Areca Palms Estate Bed and Breakfast is the longest running traditional bed and breakfast located on the Kona Coast. Serving our guests since 1991 in an upscale home which is kept impeccably clean. We have been reviewed by all of the major professional travel writers and rank very high with all of them. Frommers, Lonely Planet, AAA, Big Island Tour Book and many more have give us outstanding reviews. Areca Palms Estate B&B; is a plantation style home located on over 1.25 acres of landscaped lawns and gardens. Areca Palms Estate B&B; is located 20 miles south of the Kailua-Kona Airport. We are located far enough off of the Highway to minimize any street noise yet easily accessible for you to get your trip going. The turn off of the Highway is located between mile markers 110 and 111. You will see a sign for MI'S restaurant on the left of the road. Shortly after that there is a left hand turn. Make the left and go up the hill for 200 meters til the road "Y"s. Go the the left and there we are. (P.S. if your reach a Chevron Station on the left you have gone 1/4 mile to far.)

Nach 5 Tagen San Francisco sind wir auf Big Island gelandet und hatten sofort aloha-Feeling. Aber nach der ankunft im areca Palms Estate Bed and Breakfast war es perfekt. Janice & Steve sind sehr herzlich und auskunftsbereit. Schnorchelausrüstung, Boggieboards, Standhandtücher - alles steht bereit und unser Zimmer (mit eigener Terasse und ausgang zum wundervollen Traumgarten) war perfekt. Unser Sohn genoß den Garten sehr und auch wir haben uns pudelwohl gefühlt. Es wird auf viele kleine Details geachtert (frische Blumen) geachtet und vermisst haben wir gar nichts. Das Frühstück ist einmalig lecker, ein wirklicher augenschmaus und wird an einer großen Tafel in der "privaten" Küche/Wohnraum pünktlich um 8 Uhr serviert. So kommt man auch mit anderen Gästen in Kontakt und kann sich zu den besten Reiseunternehmungen austauschen. Wenn wir uns nochmal auf den Weg machen um die halbe Welt zu fliegen und Big Island weiter erkunden (8 Tage reichen einfach nicht aus, um dieses wunderbare Stück Erde zu erkunden), dann werden wir definitiv wieder zu Janice & Steve kommen. We loved the areca Palms. Steve and Janice were wonderful hosts and provided a fantastic breakfast every morning which Janice made from scratch. Very knowledgable about the area and provided great tips for where to go for snorkeling (provided snorkeling gear) and sight seeing. Lanai Room was very nice, clean, comfortable, private.

Seven members of my family and I spent five enjoyable days with our Hosts Steve and Janice. Janice baked a Birthday cake for me 88th birthday. Yum yum good! Our great hosts made us feel at home. Price if fair and quality is the best. Thank you Steve and Janice.

We spent three days in this lovely B&B; and the owners were very welcoming and helpful in planning our activities. The grounds are beautiful, rooms are warm and inviting, and the breakfasts over the top delicious!

Your home is very relaxing and beautifull. Your morning breakfast was so wonderfull. I can't wait to try the recipe. We had such a wonderful time enjoying the day's out keeping busy. Coming back to a beautifull room and relaxing with a glass of wine and your wonderfull company.

What an enjoyable time we had staying in your home. You had every thing we needed to use for snorkling etc. We certainly enjoyed meeting the two of you. The beautiful sunsets from the deck. Wish we were there now. Have a wonderfull winter we'll see you next time.

It was lovely to stay in this home for a week. the owners Steve&Janice; Glass were such great host. Such a beautiful setting. So peaceful from the downtown hustle.
Can't leave out the wonderful breakfast in the morning befor we started our day. -
