Description from the owner
Very very high up above Sea Point. Against the hairline of Lions Head and its neighbouring Signal Hill. Quiet, detached and serene- only about a kilometre to the gritty Sea Point main road but an eternity away from the urban bustle and grind. Food, bars, shops, city life, beaches- all are at your feet. Camps Bay and the Cape Town centre and Waterfront all a 10 minute drive away.
Large lounge and dining area with big elevated sea views over Sea Point below. Door opens onto the suspended wooden deck running along the length of the apartment.
From the deck there are equal servings of sea, suburbia, garden calm and then the mountain s...Read more

USAPerfect spot for an extended stay in Cape Town
Left on 01/10/2012 for a stay in December 2011
My husband and I stayed for nearly a month during the Xmas/New Years holidays and couldn't have been more pleased. We instantly felt right at home.
Comfortable combined living/dining/kitchen area,a separate bedroom with large bed and ample storage, and a spacious bathroom with both a roomy shower and large tub.
Large glass sliding doors in living area offer great sun, fresh air, and a nice view of city skyline (apartment is on 9th floor). Balcony is too small even for one chair and the northern view doesn't give a view of Table Mountain, but was a perfect vantage point for the New Year's fireworks on the waterfront.
Washer/Dryer and full kitchen made life easy.
Perfect, central location. You're at the edge of all the shops and nightlife of downtown which means the perfect balance of a nice, quiet, safe, surroundings but instant access to action blocks away. The shops and restaurants at Waterfront are only a 10 min walk north, De Waterkant 5-10 min east, and with the metro station only three blocks away, the southern suburbs are easy to reach.
The ground floor of the Icon building also has a coffee shop, small grocery, salon, and pharmacy.
Our only criticisms, which are very small:
1) landlord was slow to reply to email at times and super fast at others. She always got back to us in the end but it took several days at times.
2) wireless internet is only available through the hotel and it works through prepaid vouchers of limited amounts (100MB, 500MB, 1GB) and is very expensive.
3) bathroom and bedroom have no electrical outlets.Response from Rose Wood - 01/18/2012
Owner
Hello Katherine
I'm glad you enjoyed your stay in Cape Town and also the apartment. Re your (small) criticisms
1) Sorry, your emails went into a spam folder a few times so didn't see them immediately
2) Internet - unfortunately SA is still far behind when it comes to data which our clients are used to being free overseas but which is expensive in SA. Next time possibly it would be better to rent an USB modem (inexpensive) from Cellucity - they also have an outlet at the airport and the Vodacom data is cheaper. I can organise one to be available for pickup at the airport.
3) Electrical outlets in SA bathrooms are not legal but there should be outlets in the bedroom - now that you mention it I will follow up on it.
I hope to hear from you again when you organise your next trip to Cape Town
best regards

Excellently maintained apartment in Lower Long Street, close to the actino with private parking and pool with sunny terrace . Proximity to convention centre and the waterfront and to the main freeways means ideal location. Ground floor deli and nearby gourmet Spar. Modern, comfortable furniture with hotel quality bedroom, bathroom and well equipped kitchen. Have already recommended to friends

Rose kindly moved us to the Icon Jazz apartment as there were loud roadworks outside the Rockwell where we were due to stay. The Icon is fabulous - great space downstairs to eat (a wholefoods deli), great new gym, smart new apartment with TV and good kitchen. Very spacious. Organic products in the bathroom - nice touch. Everything works. Very comfortable and quiet. Good place to work. Great part of town on Long Street - lots of restaurants/bars. Free internet in the cafe just outside the apartment block. Rose is always on the end of the phone, and is very relaxed and accommodating. Highly recommended.

My wife and I are so glad that we stumbled on this place. We were a block and a 1/2 from the conference center and there is a coffee shop and small market on the 1st floor of the building that came in real handy. The exercise room is a great bonus as well. If you are looking for comfortable accommodations in a great location, this is your place. Also, I need to mention that the service we received was prompt and super-helpful. They went over and above to make sure we had a great stay.
