Pear Lane Bed & Breakfast is situated in trendy, historic Newlands Village. Beneath an enormous oak tree at the end of a cul de sac there is a gate leading you into a lovely garden and quiet retreat. French doors open into a beautiful space of light from the large sash windows looking out to Devils Peak at the back of Table Mountain. A superbly comfortable King sized bed is clothed in white percale linen, the bathroom has a very large shower and twin basins and mirrors whilst the kitchen is very well equipped. From Pear Lane you can walk to Table Mountain Park and follow the trails, likewise visit Western Province Rugby and Cricket Grounds, Cavendish Square shopping mall and the renowned, historical Vineyard Hotel. Kirstenbosch Gardens are not far away and worth a visit at any time of the year. The University of Cape Town is enroute to Cape Town which is a 15 minute drive, likewise the Cable Car to Table Mountain, Waterfront, Airport, nearest beaches and Constantia winelands. The winelands of Paarl, Stellenbosch and Franschoek are only 45 minutes away.
Cape Town itself offers opera, theatre, art galleries, museums, a high standard of craft and the Castle of Good Hope. The Peninsula drive to Cape Point is stunning driving inland to Constantia onto the coast, passing Kalk Bay. an old and very active fishing harbour selling fresh fish daily, Fish Hoek, Simonstown to the Point and returning on Chapmans Peak Drive to Hout Bay and along the coast to Camps Bay which offers a string of restaurants, visit one of Cliftons 4 beaches and back into the city. There is easy access from Pear Lane to the main highways taking you up the West Coast, into the mountains or to Knysna. September is the beginning of the arrival of the whales to breed along the coast. Gansbaai offers shark diving in a cage. Helicopter tours of the Peninsula can be arranged and many restaurants in the winelands have helipads.

We come back to Pear Lane every time we return to Cape Town which is at least once a year because it is just perfect! So peaceful, so beautifully appointed, perfect space just for two and such wonderful hosts. Always highly recommend!

I throughly enjoyed my stay at Pear Lane. To the point I didn't want to leave.
Vo Pollard was a wonderful host. The garden was beautiful with all the flowers, house was clean and full of character.
Pets of the house are well behaved and lovable.
Easy access to shops near by, a stroll up to the mountain for afternoon walks and great art facilities near by.
Im looking forward to going back again and enjoying this home away from home.
