Il Sole di Capri is a gorgeous house situated in a fantastic location in a residential area just a stone?s throw from the famous pedestrian main street of Capri town, lined with exclusive boutiques and oozing chic Mediterranean style. The house itself is very comfortably furnished in a light and fresh style so typical of this area, and boasts two large private terraces perfect for relaxing or dining al fresco. Il Sole di Capri is an idyllic base from which to enjoy the delights of this wonderful island.
he entrance gate to Il Sole di Capri leads directly into the terrace area at the fr...ont of the house. Being 100 sqm and secluded on both sides, this main terrace is more of a little paved oasis with lovely Mediterranean plants and flowers, and furnished with sun loungers and table and chairs for dining al fresco. At a slightly higher level a few steps lead to a further furnished terrace area shaded by a pergola and with access also to the twin bedroom. The main terrace opens directly into the house?s lovely living area, furnished in a bright and airy style with whitewashed walls, archways, beautiful handmade floor tiles, pretty furnishings including some antique pieces, all in the wonderful unique style of Capri island. The living room consists of an inviting sitting area with settee, armchairs, satellite television, DVD and CD player and dining table and chairs. Just off the living room is a fully equipped kitchen complete with all modern appliances.
A couple of steps lead from the living area to the first bedroom which has a double bed, armchairs and television. Off a corridor are two bathrooms and a second bedroom with twin beds (which can convert to a double on request), settee (which can convert to a bed on request) and television. This bedroom has patio doors opening directly onto the second terrace area which is shaded by a pergola and furnished with table, chairs and loungers. A couple of steps lead down to the main terrace area which is also furnished and is a wonderful spot for relaxing or dining al fresco. Il Sole di Capri also has the added bonus of Wifi internet connection.
All of Capri towns? amenities are just a short walk away, as are restaurants and cafes. The famous ?piazzetta? square and main pedestrian shopping street are lined wonderful chic boutiques and pavement cafes perfect for sitting and watching the world go by. Only residents cars are normally allowed on the island so staying with a car is not recommended. It?s easy to get around and see the island?s many sights by public transport. The house is close to the local bus stops, and from Capri town you can reach the main port and beach at Marina Grande via the funicular railway and by bus. The view points of the spectacular Faraglioni rocks are well worth a visit as is the smaller town of Anacapri. From the port there are ferries and hydrofoils to the mainland, namely Naples, watched over by Mount Vesuvius and the cosmopolitan town of Sorrento. Boat trips around the island and along the coast are also normally available locally.
The cuisine in this area is superb, lazily shop for the local produce, then dine alfresco on your own terrace or try out one of the selection of local restaurants. Fish is obviously a local speciality as is the famous ?caprese? salad a mix of fresh mozzarella and juicy tomatoes.
