This private vacation beach house offers many extras, including comfortable furnishings, parking for 2 vehicles, a boutique back yard with BBQ. It is a short stroll to shopping, restaurants and the beach. Dog Friendly and Wifi access Available Monthly from January 1st - June 15th for $2200/month

We has a wonderful time in Capitola, and Beach House Rentals were top notch. You can't go wrong renting the house at 222 San Jose ave. It was a perfect place to relax, right near the beach, and very comfortable. Parking is included which is a bonus.

We had an excellent time staying here in December! There were 3 couples and two babies and it was just perfect for us! We walked to downtown and the beach everyday and loved having everything so close. Thank you for the experience! I will definitely recommend this place and try to stay here again in the future.

We had a weekend girls getaway to Capitola. We loved the location. Easy to walk to the beach and the bars. Parking was great for two cars and the house is perfect. We really enjoyed having drinks in the evening and coffee in the morning on the porch. Neighbors were friendly and answered our quesitons.

The home was just as it was described on the website and by the reviewers. Having 3 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms for 6 women was perfect especially when we were getting ready to go out. In most weather,the porch is an extra room. Wee spent a lot of time sitting out there, visiting with neighbors and watching the surfers, tourist and townspeople go by. The wicker furniture on the porch was comfortable and sturdy.
One of the reasons we chose this home was its price especially in relation to its location. We were literally 1 block from the restaurants and 2 blocks from the beach. The condition of the property is reflected in the price. The furniture and finishes are clean but well used including the mattresses. A replacement program for them would not be a bad idea.
Loved: Location, front porch, plenty of room in living/dining/kitchen, on site washer and dryer. We had one service issue regarding trash. We called the office and it was dealt with promptly.
Liked least: Mattresses, small television (hard to see from across the room (SF Giants were in post-season during our visit.).
Hint: There is no wi-fi capability with the hi-speed internet connection on site. So if your group needs wi-fi connectivity you must either use your data plan, bring your own hot spot or do what I did and bring your wireless router with you. I just brought my Linksys (Cisco) router, plugged the ethernet cable from the hi-speed modem and "Voila" wireless for our group at no additional cost. Because I already had the wireless network on my laptop, no additional programming was needed other than to give the other users the network password.Response from Beach House Rentals - 11/05/2012

Having read the prior reviews I offer this: i read several who complained about the cleanliness ... It was a quaint, well lived in beach house... and in the days we were there we thoroughly enjoyed it... Adults and kids alike! If you want a high end, brand new, sparkling place that you have to worry about keeping that way... Well this one is not for you! However, if you are looking for a quiet place that is close to the beach, but far enough away from the nightlife that you can enjoy it if you want but escape it also..., a place that your kids can relax and have fun without you constantly saying "don't touch that".. A place that has a lil patio for your four legged friends.. Well this one is perfect!!! Oh and no need to bring sheets and extra blankets, or wine glasses...there are plenty! Thank you BHR for a magical vacation for myself and my family.. We will be seeing you again!!!

Great location. Kitchen is well supplied with dishware, pots, and other kitchen necessities; better than others we have rented. There were 7 of us women and we managed pretty comfortably.
Biggest complaint is the cleanliness, or lack thereof. The hall bath floor was filthy, underneath the bath rug. The garbage outside is a little close to the bedroom and a bit smelly. Nothing was sparkling though most of it was acceptable. The management is very accessible and responsive to problems. We have been coming to Capitola for 25+ years and decided to rent a beach house this year and found 222 San Jose on Beach House Rentals. We had 4 adults and 2 teenage boys and it was perfect. It was clean, spacious and quiet even though it was just a block from shopping & two long blocks from the ocean. We loved the front porch for just hanging out. We would rent it again and highly recommend it.

This is a old beach house that has been maintained fairly well over the years. We found the house clean with everything we could ever need. The large front porch was nice to sit out and visit. I would stay here again.

The cottage was very nice and we liked that pets were allowed. The location was great.
The cleanliness of the cottage was very poor. You can tell it had been vacuumed, but that is about it. Floors were dirty (sweeped, but not mopped). The coffee mugs had coffee stains on them and the glasses and silverware were dirty. We had to clean all the dishes before we used them. -

We all very much enhjoyed our stay in Capitola. The house was perfect for our group. We had kids under the age of 10 and the front porch was a great gathering place.
