Additional Location Information
Sunset Rocks is a small serene coastal residential area of +/- 50 houses on the foot of Little Lionβs Head Mountain situated between Llandudno and the Sandy Bay Nature Reserve. It is on the Atlantic Seaboard 16 Km South West of Cape Town and 5 Km from Hout Bay village. There is no commercial activity, which gives this sanctuary its peaceful atmosphere, free of noise, traffic and pollution. The beaches are clean with soft white sand and refreshing seawater. DurbanSpectacular view, versatile location and comfortable: Highly rec
Left on 04/21/2013 for a stay in March 2013
We were hosting family from Europe and Durban-based friends recommended Sunset Rocks for the CPT leg of our Sa tour. We certainly weren't disappointed: the coastal atlantic view was superb and the accommodation very comfortable. The location in Llandudno (Sandy Bay) is very convenient for multiple peninsula destinations. Ian includes many thoughtful and significant touches for his guests e.g. binoculars, electric plug socket adaptors. Highly recommended ... we'll certainly be back.

DarwenWonderful Holiday
Left on 12/04/2012 for a stay in October 2012
We had a first class holiday at Sunset Rocks. The facilities and location were fantastic. Our only problem was leaving after such an amazing time. It's a simple equation...if you're going to South africa, go to Cape Town. If you're going to Cape Town go to Llandudno. If you're going to Llandudno got to Sunset Rocks.

London and the AlpsFantastic views, tranquillity and lots of bright sunshine
Left on 07/14/2012 for a stay in December 2011
If, like me, you are looking for fantastic views, tranquillity and lots of bright sunshine Sunset Rocks is the perfect location. As an author I prefer to be left to get on with writing and the remote location of this accommodation is just right. It is comfortable and has everything I need with a friendly, unobtrusive couple who run it. I am also a bit of a hobby photographer and if you want to see some of the pictures I have taken from this base just put Chris Duggleby into your search engine and then look into my africa gallery. All the shots of Llandudno, Sunset Rocks and Sandy Bay were taken within walking distance from the accommodation. As they say a picture can say more than a thousand words!

Left on 07/12/2012 for a stay in March 2012
We discovered this little piece of heaven some years ago. Since then we are coming back regularly every year to stay at Ian's stunning place. The place is refreshingly down-to-earth in the rather posh area of Llandudno. Ian is a great host. Sunset Rocks is the ideal place to seek rest from the hustle and bustle. The sun deck is amazing, sunsets are breathtaking and it's simply wonderful listening to the waves rolling in. Upon leaving we're already looking forward to our next stay.

DurbanAn outstanding start to a South african holiday
Left on 05/13/2011 for a stay in September 2010
Sunset Rocks looked great from the website but the experience itself was beyond expectations. The location is stunning, and ideal for so much - staying put (lovely sea and sky views from open decks), wandering down to the beach, accessing the city and exploring the peninsula. The ambience of the accommodation was just right, and the standard of equipment provided was thoughtful and way above average for a self-catering unit. Communication by the owner is top-notch, but level of independence during our stay was ideal. Friends who visited us there were amazed. We have already made a second booking and recommended Sunset Rocks to others.

San Francisco, California, USAWorld Cup Dream Trip
Left on 05/11/2011 for a stay in June 2010
The three of us traveled from San Francisco and Los angeles, California for the World Cup games in Cape Town. This accomodation was ideally located just a short drive (aproximately 25 minutes) and was well worth it. The drive (a car is a necessity) itself along the coast and the view from this apartment are breath-taking. The apartment was clean and very quiet. The view from the apartment deck is nothing short of stunning. The propieter (Ian) was very friendly and helpful. I would recommend this accomodation to anyone traveling to the Cape Town area.

Ian is a star when it comes to creating a homely atmosphere and his service and concern for one's well-being is par excellence. His welcome and settling one in is so good. Everything required and more is offered with genuine hospitality and the flat is a reflection of this. The view is therapeutic and one can fall in love here several times a day (sigh). Food for the soul, I tell you! We find it perfectly located for all the attractions that Cape Town can offer. However, as great as everything is, there is one thing that I hate about this place, and that is having to pack up and leave! Dammit!

Hattem, NetherlandsThe perfect spot for cape holiday
Left on 04/26/2011 for a stay in February 2010
A glorious spot, with the best sea views and sunsets; beach at your doorstep , a splendid large deck , use of pool , and right between Houtbay and Cape Town , close to Constantia winefarms , what more could you ask for . The appartment is small but confortable, with 3 small bedrooms, stayed twice , would have been 3 times in 3 years, but unfortenately, was booked out already . Favourite with many people !
