amazing, accommodations were warm and comfortable, staff was pleasant and welcoming, grounds were manicured. I would stay there again without hesitation.

The unit we stayed in was not our favorite but we love Palm Island and it did not take away from our stay. The porch furniture was in rough condition with a broken chair, also the dining furniture in the unit was very worn and had ragged caning.
The staff and other ammenities were wonderful as always and we hope to be back in a couple of weeks. -

Left on 06/01/2011 for a stay in May 2011
We had two units - one for us and one for our adult children and families. It was a wonderfully relaxing several days and a great time was had by all. The beach, warm gulf waters, shelling, perfect weather and beautiful sunsets all added to our enjoyment. Our 5 yr. old granddaughter especially liked the pirate crafts and getting her face painted. The guys had fun on their fishing trip even though they didn't actually "catch" any fish. They had a few on the line but the tarpon won the battle! The condos were very comfortable and for the most part had everything we needed. One small complaint is that the pillows were flat and not comfortable at all. However, with all the other great amenities and comforts that the resort has to offer, we will definitely be back again.

MIAMI, FLThanksgiving at Palm Island
Left on 12/15/2009 for a stay in November 2009
The location was great and the apartment was big and comfortable. We felt very safe in there and my kids loved it. The apartment had some minor problems such as a partially clogged drain in a bath tube and a non-working food disposal, but the maintenance staff was very helpful and fixed it all. The staff there is great. My son forgot a rain coat in the apartment. I called the island about a week after we came back. They located my son's rain coat and mailed it back to me on the same day I called. I'll definitely come back and recommend it.

It was absolutely beautiful. We went down to watch baseball, and the ferry's were a small concern before we got there, but it worked out perfectly. We made each game in plenty of time and had a nice relaxing place to come back to.

Jupiter, FL, United Statesunhappy with 3312 due to unit condition, moved to 3512
Left on 07/29/2008 for a stay in July 2008
We have been visiting the resort for 15 years, at least once a year and have always been pleased with the resort, however this year the unit we were originally placed in was not updated at all and showed it's 20 years of wear! We were extremely disappointed with the unit condition, then the refrigerator was not working and the front desk wanted to put our weeks worth of groceries in ice chests! Sorry but I have done that with the 3 hurricanes that hit my home and I did not feel that would be reasonable since the island seemed pretty empty. Then the manager asked if we wanted to change units, well who really wants to pack up and move again, especially while on vacation! But we did not have a choice as the room would not be adequate to hold us for the week. We packed up and moved to another unit, the next unit did have an updated decor, IE..new paint, pictures and some updated furniture. The refrigerator did work, but the rest of the appliances in the unit were lacking. My main problem with the other unit was the master bedroom's mattress was sagging in the middle and was very uncomfortable.
My family would normally say they did not want to leave and could not wait to come back again, but upon leaving this time we think we will try another beach destination. It is really sad for me and my husband because my children have some really fond memories from past times but feel we will spend our vacation dollars elsewhere.
Regretfully,
