Stayed at Vertigo for four nights. Lovely location and amazing apartment. Everything you could want for a short or long stay was there including some food basics which was much appreciated. We felt very happy about the level of security in the development with great controlled access.

A great location on the V and a waterfront within walking distance to all amenities that it has to offer. Very safe and secure to walk at night after wonderful dinners at the waterfront. Loved the little special extras - bacon, eggs and bread. It's the little things that make a great stay. Nothing was too much trouble for Dominique and our requests were promptly and efficiently attended to. A modern and well kept apartment with beautiful views down the canal.

We had a warm welcome by the owner. She gave a good explanation about the facilities and even filled the frige for the first day! There is a possibility to cook a great meal or you can visit one of the many good restaurants nearby. There is T.V., internet en telephone. As renter you may use the swimming pool and the fitness.
Waterfront is a splendid location in the city, near the port, and the great shoppingcenter. But at the same time this location is very quiet. -

You cannot beat the location and ease of movement when staying at the Waterfront Marinas. You have access to great restaurants and everything that the Waterfront has to offer on foot. National highways are within a minute of leaving the Marinas. Best location in Cape Town!!
The flat was tastefully furnished with all the luxuries needed for a comfortable and enjoyable self-catered stay. The excellent security system (access cards to building, 2 booms, security personnel) is out of sight and provides peace of mind. All-in-all a great stay, whether in Cape Town for business or pleasure.

We had a wonderful stay at Vertigo.
It is so close and convenient to all the major attractions on the Waterfront. Withing walking distance too of the Cape Grace and One and Only, at a fraction of the cost. If you are looking for a 'home away from home' this has to be your choice. Thanks too, to Dominique, who made the booking and greeting process so easy. We will definitely be back! -

Outstanding service. Dominique met us on her scooter and Sylvia was busy cleaning when we arrived. There was a nice bottle of white wine, butter, milk, eggs, bacon, bread, still water, washing power, dish liquid, etc for us to use. The view from the balcony is awesome. Full Dstv usage which was awesome! There is also a washing machine and tumble dryer which was a great cost saving too. You can make use of the nearby gym and swimming pool which is stunning and it's walking distance to the V&A; aquarium, market, Quay4, Ferryman's, V&A; mall, etc. You can also book a ferry for R30 that will take you around the canals in your area which also goes tot he Cape Town Convention Centre. No drinking and driving and the Pick 'n Pay stays open till 10h00!! We loved everything! Will definitely be making use of this facility in the future.

Thanks Lesley, great to hear you were happy.

We were visiting our daughter who is interning in Cape Town and we stayed in this very nicely situated one bedroom condo for 6 days. The place is right by V&A; and is walking distance to the Pier. It is incredibly secure with underground parking and great security. You have a use of their pools as well as workout facility. t is so close to where you want to go in Cape Town if you have a car. The owner of the place, Dominique is just excellent and helpful. As other reviewers talked about, she already had wine, bread, milk and butter ready for use. She returned our emails promptly with any silly questions we had. I would definitely stay there again.

This was our first time to South africa, we could not recommend better accommodation. It is very clean, modern and contemporary, including a washing machine & dryer which was fantastic as our stay was two weeks and we were running out of underwear!!
Dominique offers brilliant service of which we were very grateful for from the time of making the booking all the way through to us leaving. Dominique is gorgeous, the best hostess anyone could ask for! We loved the extra touches of brekkie provisions for our first morning and chocolates for valentines day :)
And what a brilliant location overlooking the water from the balcony - many lazy days spent on the lounge chair! Very secure area all the way through to the V & A waterfront, we had no qualms of walking to the waterfront for dinner at night, awesome restaurants everywhere! We will definitely stay here again when we come back

Left on 01/04/2013 for a stay in December 2012
We stayed in this apartment over the Christmas break and were extremely impressed. Not quite knowing what to expect, we were thrilled when we arrived and found the apartment to be bright and clean with a fantastic view from the balcony overlooking a secure waterway and the One and Only Hotel. The atmosphere was wonderful.
It turned out that the location of the apartment was just as good with only a short walk to the V+A Waterfront area. The area itself was safe and monitored by security staff 24 hours a day. An outdoor swimming pool and gym facilities were the icing on the cake.
This is the kind of property I would expect only to find via word-of-mouth recommendation, and I would have no hesitation recommending it to friends or visiting again myself.
Dominique, the apartment owner, was also extremely helpful and accommodating from the moment we first made contact. She always replied quickly to our questions with lots of useful information. -

It is only 300 yards from the seal platform by the V&A; aquarium, but this luxury apartment is also a safe and secure haven.
This gated property really is something special; situated on the first floor, well away from the noise of the waterfront, and has lovely peaceful views.
The fully equipped apartment itself is modern , clean, comfortable and functional. Happily, this included a washing machine and tumble dryer: essential for us as we had been travelling.
With glass frontage overlooking the clean and wide waters of the "canal", and great for the afternoon sunshine, this is a quiet location just a few hundred yards away from the bustle of the Waterfront.
The location of this very upmarket apartment was very handy for the attractions, bars, restaurants, shops including food supermarkets. It is an absolutely ideal location with everything you need being very walkable.
The only problems we had was the television;- as all channels seem to run throughout the week multiple repeats of the England rugby team defeat to a Springbok team that had luck on their side, but you cannot have everything can you... -

Since our visit was short we wanted good tour guides to show us around. Dominique provided the name and the tours were excellent. The Waterfront has an excellent location right in the heart of tourist area. Security is outstanding and the staff provided excellent serivce in calling for taxis and so on. I couldn't recommend this apartment enough. From the minute you arrive at the gates to an impressively cautious security, you instantly feel at ease inside the complex. The Waterfront is by far the best place to stay in Cape Town. Access to the Hop On Hop Off bus is easy, it has shops and eating places a-plenty and the atmosphere is relaxed and safe. Waterfront Vertigo is located in a secure and very attractive complex of apartments. It was fantastic to be able to stroll around the area, open the doors of the apartment and enjoy the terrace and just generally enjoy very comfortable, clean, quiet and well appointed accommodation. Thank you Dominique for your attention to detail (including the much appreciated bottle of wine).

Dominique, the owner, met us when we arrived from our flight, very early in the morning took us around the apartment, explained all that we needed to know and went out of her way to be helpful. There was even a 'welcome' pack of essentials like milk and a bottle of wine waiting for our arrival. The location is perfect, overlooking the 'One & Only' hotel, across the peaceful canal, a few minutes walk to the V&A; shopping and eating complex. Dominique has also gone to the trouble to arrange that the apartment has use of the gym and the most attractive of the four or five outdoor pools within the apartment complex. The charge for the apartment is very reasonable (we stayed in another, right next door that was in a poor state of maintenance and cost more!). Highly recommended, we'll certainly return if we can!

This is the first time we have stayed in self catering accommodation and after staying in this great apartment would not go back to hotels in Cape Town. The apartment is located 5-10 minutes walk from the V&A; Waterfront and is within a secure complex which makes you feel very safe. The apartment has everything you could need including a washing machine and dryer. The balacony is nice to sit out and watch the world pass by with a glass of local wine. The underground car parking which goes with the apartment is great if you have a hire car and are wanting to travel around the wine areas and further. Dominique could not be a better host and was very welcoming and we appreciated the eggs, bacon, bread, milk and wine which were awaiting our arrival. We cannot recommend this accommodation higher and are already planning our return visit next year.

This was our sixth visit to Cape Town, but the first time we stayed at the Waterfront.. We rented the Vertigo apartment in the altmore Building (overlooking side of Cape Grace hotel) for 14 days. Dominique (the owner) is an absolute sweetheart and is always available (via mobile or email) if you need to get in touch with her. The apartment exceeded our expectations as all the faciliites were ideal for self catering especially with great kitchen inc: w/machine, a lovely big lounge and large outside balcony - and the bed is so comfortable!!! The location is fantastic as you're central to everything and extremely safe. Make sure you walk along to the 5* One & Only Hotel as they serve fab cocktails at a very cheap price! You must visit Willoughby's in the V&A; Shopping Mall for the world's best Sushi (only 15 min walk!) . Can't speak highly enough of Vertigo, especially if you're looking for a safe, affordable and luxurious option at the Waterfront. Will definitely return!!

Left on 01/06/2012 for a stay in December 2011
We booked the apartment for 10 days over Christmas and New Year. Directions from the airport were clear and the apartment was easy to find. The host met us at security and we were shown straight into the apratment. As the owner was away on holiday we were greeted by an agency. Unfortunately this did cause some problems as the agency person did not point out that the office would be closed during most of our stay and so we were unable togain access to the mainswimming pool, the gym or to wi-fi for the first five days. I did point this out to the owner by e-mail as it is a small but important issue to resolve. Other than that we found the whole stay exceptional. By the way wi-fi access is very expensive Rand160 per day. If you have Skpe on your computer you can access Skyrove from the apartment which charges by the minute but then you can use it for only as long as you need. This is a much cheaper option if you only want to use your computer to say check a few e-mails or check in for your flight.
The apartment is perfectly located for an easy stroll to the V+A Waterfront for shopping and supermarkets, to the trendy Waterkant area for dining and to the City Centre/Long Street area for sightseeing and nightlife. It is also an easy drive either down to Clifton/Camps Bay or down to the sights on the other side of the mountain.
It was great that the parking garage was on the same floor as the flat making it easy to get stuff from the car to the flat.
The apartment was very well equipped and we made most of our meals in the flat. The small touches also make a difference as I noted in a review for another apartment where they were absent. Here we were provided with shower gel and hand soap, dishwashing powder and detergent for the washing machine, salt/pepper and some spices in the kitchen, some tea/coffee etc.
The furniture was simple but comfortable and the flat was decorated with colourful paintings. We especially liked to sit on the large balcony with a view over the canal and watch the world going by. Everything worked i.e. Tv, washing machine, dryer, stove, microwave etc. If I could offer one piece of advice on furnishing it would be to add an extra lamp in the living room. When watching TV one had a choice between one small floor lamp which was a bit too dark or the full ceiling lights.
Overall a great place to stay and thoroughly recommended. In my notes below I mentioned I would not recommend this as a flat for those with smaller children. This is only because of the canal which runs through the property which is not fenced off. Potentially kids could fall into the canal if not closely supervisedResponse from Mrs DE Posen - 01/13/2012
Owner
Thanks Nic for your review, much appreciated.
Just 2 things to mention.
1. Internet is NOT R 160 per day. The R 160 will cover your internet for your whole stay. When I am around I ask the people to leave the cards behind so it gets carried over to the next people. If you are lucky you get internet for free, if you are unlucky you will just have to spend R 160
2. When I am around (most of the year !!), I give my guests 2 access cards. One of them gives you automatic entrance to the "owners pool" and gym.

My family and I had just spent the most wonderful 2 weeks travelling around South africa. Hence, we were somewhat reluctant to head back into the stress and strains of 'city living'. However, there were no stresses and strains to be had. Everything in Waterfront Vertigo was absolutely perfect. Check-in with Dominique was seamless. She was incredibly helpful, pleasant, clear and friendly. Everything in the flat(and believe me, although it pains me to admit it,I can be a bit of a princess) was perfect. It was spotless, beautifully decorated, everything was logically arranged, the bed was so,so comfortable, every appliance worked etc, etc). There were some incredibly thoughtful little touches, for example, Domique had left us some shopping in the fridge and a bottle of lovely wine. There was also a Cape Town Time Out magazine so we could do a little reseach. Externally, the location was also perfect. Walking distance to oddles and oddles of great bars and restaurants. Fantastic all round!! I loved this place...

This is a superbly located apartment in gated complex adjacent to Cape Grace Hotel and walking distance to Waterfront. In addition to location, has excellent gym facilities and pool and landscaping in the well-maintained complex is great.
Our apartment was snug for family of 4, but we wanted this since we have a number of shared items in our luggage. This would be an ideal size for a couple. All furnishings, electrical appliances, and TV were in excellent working order.
My husband left an electric plug for conversion to N. American plug for our electronic tools, which include a couple of cameras, so there was a little bit of panic when we realized that the plugs in S. Africa are not the same as UK.
All in all, an excellent end to 2 weeks on safari in Botswana and visit to Vic Falls -

aside from the weather messing with us. We had a great visit to Cape Town and the Rental unit was perfect as the kids could come and go as they pleased to the waterfront. The security is great! thanks to Dominique from who we rented, everything was perfect right down to leaving a bottle of wine for us to enjoy!!!

The apartment was fantastic! It was a great location to base ourselves to explore Cape Town. The complex setting was really nice and we felt very safe and secure. The use of the gym was also great and it was beautiful overlooking the harbour. We will definitely be returing to Cape Town and we hope this apartment is available at the time we next decide to visit!

The apartment has everything you need for a stay in Cape Town (a home away from home), including kitchen and secure parking. It is located within the Waterfront and you can walk to all the shops and restaurants in 5minutes. Also conveniently located at the DockRoad entrance to the Waterfront, close to the city centre and with direct access to N1 and N2 highways for trips outside of town.

We had a great time at Waterfront Vertigo and the owner gave us a very warm welcome. Lovely view from the terrace and very comfortable and well equiped appartment. Nice to feel so safe in this very secure property (included very safe parking). Lots of shopping and restaurants nearby (V&A; Waterfront). We were very sad to leave after six nights and easily could have stayed for 6 more. We'll definitely book again!! Sofie and Koen - Belgium

It was recommended to me by a family member who stayed there before and who was impressed by the magnificant location of the appartment.
Alltough I frequently visit South africa, my stay at this appartment was a once in lifetime experience. The check-in was very professional, and the appartment was perfectly furnitured. The view from the balcony, overlooking the exclusive island part of the One and Only Hotel, was unique and breathtaking. The short walk to the heart of the Waterfront area, led me through the most beautiful part of the harbour. Thank you Dominic for this very special experience ! I surely will be back ! -

We were impressed by the helpfulness and attention which we received from Dominique right from our first enquiry through to our depature. The apartment itself is ideal for a relaxing stay in Cape Town being in easy walking distance of the V&A; shops and restaurants. Our only dislike was the heavy duvet provided in sweltering temperatures -even with air-conditioning it was still too hot for us!
Response from Mrs DE Posen - 03/01/2011
Owner
A pity the guest did not contact me with the problem of the heavy duvet. Under the duvet is a single sheet so that guests have the option to cover themselves with the sheet or the duvet (or both, people have very different needs for sleeping). Probably the guests by mistake slept on top of the loose sheet.

What an absolutely stunning property. We stayed here at the end of Jan for four nights and were very sad to leave. This was my 6th time to Cape Town and by far the best accommodation I have stayed in.
My advise would be to rent a car from the airport and drive in, the property has secure (very secure!) parking is is very easy to find from anywhere in the city.
We loved this place so much that we chose to eat in every night, there is a supermarket in the V&A;, so we stocked up on food and wine, sitting on the balcony overlooking the marina was lovely!
It is based right in the heart of the marina and literally 5 mins (Safe) walk to the Waterfront. You will see penquins & seals on route also!
Dominique was a fantastic host from Check In to Check out and even left us some breakfast, after a long flight that was a lovely gesture!
Stay here if you can!!

The property surpassed all expectations and it is a very comfortable and perfectly situated apartment. The residence is secure and all personnel on the spot are very professional and helpful. My father and I had a thoroughly restorative stay, leaving very reluctantly. The owner is a charming and wonderful person and she can not do enough to make one feel welcome.

We have just returned from Cape Town were we spent 5 nights at the Waterfront Vertigo. Dominique checked us in and made sure we had everything we needed including some essentials to get us started. The apartment is spotlessly clean in a great location and is very secure. The apartment is ideally situated to visit the V&A; Waterfront and Cape Town center and we will certainly use the apartment again when we return to Cape Town

Apartments (booked 2 for a group of 7) were well equipped, very clean and comfortable. Well located in highly secured environment at walking distance (+- 7 mins) from the main Waterfront area. Easy road access and secured parking at your doorstep. Great welcome from Dominique who spared no effort to please us (thanks for the luggage!!!). One minor inconvenience is accessing the bath room through the main room when sharing with another couple.

A close friend recommended this apartment to us for 1 week during a conference where most of the delegates were staying at the One&Only; hotel directly opposite. We were amazed by just how close the apartment was and at a 1/3 of the price of what our friends were paying at the hotel! The apartment was modern, comfortable, well appointed and directly on the canal front. Dominique was extremely accommodating and friendly - it felt like we were at a B&B; with full privacy.

We had a lovely weekend in Cape Town based in self-catering accommodation at Vertigo Waterfront. Beautiful, clean, modern apartment and being able to prepare our own breakfast was a real bonus. About a 10 minute walk to the waterfront restaurants and shops. Very secure and safe to walk around the residential complex and back and forth to the waterfront, even at night. Lovely balcony and pretty views over marina.

Lovely welcome and we could spend hours sitting on the spacious balcony looking at the activities happening in front of us. Thank you so much Dominique - we will be back!! -

Arrived while on honeymoon to a cold bottle of champagne and a very warm welcome from the owner. We could not belive the location of this apartment - right in the heart of the V&A; waterfront marina. The apartment is finished to a 5* standard complete with luxury robes and all required appliances. We came for 3 nights and ended up staying for 5. Do not have a bad word to say about this - absolutely perfect!

When we arrived at the apartment we were both awestruck, what a beautiful place. We love the interior, immediately you feel at home. The balcony is ideal for a romantic dinner, with a view over the water and beautiful lighting around it. Being so close to the city but having no noise was a definite plus point. With shops and restaurants nearby there are many options for eating.
Being a nearby to the waterfront and the city, there is always something you can do during the day, but you will find yourself longing to be back in the apartment for a comfortable night. Conclusion: Your holiday will be too short and will be planning next years trip back as soon as you get home. -

Being regular visitors of South africa, we took the risk to book an apartment instead of the usual hotels. Great was our astonishment when we saw the location of the apartments on the beautiful Waterfront and the modern interior and equipment. We were so happy. Each evening when we returned to our "home". Being elderly people, we found everything we needed; shops, restaurants, center of the town within walking distance. The feeling of security was excellent, especially our nightly walks back from the Waterfront to the nearby apartment. Thank you Dominique for a marvelous stay and you can be certain that we will return next year;

We booked the appt very late and were delighted with the service and welcome we received. It was clean, modern and homely too, great location and views from the balcony. We were there for the world cup and this location was ideal to get the flavour of the tournament.
I raved that much about the appt that when I got back a friend of mine has since booked to go to Cape Town and stay there too.
The football (as an England fan) was terrible but the stay at the Vertigo was superb and next time I'm down that neck of the woods I will certainly book again.
Thanks for the bacon in the fridge Dominique!

We stayed at the Vertigo appartment for the 2nd time in Febr. 2010 (and are planing to come back in 2011). The attractive appartment is located in the V.& A.Marina just a few minutes walk to the Waterfront and has magnificant canal views. The walk to the Waterfront, shops and restaurants is an absolutely pleasure along the water`s edge. The spacious appartment is furnished to highest standard & fully equipped with everything needed for a comfortable stay. A large canal facing balcony to enjoy breakfast or simply relax. House keeping service is provided. Secure underground parking bay. High security & absolutely safe in the complex. Though centrally located in Cape Town it is quiet & peaceful. No traffic noise. An ideal base for exploring Cape Town & for touring the Cape & the Winelands. Booking, checking in/out well organised & easy going. Friendly & caring owner makes you feel at home.
